You Are Out of Your Mind!
"If we are “out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you." 2 Corinthians 5:13
Don't ever be surprised if someone comes and questions you and your faith. First things first, you made the right decision, and yes, YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MIND, but in a good way. Paul said it right, you are out of your mind for God!
Why are you out of your mind? Because Jesus did something out of this world. Something no man would have ever done for all of humanity. How many people live on Earth? 7 billion and counting. So, for everyone of those persons, Jesus Christ, God's PERFECT son did something huge. Let's take some time and define the word, perfect. Just so you'll get what I'm about to say next.
A few ways to define perfect according to Merriam-Webster:
a) being entirely without fault or defect // FLAWLESS.
b) absolute; complete // Jesus is as good as it is possible to be.
So, with that in mind, because of MY past ways, the old creature that I was, God had to send His Son. Those past ways which were absolutely filthy and disgustingly dirty. Christ wore them and put it on himself. Someone so perfect, like how we defined earlier, He was so clean and pure, but because of HOW MUCH GOD LOVED ME (John 3:16), Christ wore my filth and garbage. So that I may also be apart of their family.
"God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." 2 Corinthians 5:21
The old creature you once were, it's absolutely gone, now. You are a new creature in Christ. That means you are now able to have that relationship with God. You are seen worthy in God's eyes to wear His very own righteousness, and to be exposed to even his own knowledge. That's what this whole Christian thing is. A relationship with God!
With all this being said...so what some one calls you crazy, or tells you you're out of your mind. I'm going to tell you myself, you're a freak, but a different kind of freak. You're a JESUS FREAK! (...this is when you play Jesus Freak by DcTalk and jam out like crazy.) Let all of that just be a boost or an extra shot of expresso for you to grow more in your faith and seek more of what God wants in your life.

The 100th Step
Sometimes in this journey we call life, we come to a point where we have to take a big step. We come to take that step, but we can’t see the other side. Faith plays a big role here and trusting that God’s holding your hand. Just because you can’t see the other side, doesn’t mean you should just stop and give up. I have respect for those who don't give up. It can be anything too. A dream, a person, a passion, etc. DO NOT GIVE UP. I've seen so many incidents where people I know have given it all up. Every one of them told me the same thing, "Ruth, don't do what I did. Don't give up." You've taken 99 steps, and you see the last one is too wide. So what? Take it. Once you take that step and actually see where God has brought you, you’re going to be glad you took it.
In my life right now, I'm about to take the 100th step, and it's feeling far. I’m at the point where I have no idea what’s coming up next and I’m kind of okay with that. The only thing that's kept me going is the fact that there's one person who knows what's going to happen. That person is Jesus. If you let Him guide you and hold your hand while you take every step, it seems a little easier. Trust me, the journey won't be unchallenging, but it's going to be WORTH IT. Jesus will take you through the desert, up and down some hills, heck even mountains. But once you get to the place where He wants you, oh man, you're going to look back and just smile to yourself. Wow, I can just imagine it! Everything you once worried about, the doubts, maybe the regrets, they all disappear. What matters now is that you conquered it all through Jesus Christ.
So maybe you're like me right now. Dehydrated, almost ready to pass out, but for some reason you've still held tight to Jesus' hand. Keep going, Jesus has got you. Fix your eyes on Him, and take every step with confidence that God will bring you to completion just like it was promised.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Winter Wonderland in the middle of April.
This past weekend, I adventured off to the mountains for the day with some good people. It reminded me why I absolutely love the city I live. I can drive 20 minutes and end up in Malibu where I find bliss in the ocean waves. Or I can drive an hour up to the mountains to make some snow angels and stick my tongue out to taste the crisp snowflakes.

Here's an awkward intro. about myself:
1. My name is Ruth (*Hiii Ruth..*), I'm 19, born and raised in Los Angeles. WHAT'S GOOD, 818?!!
2. I am a lover of Jesus, because He shows me what perfect love is everyday of my life. (...and I wouldn't be here if it weren't for Him.)
3. FOOD AND LAUGHTER. I like to laugh and eat. A LOT. I've had too many of those "someone says something funny, and my food comes flying out b/c I couldn't hold in my laughter" moments. (Let's go out for some french fries, sometime.)
4. I like people. Those who are transparent. I like being around those who like to laugh and eat. Those who have a story that they aren't afraid to share.
5. MUSIC. It has a way of making me dance one second, and balling my eyes out the next. (I'm currently jamming to Beautiful Eulogy, SSSS' GOOD!)
6. I LOVE ADVENTURES. I can't stress this enough. From car rides to climbing mountains to roaming streets. I enjoy it all. (plus, I consider anything an adventure, so let's go!!)
7. Ugly grandpa sweaters. Enough said.
8. Photographs. I grew up with a Dad who always captured beautiful moments, and I've learned to do the same.
9. I'm Assyrian and very cultured. From the exaggerated story telling, fast talking while using my hands, to the aroma of the greatest food you'll ever have. Yes, I love being middle-eastern.
10. Honestly, I'm doing this more for the Ruth, 6 months from now. For her to look back and see where God took her and what He exposed to her.
So, this is mostly for me, than for you, but having company is good.
