I'm definitely late but I did want to share my son for RvB OC Week !
Agent Vermont received special permission to join Project Freelancer at the age of 16 when his father was hired on as the head of surgery for the MOI.
[Nepo Baby by Fox Szn plays]
As it turns out, being a minor enlisted in a highly experimental government program is not all it is cracked up to be.
Upon admission, Agent Vermont was barred from combat due to "liability concerns". So instead, a frustrated Vermont served his country by planning missions and becoming the human test subject for all novel surgeries of the program.
After the fall of MOI, Vermont flees to the farthest corner of the galaxy imaginable- a planet called Chorus
While on Chorus, Agent Vermont (now going by Monty) becomes aligned with the New Republic of Chorus. Monty's history and knowledge of logistics and mission planning serve the army well, but raise red flags for the army's hired help.

My final late submission to the RvB OC Week, for day 6: relationships!
Ali and Kris, as members of the Reds and Blues respectively, end up forming really strong relationships with everyone in the blood gulch crew. What this means, practically speaking, is that they participate in a lot of shenaniganry throughout the course of the series.
To start, Ali and Kris are of course very close. The cousins grew up together, and then having been through so much together as adults- the glassing of their planet, their time as freelancers, and everything beyond... Their bond is probably the closest in their lives. During their tenure in blood gulch, even before the formation of a more amicable familiarity between the reds and blues, the cousins spent a lot of time together. They essentially have a relationship akin to siblings, full of playful bickering and teasing, but a very deep trust and understanding of one another.
(This is mostly a collection of some of my old (really, really old) doodles and drawings with some additions and edits thrown in. transcript as an antidote to poor handwriting beneath the cut, plus details on each relationship!)
Ali and Donut:
Ali, staring at red base's curtains: No, you're right actually. Chantilly lace was the move. Donut: O! M! G! Right? It adds so much more natural light!
Donut is probably Ali's best friend on the red team. At first, she found his bubbly demeanour a little exhausting, but quickly grew to appreciate his genuine nature and his spirited can-do attitude. It's a lesser known fact that Ali spent part of their childhood living on a farm- but it was definitely a bonding point between them. They'll sometimes just sit and complain about horses being idiots who try to self-destruct at the slightest provocation, or chickens having bloodthirsty rage within their hearts, or cows trying to kick you in the head while you try to help deliver their babies. Ali is also the only member of red team willing to engage with Donut's ideas for interior design and fashion- mainly because she considers it an important factor in everyone's morale, and eschews the military ideals of uniformity. They often encourage him to keep being his bright and individual self... which is much-needed among a team of party-poopers. Donut, in turn, tries to encourage Ali to be just as bold as him- especially important when their social anxiety gets the better of them.
Kris and Tucker:
Tucker: Hey, baby. Do you have a map? Cause I just got lost in your eyes. Kris, filling up a water gun: Tucker, I'm literally wearing my helmet.
Tucker is Kris' best friend on blue team, despite his incessant habit of practicing his shitty pickup lines on her (Kris actually finds it kind of charming, though she'd never admit it to him). They had a rocky start, with Tucker having a rigid idea of how he was "supposed to" interact with women that generally just made every conversation stupid and uncomfortable while he tried to perform masculinity. But with time, and a few serious and hard conversations about women being normal people, he relaxed, and they eventually managed to settle into a normal friendship- full of dirty jokes, lighthearted banter, and "fake" flirting. Never mind the fact that it feels kind of real. They're just friends. Normal friends. They just hang out, shoot the shit, play video games or take bets on the outcome of whatever new shenanigans are happening around them. Kris is the only one Tucker trusts to help braid his hair. And Kris was willing to be around the same species and culture of alien that had glassed her home planet, just to make sure Tucker was safe. Tucker made Kris the godmother of his child, she reciprocated by helping him learn some of that child's language (again, the language of a people who destroyed her home). When they were split up after Blood Gulch, Kris picked up saying 'bow chicka bow wow' to fill the space Tucker left. and it's all very, totally platonic.
