“alright-- hear me out,” iori began seriously, eyeing all their groupmates. “every idol group comes to schedules in those black vans. it’s tired. it’s boring. it’s a thing of the past. i say, for our next group schedule, we rent a party bus. with the ugly 80s shag rug from floor to ceiling and everything. what could go wrong?” @rvlixue @rvyoungki @rvbeomsoo @rvsehwan @rvmindeulle​ @rvbomi​

“that’s not funny and i’m blocking you,” mo answered with a scoff, rolling their eyes. of all the promiss songs, that one was one of their least-hated ones, but god– mo wanted to just leave that period of their life behind completely. “it’s a cute sweater, though. with some nice hoops i think that could look super chic.”

“who would enable your nihilistic tendencies if you did that, though?” iori retorted, snorting. “i thought so too! and a red lipstick.... new age has been trying to get me to tone down the makeup, but...fuck it,” they said, shrugging. their gender expression was largely masculine, but that didn’t mean they didn’t like feminine aspects. plus the rest of distich-b wore lip products. it wasn’t iori’s fault if they happened to like bright red, instead of... tasteful nude or whatever

iori and tomoe were close-- even now that they didn’t live together and were idols on their own separate paths, they made a point to facetime at least once every few days. iori had spent some of their free time that day going shopping, and they were in the midst of showing their twin the haul. “okay, this one.... i like,” said, holding up a sweater. “do you like? du du du du du du?” @yrvji​

“Oh, are you? Lucky for you, I can handle some intensity,” Sowon retorted, trying and failing to bite back the grin on his face. “We can work something out, I’m sure. It might have to be an apprenticeship kind of deal.”

“at this point, i’d be worried if you couldn’t,” iori quipped back, tapping on their lip idly while they smirked. “i’m okay with that. for a second there i thought this was going to turn into a porno, which i also wouldn’t be mad at, but eh.”

“Of course, it’s only natural to learn from the best~” Sowon said.  “A little tutoring could go a long way.”

“well, just so you know, i’m a very intense and dedicated teacher,” iori informed sowon, biting back a laugh. “and super in demand and all that. can’t work for free or anything..... gotta make sure it’s worth my while...”

“there’s been much cooler, i think. i just don’t want to be one of those celebrities who think their story is so interesting, when it’s really just a dime a dozen.”

“as long as you’re not pretentious about it, fans’ll be into it,” iori assured her. “they love you. they support you. they want to hear your story. there’s nothin wrong with sharing it with them.”

“We’re saving it for later, I don’t think you’re ready for it yet,” Sowon teased back. “Actually, I’m not ready yet. I need to work out more before we even do it.”

“well, i don’t know if you noticed, but that is right in my personal wheelhouse,” iori answered, grinning. “so like...if you need tips and tricks when the time comes, you know who to call~”

“i feel like having my directorial debut be the story of my own life is pretty egocentric, don’t you think?”

“maybe if you were normal and boring. but you have a pretty cool story to tell, i think.”

“i’m serious-- when is rewind doing a super sexy concept? as a loyal keepsake, i want some serious fanservice!” iori teased lightly. “aren’t you guys ready to reveal your badboy selves to the world?” @rvsowon​

beom paused and looked over at iori as soon as he heard their sudden jokes about himself, but couldn’t help but laugh at them. “do you not have anything else to do?”

iori pretended to take a moment to think before retorting with a cheerful, “no!” smile big on their face. “what, do you want me to stop? are my jokes penetrating straight to your feelings? i thought it would be more hard to upset you.”

“okay, listen beom, you can’t lose your head,” iori said seriously, arms crossed over their chest. “here’s a tip; you really need to stop being such a weenie.” // @rvbeomsoo​

“oh, there’s always someone else involved. usually just in the mastering, and helping put everything together. helping tweak the pieces i have and make them flow nicer. but we do get a lot of leeway, which is nice.”

“you guys getting so much control is totally a glitch in the simluation, but one that’s working out. good for y’all.”

“uhh it really depends on the song. but it’s the workflow that seems to work best for us,” nathan answered.

“oh, cool-- does spotlight ever make you guys work with producers or other songwriters? i’m just so interested in y’alls process. i can’t even really comprehend spotlight giving a group so much control.”
