in Windows 8, i tested this plug using SONAR X 3 PE, Samplitude, Music Creator Touch, P 5, ….

7.5 i tested this plug using Logic Pro 9, Cubase, and Garage Band. imho….the drums sounds are very good, they may be simple, yet they seem to sit well in a song. I did do various head to head sound comparisons with some other drum plugs that i have, this little freebie did came up favorably as a keeper …. i also ran the midi grooves through my other drum plugs, the mapping was OK for a quick testing session. being able to audition the various grooves and fills that match each other in the plug itself is a nice feature the included grooves are very good … i like the arranger section on the bottom where you can set up an arrangement of drum patterns and then drag them into the DAW as a midi file ….this makes for a very nice fast workflow …. the plug itself created a machine number, i then went online on different computer and put the newly created machine number into the online key gen …after hitting the submit button I was given a serial number for my machine … after placing that number in the plugs reg dialog box on my offline computer ….everything went smooth ….it registered my initial impressions so far are ….I like this drum plug very much …. the plug appears not to be stand alone so i ran my plugin mgr, it showed up then i inserted it into a blank project ….at that point I was asked to authorize it ….this was actually very painless …. the bottom link will bring you to the authorization page that has an online keygen….on that one I was like what ? anyway you do not have to be online with the computer the plug is on to authorize it so you don't have to install anything extra…. after following that link the top link will bring up the page where can pick up the full version for your OS. to get the unrestricted full version for free you need to hit the support button, this is the link you will get. i accidentally made the mistake of downloading the free version at first …. at first, the process is a little confusing, there are two versions of this drum plug …the free and the unrestricted version. here are my preliminary thoughts and impressions.

There is a company near Norwich where I got my XP laptop called Value Computers. I don't know much about those, but apparently they work reasonably well. Or you can invest in alternative software such as Vuescan or Silverfast which will allow you to use a Nikon Scanner or a Minolta version with Windows 10 on a laptop or desk top computer. I think from what I have seen there is not a flatbed scanner that will equal a dedicated film scanner for quality and sharpness The D Max of a Nikon Coolscan V is 4.2, the closest Flatbed is the Epson V800 which is 3.9. In addition the D Max of the Nikon is greater than any current flatbed and if you wish you can always scan in RAW, again which is not available in any current flatbed I know of.

The Digital ICE on the Nikon is in my opinion unsurpassed to get rid of dust and scratches. Using your Nikon scanner (if you still have it) will give you all the Nikon features that a Plustec doesn't have. If you get rid of all the other files that you do not really need in the XP Laptop, any antivirus can go, games can go and it will run surprisingly quickly. I scan and then save the files onto a memory stick from the 'Pictures' folder, then transfer the files to my desktop to be worked upon. Yes XP will still be 'unsupported' by Microsoft but it does not need to be connected to the internet and will work quite happily as it is and infinitum. I still use my Nikon Scanner with unmodified software! The answer is to buy a laptop which is still running Windows XP and use that solely for the scanner.