Kris and Caboose
Freinds 4 Evr: Cris + Cabose
If Church wasn't Caboose's best friend, Kris would be next in line for the position. She's really well accustomed to the quirks of living with people who have working memory issues- Ali's ADHD has made sure of that, let alone her time in CANDIV- so she typically does her best to lend a hand when Caboose needs it, instituting a few memory aid systems around the base, and being patient when he has difficulty remembering and understanding things. She's also careful to treat him with respect and kindness, and encourage others to do the same- even if they don't often listen. In a lot of ways, Kris kind of feels like another big sister to him. He also really enjoys giving her piggybacks, and playing roadtrip games or singing songs together when they're travelling or waiting around for long periods of time. Kris also does art as a hobby, so Caboose will often sit and paint or draw alongside her, they'll chat about whatever is on their minds, and when they're done they'll hang their art in the base side by side.
Ali and the Director
Why the CANDIV Agents really rebelled from PFL: as told by Agent Alberta Ali: Director, this ship needs chicken nuggets ASAP. Director: Fuhk you, ayjunt.
Bafflingly, Ali was the CANDIV agent most often in charge of relations with the Director and Counsellor. Despite not being one of the team's leaders, she had both the ability to pick up on Vibes and nonverbal information, and to tolerate their weird and frankly irritating style of conducting themselves (the Counsellor's unbridled therapyspeak and the Director's bitchiness)... which tended to rub everyone else in CANDIV the wrong way. Not that it didn't, you know, also irritate her sometimes. The Director, for his part, just kind of wanted to study Ali like a bug, as he did all the freelancers.
Kris and Ali and Wash + Carolina
Carolina: How did Ali and Nova go so long undetected? They must be incredible at espionage to have fooled you. Wash, remembering: Uh huh, yep, totally! Past!Wash: You guys seem familiar... are you sure we haven't met? Past!Ali, wearing a shirt that says "NOT A FREELANCER": Past!Kris, wearing a shirt that says "REGULAR SIM-TROOPER": Certain! As you can see by our shirts, we are not freelancers! Past!Wash: Hard to argue with that logic!
As shown in my fic covering Season 6, Wash had no idea Ali and Kris were former freelancers, despite a brief feeling of familiarity when they first met. It helped, of course, that he had a lot on his plate, and the literal Alpha AI was there stealing the show. But at the end of Season 8, Ali and Karys finally revealed themselves when they offered him a chance to do the same as them- to fake his death, hide from the authorities, and take on a new sim trooper identity. The way they explained it to him, they were of the opinion that freelancers shouldn't be made to take the fall for the crimes the Director and Counsellor committed, or the things they had to do to survive the Project's bullshit. They helped coach him a bit on how to really sell it, acting like the dumbest of asses, and helped to set him at ease with the knowledge that it really could be over. Then Carolina showed up and was baffled by the three highly trained special ops agents playing capture the flag and recreationally bickering over which team had the superior kill count.
...they'll get her too, eventually. They just need to catch her first, which is hard because she's speedy.
Kris + Ali and Wash
Kris' Imagination!Ali, swooning: ooh wash~ Kris' Imagination!Wash: how are you bending like that Real!Ali: Kris I will literally kill you Real!Kris: No you won't <3
Ali has... a soft spot for Wash. Kris likes to tease them about it. They tease back about her "totally platonic" relationship with Tucker. You know, psychological warfare among cousins.
In truth, Ali and Wash are friends- beyond the whole "learning how to de-freelancer" thing they do with Kris, sometimes Wash just needs the opportunity to complain about the members of blue team, or Ali needs to complain about the members of red team, or they just "need" to practice shooting bottles off the side of a cliff. Sometimes Wash will let Ali infodump about whatever thing she's hyperfocused on in the moment. Sometimes they'll swap stories- usually the embarrassing ones. Both of them are socially awkward, but there's a comfort in both knowing the other person is awkward, too, and not judging you- and that makes it a bit easier. Whether or not they'd ever be more than friends isn't worth complicating matters.
Church + Kris and Ali
Ali, standing on top of red base: I think DOGS should VOTE! Church: Yo Kris! Your red buddy's being weird again!
Kris and Ali firmly hold that Church is a bit of a dick- but they've grown fond of him, anyway. Church, for his part, really finds the cousins weird and a little exasperating, much as he does every other member of the canyon- but he also has a weird sense of familiarity with them he can't seem to shake. He enjoys talking shit with Kris and Tucker, and finds Ali the second most tolerable member of red team after Grif. He also still doesn't really get why Ali hasn't converted to blue team considering how much she hangs around their base, but she sometimes brings snacks from Grif's stash and fixed Sheila with parts stolen from Sarge's stash for them a couple times, so he only complains a relatively normal amount. When they lived together in Outpost 48-A for a year, he spent a lot of time having awkward conversations with them, serving as an extra pair of hands while they worked on projects around the base, and being subjected to attempted shooting lessons from them to fix his terrible aim. He was, frankly, really ready for a break from them by the time Wash and Caboose showed up.
