( HEADCANONS -- ! ) 

i. SEXUALITY 

Rose most definitely sees herself as HOMOFLEXIBLE, meaning that she considers herself to be homsexual, but has had relationships with guys in the past. Her family was always supportive (after all, their lifestyle and ideals had always been incredibly liberal), so it was no trouble for her to come out to them. Some school years, however, bullying weren’t scarce; the kids took every chance they could find to tease her, calling her names and poke fun at her. After they moved, that was left in the past. People, much to Rose’s surprise, didn’t pay that much attention to her sexuality, and let her be. Nowadays, her sexuality is something she embraces and has no trouble talking about. 

ii. GENDER 

The concept of gender identity was something Rose never spent time thinking about. She grew up seeing girls and boys, and that was that. Later on (if you want a more specific date, around the time she started middle school), she began realizing she didn’t fully identify as a female. She never told anyone, that is, until middle school rolled around, and she became aware of the existence of more than just two genders. Rose is fully convinced that she is a DEMIGIRL.

Natasha grinned at the other female before puling her shirt off and tossing it to the ground before pulling her shorts off in the same manner. “I don’t know about a belly flop competition– sounds painful. Maybe we can do our best impression of Olympic swimmers instead.” 

“Surface tension is fascinating. It’s related to belly flops,” Rose gestured, trying to explain why she’d come to that thought. She couldn’t avoid laughing afterwards. “I’m pretty sure my attempt at an Olympic swimmer impression would end up in a belly flop.. either way, let’s try. Ready?”

Rose hesitated for a few moments, her gazed avoiding Nick at all times. The urge to smile was contained as her hand rummaged through her backpack in the search of the small lighter she’d bought at the supermarket a few days ago. Rose didn’t smoke that much, except for the occasional cigarette while taking a an evening walk. Her fingers finally clutched onto the tiny object, pulling it out like the claw crane from the arcade and handing it to other right after. “You can keep it if you wanna.”

Clicking his lighter a few times, it still refused to catch. Nick cursed under his breath as he shook it. Empty. Looking around, he caught the eye of someone close. “Got a light?” It was more conversation than he wanted to have, but he was the grieving nephew and communication was part of that.

“You must’ve looked BAD-ASS. I wish my school photos were as cool as that one. Mine is definitely, uhmmm...” Rose chuckled lightly upon finding the memory. “I was about twelve. There was this trendy haircut at time, similar to a bob haircut. I was beyond excited to try it out, so the day before the photo was taken, my mom got me to the closest hair stylist there was. The result was unlike anything I’d expected -- my head ended up looking like a huge mushroom.”

“When I was eight years old and we were supposed to take school pictures, I spent the entire day learning how to play on the monkey bars, mostly hanging upside down. Our last recess, right before the picture, I slipped off and fell right on my face. Got a nosebleed, two black eyes, and knocked out my front teeth. That’s my favorite school photo, to this day.  M’kay, your turn. Most embarrassing school picture. Go!”

“Not a fan of the whole Christmas thing, huh?” Rose joked. “What scares me is that, before we even realize it, they’ll start playing all those Christmas songs nonstop.”

“I have to admit that time does seem to be flying but..” Ravan’s nose wrinkled slightly, “Is it really appropriate to start planning for Christmas decor so early?”

“Hey, I just wanted to take a moment to enjoy the view. I’ll take that comment as ‘I’m not backing out’. That being said--” Rose smiled faintly as she popped off her shirt, showing the full swimming suit of a vintage cut in the most cheerful of colors: BLACK. Afterwads, she sort of jogged towards the edge, turning back to look at the brunette before, however. “Are you up for a belly flop competition?”
