“‘ave you seen a stack of guitar picks anywhere?” ryder asked, plucking his last one from between his teeth as he flopped down into one of mal’s booths. his guitar, which was strapped to his back, was now set aside leaning against the leather. “either jacks keeps stealing them all - not that i’m saying my best bud would take things from me,” he said with a lopsided grin, “but! they have all seem to be misplaced. all but one, of course,” he held up the emerald green pick between his fingers as his elbow was propped against the wooden tabletop, “gotta love envy. been with me from the start. it probably sounds dumb to get so attached to a piece of plastic, but hey, you gotta get your emotional support somewhere.” ryder said with a huff of a laugh, slumping back into the booth fully now as he looked up at the person across from him.

ryder didn’t always start his day with a coffee, but today was different; he needed a mid-afternoon caffeine kick to get him going again. it’d been a long day so he probably looked a little worn, but as he felt the tap against his shoulder, he met t he girl with a smile. “hi -” and she was off talking, and he couldn’t help but chuckle. “pretty specific change there, but yeah, for sure,” he said, digging his. wallet out of his back pocket and opening it up. “is that all ya need? i’ve got some coupons ...”