There's of course an underlying layer to the relationship here- Ali and Kris know that Church is the Alpha, they put it together very early on in their time in Blood Gulch. After discovering a little bit of what was done to make the fragments, the CANDIV freelancers definitely started to consider the Alpha as "one of them"- so the two decided to make it a priority to keep him safe and give him some semblance of freedom where possible.
Ali and Grif
Ali, slamming open the doors: Sarge wants us to start eating healthy! Grif, panicking: Oh, god, hide the snacks!
Ali and Grif have a strong solidarity in avoiding work at all costs- though their motivations are very different. They also have a shared love of snacks, and a desire to be as laid-back as possible. The problem comes in what can essentially be summed up as "Ali is messy, Grif is dirty". In this sense, they actually clash over the way the common space is- or isn't- maintained, which drives Simmons nuts because they're both filthy in his eyes. They'll cover for each other to try and help in the ever-present task of evading Sarge's orders, and they'll share their respective snack stashes- within reason. And occasionally, for brief periods of uncommon motivation, they'll have a war over high scores in whatever video game is in vogue for them. The score for Rainbow Road on the team's wii is still occasionally revisited to this day.
Simmons + Ali and Kris
Simmons, staring through the doorway: Ali, perched on top of the fridge, handing a bag of chips down to Kris standing on a step stool: <- red fucking handed
Quite frankly, Simmons doesn't understand how Sarge hasn't branded Ali as a traitor and given her a shotgun court-martial. He comes so close to reporting them every time they bring a blue into their base, and especially when they feed her Grif's snacks. But every time, he's given the excuse that Ali is "cementing their in with the enemy for better infiltration and deception"- and every time, it gives him just enough pause that he never says anything to any of the other reds. What if he's wrong? What if she really is gathering valuable intel? The blues clearly tolerate her hanging around their base, so she is actually in an excellent position to infiltrate them when it's needed most. It drives him nuts that she has a point, and it infuriates him to no end that she can use it as an excuse to get out of work, and Sarge still seems to think she's an excellent soldier. He secretly desires nothing more than to prove they're an incompetent phony compared to him.
Ali thinks Simmons is hilarious. They know he seethes about everything they do- and that he also thinks he's more competent than them. If ever he tries to trip them up or make them look like a fool, they'll sometimes let the sim trooper facade of idiocy fall just for him- just long enough to take anything he throws at them in stride. They're also the one who helped Sarge turn him into a part-cyborg, which just serves to make the beef that much funnier to them.
Ali + Kris and Kris' garden
Ali, carrying a cabbage, sprinting past a sign that says "GARDEN, KEEP OUT!": Kris, aiming a gun at them:
The garden Kris maintains out back of Blue Base is her pride and joy. Every time a member of blue team is eating a plant, Kris watches like a hawk to ensure seeds are saved and replanted- she has meticulously pulled every seed off an entire shipment of strawberries before allowing anyone to eat them. She's chewed Church out for ordering seedless grapes from command. The plants growing there are named, lovingly tended to each morning and evening, and ensure her ability to maintain a vegetarian diet. The plants are her babies.
Ali hangs around Blue Base so often at this point, the fighting is just a formality. In order to keep up the facade, at some point during every visit, Ali will attempt to steal a fruit or vegetable out of the garden, and Kris will attempt to stop them. Usually, it's somewhat tame- a minor heist that's easily thwarted, or a clean getaway after a suitable distraction. However, every once and a while it's instead akin to a fight for the flag, just with a carrot instead of a piece of coloured fabric. Kris has, in fact, shot Ali with live rounds over a cauliflower before. They had full shields, but still.
Kris and Lopez
Kris: So, they crashed the jeep again? Lopez: si. Kris: After you just fixed it? Lopez: si. Kris: That's messed up. Lopez: si.
Kris has a weirdly amicable relationship with Lopez. He likes her most out of everyone in the entire canyon- probably mostly because she doesn't pretend to know what he's saying, but doesn't ignore him, either... and she has a dry sense of humour he really appreciates. They kind of get along on a system of "si or no" whenever they interact.
Ali and Sarge
Sarge, pointing at a "Red Team Victory Scheme V.37.23" poster: Ali, I need you to- Ali, walking past: Sorry, sir, have to spy on the blues. Sarge: Huh. What a dedicated soldier.
Sarge genuinely thinks Ali is his best soldier, aside from Lopez. It helps that Ali, being from a military family, knows exactly how to "yes, and" military guys to make them think you're on their side, and whatever you've suggested is their idea. It also helps that she's teamed up with Kris to run the long con. While Sarge looks at Ali fondly, and holds her up as a shining example of red team loyalty, Ali is actively working to prevent the red team from ever making a successful combat move against the blues. She feeds just enough information that they constantly have to be changing their plans of attack, regularly claims the blues are "unexpectedly on patrol" to force them to abort a mission, and just generally manipulates things to avoid open conflict. Despite everything, though, she kind of looks at him like a vaguely annoying yet still beloved grandfather- and when they work together to rebuild Simmons as a cyborg, or create a robotic vessel for a "ghost", or just revamp the chupathingy... she can't help but be a little fond of the kooky old guy. Especially when she acknowledges that he, like the rest of them, is a victim of the military and Project Freelancer's manipulation and exploitation. She hopes that one day, she'll be able to get him to acknowledge that enough to be someone other than a rank.
Ali and Doc + O'Malley
Ali, with bloodstained hands and blood splatters on their armour, looking haunted: I've seen more of Tucker today than I ever wanted to. O'Malley, similarly bloodstained and fist-pumping: Muahaha! Excellent! We can exploit this weakness! Ali: O'Malley, if you find a way to weaponize Tucker in active labour, I will gladly surrender there and then.
Ali and Doc really don't know what to think of each other. They're both medically inclined- and sometimes they can have a good conversation about patient relations or wound care practices. But sometimes Doc says some truly ridiculous thing that highlights the fact that he very much failed medical school, and Ali really has to bite their tongue as they try to gently correct him. Doc, for his part, finds it a little annoying that Ali has to criticize so much- who's the qualified medic, here, after all?- but does appreciate the extra hand for the treatment he's doing when needed. After he was possessed by O'Malley, their weird half-amicable-coworkers, half-baffled-and-irritated dynamic kind of got cranked up even further. During periods when O'Malley kind of establishes himself as a minimal threat, Ali just kind of smiles and nods at his evil rants and makes polite conversation with him and Doc. Sometimes their dynamic turns into something resembling a spray bottle wielder and a cat- no threats of murder while we're delivering a baby, man, cut it out!
At the end of the day though- Doc is a pacifist medic in a war zone, even one as ridiculous as Blood Gulch, and Ali really respects that. And the fact that Ali doesn't actually fear O'Malley much has earned her his respect, and Doc's, in turn.

to close out OC week: energy sword sunday
Vine doesn鈥檛 have a special key/sword or anything fancy. because he鈥檚 a mechanic, though, he enjoys tinkering with his armor. half-made projects can be found underneath his bed and around the tool cases. he likes to try and add little power-ups to his armor; extra jump boost in the knees, fancy plate releases, and even custom hinges that act like built-in braces for his joints have been added to his armor at some point in time.
his wrench and hammer can certainly be a dangerous combo though ;)

This took entirely too long to finish because I wanted to give them pretty outfits, and I know nothing of fashion, so I re-drew the clothes like a dozen times, and I finally don't hate it at least, so I'm done!
ANYWAY, what's this? Is that Tucker and Poppy? Yeah... I didn't plan this. I had many different scenarios for how Poppy meets the other characters, some in small groups, a few one-on-one. The real defining relationships I had in mind for her was giving Red Team a new person (they get so few), it was really important that she meets Sarge first when he's missing his boys (but doesn't want to admit it), and when she joins the group, Simmons THINKS he's gonna hate her, but nah- they just vibe (he in particular doesn't have a buddy except for Grif, he needs another friend!). Yes, Poppy is also a secret (fake) Freelancer, but she wasn't involved with the main shenanigans back in the day, so she doesn't have a strong past connection to Wash and Carolina (but Red Team is still proud they finally got their own Freelancer, even if she wasn't "official"!). The way I had her meet Tucker; Sarge wants somebody to give an example of Freelancer training to the soldiers he's working with (not yet knowing that Poppy was part of that). Wash and Carolina are busy... but, hey! Tucker went through that kind of training, and he's got the calves to prove it! Tucker arrives a little early, planning on making a cool entrance... and then he falls down a hill. Poppy is the only one around at the time, so she helps him back to his feet, and promises not to tell anybody what happened. When she introduces herself, she uses her first name, so he returns in kind- Lavernius. As the training demonstration goes on, Tucker and Poppy occasionally make quiet little sarcastic comments the others don't hear, and when Tucker says something that makes her laugh, Poppy happily tells him- "Hey, you're funny!". Tucker isn't used to people appreciating his quips, so he has a little moment where he goes... "I am?"
WHOOPS. That was cute. I didn't plan on that being so cute. I really didn't. It just happened. Now I had the problem of imagining how far they could go with this. Honestly, I was a little hesitant to have an established character in a relationship with one of my OCs... it felt almost arrogant or something, like- look at my OC, she's so special, and this cool character LOVES HER. It also felt like I was being dismissive to other relationships people like that involve Tucker (which is a lot, because he is indeed a lover-boy). So, even as I continued to think about my RVB story-line, I kinda kept anything with Tucker and Poppy off-to-the-side in my head. They kept being cute, though. He really decided- "I will prove how mature and polite I am capable of being by NOT hitting on the first new girl we've had in the group", and then he caught FEELINGS. He doesn't know what to do with those when they're SERIOUS. It really doesn't need to be so complicated, though; Poppy likes him right away. She knows she going to fall in love with him, and when she does, she just waits for him to kinda catch up. There are a lot of things they wind up sharing, including humor, quiet moments, comfort. They show each other their favorite movies, they ask "what is something you never got to do when you were younger?" and then help each other do those things (and Tucker feels what it's like when somebody is interested in you with a soft and slow kind of passion, that can still be fun and playful. not only did I realize how cute they could be... I realized how much Poppy would adore him. Tucker doesn't have to do any flirty smooth-talking, or prove anything to her. she wants him to know how much she appreciates being able to listen to him talk, being able to hold him, being able to share this closeness, and what it really means for her, who has never been drawn to anybody before, or even felt lonely for something she didn't care if she might be missing. they're both together now, and nobody has to miss anything~)
Tucker is standing in front, with Poppy behind him, She has her arms wrapped around his waist, one hand on his hip, the other hooking her fingers to the hem of his pants. Poppy is leaned over slightly, pressing her face to the crook of his neck, kissing him where the skin is exposed. Tucker has one hand raised in a thumbs-up, the other holding Poppy's arm at the wrist. One of Tucker's legs is raised slightly, where Poppy's knee brushed against his inner thigh. He has a proud smile on his face, giving a wink. Tucker has short black hair, warm-dark brown skin, and tiny double stud silver earrings. His shirt has a loose unbuttoned collar, with the sleeves rolled up above his elbow. The color is mostly dark-teal, with a pattern similar to celestial/astrology circles and stars in a lighter aqua. His long-sleeved under shirt is a vibrant peach tone. His pants are a pale cream color with a darker shade from the knees-down, with short boots that are a foggy-gray. Poppy is wearing a top that is styled like an a-symmetrical vest in a pale seashell white, with a wrapped sash around her waist that is a dusty rose color. Her skirt is a gradient of turquoise/yellow/pink in pastel colors, with dark mauve leggings, and short red boots with buttons on the side. Poppy has a sandy-tan skin tone, and long brown hair with lengths parted in the center and swept back from her face. Her expression is relaxed and pleased

so I've scooted blogs but this is still @sharkface-daydreams with Sharkface brainrot <3
it has been such a week but the Day 5 "what did of chorus is your oc on" made me grin bc i have an "oh my God they were roomcellmates" AU for Arkansas and Sharkface hehe

Chorus pirate armor, code name Haze 馃憜
I guess i don't have much drawn of him, but he's a second-tier Freelancer who goes missing during a mission, captured by actual Insurrectionists and injured so badly in the fight and by careless goons he winds up with a concussion and amnesia that takes a while to resolve.
Ends up working with the Insurrectionists for a little while as he recovers since they've got his PFL armor and everything anyway. UNSC snags him and his group and he's charged with desertion, aiding and abetting, loss/misuse of military equipment (never mind that it was taken from him while he was unconscious) and locked up for a while.
He ends up on the Tartarus being shipped to god knows where, but it didn't matter really. His home had gotten glassed halfway through his tenure as a freelancer. Ends up getting along with Sharkface and they put the two of them in the same cell like they're assigning Cade to be Sharky's emotional support dog (he's able to keep him from maiming and biting other prisoners so yeah basically lol)
Neither of them know they're technically supposed to be enemies. :3c Felix and Locus scoop them up for freelance hunting, Cade nearly tears Prices head off when he learns what they did to the ai, they continue on for a bit until Cade has a crisis of conscience and defects to the New Feds. unfortunately nothing will convince Sharkface to come too.
It's only later when he finds out Sharkface's old boss is behind all this that he tries again to get him over to their side. It kind of works, but Sharkface will not work with the other two freelancers and loves reminding them he's not doing this for anyone but Cade, and for himself

RVB OC WEEK: DAY 7 ENERGY SWORD SUNDAY
While I don't normally imagine any of the Clovers getting their hands on an energy sword, Great Key or otherwise, it is a fun visual to play with and I think if I was going to give one to any of them, it would be Ivia She.... isn't the most conventional user of a sword though
THANK YOU TO @rvbocweek2025 FOR PLANNING AND HOSTING THIS OC WEEK!! It was a joy to have such fun prompts to draw with my little homemade blorbos, and its been great checking out everyone else's colorful little guys!!!

day 6 of RvB OC week: relationships
Vine is close and loyal to the other mechanics. as one of the ones working on the MoI the longest, the newer mechanics look up to her. she's not the warmest or outwardly friendly, but her honesty and directness earn her respect from her crewmates. they're family to her, and the bunch of them will spend late nights trading stories and playing games when they can. they look out for each other, especially since Vine is known for having bad joints. they're quick to give her the chair with the cushion or bring the knee braces, and in return, she's patched them all up a number of times.

Part Three of my late submissions of RvB OC week! Day 3: Project Freelancer and Charon Industries
I chose this day to introduce the rest of the Canadian Division of PFL, whose origins I discussed in my first post.
Agent New Brunswick (he/them), also known as Brunie and Newb, are a DID system consisting of Matt and Jean-Luc Harper, respectively. Matt, the protector alter, is a CQC specialist, and his weapons of choice are a shotgun and combat knives. Jean-Luc, the host, rarely fronts in combat, but typically takes on a stealth role when he does, preferring to use pistols. Their armour is installed with a strength enhancement module. During their downtime, Jean-Luc enjoys baking and cooking, which he finds relaxing, while Matt likes to let off steam by lifting weights and going on runs through the ship.
Quote: "A bilingual clusterfuck who still somehow manages to be the most generic of the provinces. Guess our name's fitting."
(the picrew I used for these is unfortunately no longer available, but the artist is on tumblr at this link!)
Agent Prince Edward Island (he/him), also known as Prince, is Mark Rowe, an assault specialist with OCD. His compulsions stem off the number three, so he exclusively uses a battle rifle, which fires in three-round bursts, and bases his combat rhythm off timing in threes. His armour is installed with an EMP module. In his off-hours, Mark can be found making friendship bracelets for the team, convincing everyone with long hair to let him braid it, and knitting.
Quote: "I kinda think I was assigned this name because they clocked me. Not sure whether to be mad or flattered by the comparison."
Agent Newfoundland (he/him), aka Newf, is Angus Moore, a stealth specialist with GAD. This anxiety generally means he's extremely on guard, keeping hyperaware of all the variables and moving parts in a situation going on around him until he sees the perfect time to strike- moving in hard and fast with his pistols and combat knives. His armour is installed with a speed enhancement unit. During down-time, Angus plays the violin, which he credits for a lot of his manual dexterity, and keeps fish- a meticulous job full of checking water chemistry and tank cleanliness, but worth it to be able to watch them swim around.
Quote: "My social anxiety does not extend to situations where my fish are involved. I'll start a tilly gladly if you mess with them. Or rant for an hour if you ask."
Agent Quebec (he/him) is Eli Levesque, one of two leadership specialists in CanDiv. Eli's autism means that he communicates very clearly and directly- which ensures the team operates with very little room for misunderstanding. He prefers to lead from the front, where he can "feel" the situation, so favours an assault rifle and SMG, and his armour is installed with a healing unit. In between missions, Eli takes every chance he can to socially depressurize- he can usually be found in an observation room watching the stars, or alone in his quarters painting. Even though he doesn't bother to mask as much with the team, he can never seem to let it go entirely unless he's by himself, and he definitely needs time somewhere quite to recover from an overstimulating career.
Quote: "Turns out autistic people make pretty good leaders when we're not catering to neurotypicals. Funny, that."
Agent Ontario (she/her), or "auntie", is Laura Foster, the second of the two leadership specialists in CanDiv. Laura has schizophrenia, which manifests as blunted affect and auditory hallucinations of voices "reminding" her about things happening around her and help her to keep everything straight on the battlefield, so she gives very even-keeled and organized orders. She prefers to lead from above, where she can obtain better tactical information, so she wields a battle rifle and sniper rifle, and her armour is installed with a bubble shield module. During days off, she enjoys drawing, where she usually sketches surrealist art pieces reflecting her emotions, and baking with other members of the team (partially an excuse to watch food being made, which she finds relaxing).
Quote: "My ODST squad used to think it was incredible that I never got scared on drops. I didn't have the heart to tell them it was just blunted affect and I was terrified."
Agent Nunavut (she/them) is Amaudla Kalluk, an autistic recon specialist. They were raised a hunter, with a very formulaic understanding of both human and animal behaviour that they apply to enemies they observe on missions. Being frequently nonverbal, Amaudla often communicates through Inuit Sign Language and facial expression- though on missions, she instead will use an instant messaging system connected to her neural interface. She favours a DMR and shotgun combo, and her armour is installed with an adaptive camouflage system. On her off-time, she enjoys playing the flute and making jewellery, as well as doing photography when she can- though living in a space where most operations are classified makes that difficult.
Quote: "Talking's overrated. I have better things to do."
Agent Manitoba (she/her), aka Toba, is Rumaisa Badr, an infiltration specialist with OCD. Though they make her miserable in a lot of ways, her compulsions mean she has become extremely procedural and meticulous when she's doing infiltration work, with a lot of hyperattention to detail, which also means she's extremely effective. She uses SMGs and pistols, and her armour is installed with an adaptive camouflage system. In her free time, Rumaisa sews, bakes, and builds small robotics projects- usually things that allow her to train her fine motor control and precision. She also has a bad habit of compulsively doing maintenance on everyone's equipment.
Quote: "In your space marine helmet, nobody can hear you tic alhamdulillah."
Agent Northwest Territories (they/them), aka Terri, is Max Davis, an assault specialist with bipolar I disorder. Their manic and hypomanic states make them extremely confident and effective on the battlefield, a bit of a force of nature- though that comes at the cost of recklessness and chaos, as well as their performance suffering during depressive spells. They favour SMGs and a shotgun, and their armour is installed with a speed enhancement unit. Max has many, many hobbies- they play electric guitar, they paint, they play video games, they exercise... and they bake and cook, if with a teammate- they have binge eating disorder and don't trust themself around food otherwise, but they're an incredible chef.
Quote: "Someone has to keep things interesting around here. That's why you need my chaotic ass."
Agent Saskatchewan (he/him), aka Sask, is Keasik Calihoo, an assault specialist with ADHD-HT. His hyperactivity means he's become very good at processing a lot of things at once, and his impulsiveness means he adapts quickly to changing circumstances and will charge into the thick of a fight without hesitation. Keasik favours a classic assault rifle and magnum combo, and his armour is equipped with a healing unit. In his downtime, he likes to bead, play video games, and sometimes play pranks on his fellow agents- though he has to be careful lest it spiral into a vicious war.
Quote: "I'm pretty sure ass-kicking and chocolate milk need to be added to the list of sacred medicines."
Agent British Columbia (he/him), aka B.C. or Beece, is Shaun Park, a CQC specialist with ASPD. Without the ability to feel empathy for his enemies, and a tendency towards reckless lack of self-preservation, he doesn't hesitate in combat. He prefers leaning into intimidation tactics to scare his enemies shitless and give himself a leg up tactically, so employs the use of flamethrowers and combat knives when feasible, as well as his standard pistol sidearm, and also makes use of his armour's enhanced strength module. In his downtime, Shaun is a bit of a recluse, having social anxiety, but he can usually be lured out to play chess, to work out with Brunie or Terri, or to join in on a cooking session.
Quote: "I don't even like fire that much. But when stereotypes give you a convenient intimidation factor like this, you can't really pass it up."
Agent Yukon (he/them), aka Yuke, is Luke Marquez, an autistic infiltration specialist. Luke has an encyclopedic knowledge of locks, computers, and security alarm systems- they're his special interest, and he can get himself into just about anywhere. The problem comes when they're faced with the combat part of the job- Luke has such severe anxiety surrounding violence after accidentally killing someone in basic training that they essentially become nonfunctional in combat situations. Their armour is fitted with active camouflage, so in a combat scenario they generally just hide and continue working on infiltration or sabotaging enemy systems. In his downtime, he generally knits, crochets, and studies computer systems and lockpicking. They're also frequently recruited to pranks-based shenanigans whenever Sask starts something again.
Quote: "I don't think I can ever shoot someone again. But I can still sabotage their equipment so you guys can do it for me."
I haven't gotten around to writing anything with these guys yet, so they're still not the most fleshed out- but the intention is for their dynamic to be close-knit and accepting, trying to work with each others' neuroses and challenges, but also being dysfunctional and messy sometimes as is unavoidable in life. Sometimes Terri, Beece, and Sask encourage the worst parts of each others' impulsive and reckless habits. Sometimes Eli and Laura's blunt leadership style rubs people the wrong way. Sometimes the more chaotic members of the team clash with the more anxious ones, generating stress and conflict for everyone. Sometimes, despite everyone's best efforts, people are going to have bad mental health days that make it difficult, even impossible for them to work. They're an imperfect, messed up little family that are allowing themselves to be used because have nowhere else to go- or at least believe they don't. And when they finally realize the full extent of the exploitation they're about to be subjected to... well, they bite back hard and rip Project Freelancer a new one.
We hear about the Freelancers' "uprising" in canon, trying to free the Alpha and such, but we're only ever really shown Tex and York's one break-in. Personally, I choose to say there's more to it than that, that we never see- and CanDiv is part of the fun.

@rvbocweek2025 day 6 - Relationships
Ironmonger had spent a bit of time with Reds after the whole JRvVB incident, so let's look at his relationships!
Ironmonger and Doc were briefly an item back in school, and Iron was happy to try reignite the spark when he saw the medic again. The whole 'evil AI' wasn't a problem, he actually becomes quite the fan of O'Malley and likes the idea of two boyfriends in one.
As for the other Reds...
Donut develops a sort of jealous rivalry with Iron for stealing away Doc. It mostly involves petty inconveniences that start to escalate.
Simmons becomes paranoid of Ironmonger trying to steal his robot parts.
Sarge gets along with him like a house on fire, and there is a lot of machinery in the house. (Lopez becomes paranoid Iron will install human parts into him)
Grif dislikes that Iron likes work, and keeps trying to drag him into working.

RVB OC WEEK: DAY 6 Relationships
It's a big colony, but sometimes it feels like a pretty small world.
Anton Pavoz and Antoine Bitters are bitter (haha) exes, and were good friends long before they started dating. It all started with a joke over their very similar names-- which lead to the nicknames AK-47 for Anton and AB-Negative for Antoine. Or An and Tonny, depending on if you weren't in the loop enough for 'Forty-seven' and 'Negs' Obviously, it went sour, and reuniting after being on opposing sides of this dang civil war hasn't exactly been sunshines and rainbows for either of them.
That's not a denial, Anton

RVB OC WEEK : DAY 5 CHORUS!!!!!!!!!!!
I mightve over done it the past few days and ran out of steam for a bigger piece like i wanted to do, but that's okay because Chorus just means the Clovers get to be themselves!! So, doodle page of just some of the mischief that happens in the Federal Army of Chorus there is so much mischief to be had, with these unlucky (or lucky?) bastards including but not limited to:
Neko jail (deserved), Anton can't catch a break and Ivia has the only braincell of the bunch... until a pretty girl is involved
On their breaks, or when they get a chance while out on patrol, they like to try and find wildlife-- Ivia knows where to look, Anton does field sketches, and Neko has picked up a handful of calls to help coax some shyer critters out of hiding! In short? They're a bunch of nerds who thrive when left alone to wander
-
fun facts: - Anton's favorite fountain pen was a gift from General Doyle, before he was general. It's not something Anton would brag about, but he's very fond of that pen. It's got a pretty gold plated body and has the best drag over his journal pages - Ivia had signed up for a xenobiology class with Dr Grey in Armonia before everything went to hell in a hand basket, and the humor of them both being medics in the FAC is not lost on Ivia-- she's brought the good doctor coffee before while they were in the same base, but didn't have the courage to bring up the class... maybe next time! - Neko is good at finding sniper perches. Like really good. Unfortunately good. Seriously, if he would just learn to use the damn rifle, he could be a force to be reckoned with, he just...won't use a damn sniper rifle
