I KEEP MY IDEALS AS WELL 😤😤😤😤
I ran 8 miles today!
This is the second time I've ever done that. Last weekend was the first time I've ever done that. When I started really training just 2ish months ago I couldn't imagine doing 8 miles
Also, new season of My Hero Academia started so that's another reason it's a good weekend

October Life Update, Korra Fitness

Sup, y’all!! Long time noooo post, but I have been truly working and busting my ass this semester lol
School is good!! We’re in the thick of it now (midterms are coming up), and...I’ve got to get to studying xD. It’s alright, though, I’m keeping up with my classes for ONCE. I had a REALLY hard time and still do, doing things on time and finishing schoolwork before it’s due, but I truly am trying my best to keep up with it!!
I don’t use my phone as much anymore, and I’ve been eating lots more than last semester (really trying to- I’ve been fucking carnivorous this week omfg lmfaooo). I’ve been sleeping well (there’s only been...3-ish days I’ve truly felt tired this semester? So, I’m quite thankful for that :).
I’m engaged in most of my classes (Creative Writing workshops where you critique others’ works...can make me lose attention, but that’s aight haha). I really am enjoying my classes a LOT more and really trying to learn and appreciate the material I’m learning. I’m taking Intermediate Acting, Hip-Hop, Advanced Humanities Honors class, a core writing workshop class for my English Major, and a creative writing class!! I’ve made GENUINELY FUCKING COOOL ass friends in those classes and I’m really thankful for them- each class is a blast and my friends make it all the better ;D
!! As much as I...try to focus on schoolwork haha...I do tend to get the best of myself. I’ve been popping into some ballroom dancing classes, just chilling- been hitting Hip-Hop, I’ve been LEARNING BREAKDANCING LMFAOO @justteamavatar it’s been a fuckig year since I said I wanted to do that xD) . SO- I cannot STRESS THE AMOUNT OF NEW STUFF IVE BEEN LEARNING!!! ITS ALL BEEN SOOO FUCKING MIRACULOUS AND WONDERFUL :). I’ve also been bouldering quite often and IT’S SO MUCH FUN!!! <3 it is amazing, and versatile and I’ve been learning a lot about how to challenge myself and just ducking going for it. I’ve also made some friends while rock-climbing, and it’s just so fucking fun and DIFFERENT every time you do it, and that’s what I needed in working out. Versatility and variety.?
And fam...IVE ALSO BEEN DOING DRAGON BOAT!!! I’m FINALLY joining my college team this semester and it’s been a ducking blast, through and through. Gliding through the water, thrusting your paddles in, feeling the surge of the boat...it is a phenomenal feeling I love. Also...it’s with a team. And, I think I’ve needed this for SOOO LONG.
As y’all know, I worked out a LOT back in 2017, but it tapered off. I’d always tried to force myself to get back into weightlifting, but it never worked. I realized, it’s because I was trying to force myself to work out...to get back to where I was in 2017. And now I’M BETTER THAN THAT. My legs are feeling muscley as fuck and my arms have NEVER- EVER- been more defined. I’m lighter than I was before, and I’m eating weller. SO...I’ve embraced working out as...a fun thing. With goals and such, but all in all, just having a FUCKING blast with yourself and friends. So...to have superseded a ghost of myself that I’ve been hunting down for years...to have become BETTER than that, just like Korra did...FAM IT IS PHENOMENAL. It feels like a chapter of my life, a worry, has been closed and I’m diving into a new one.
I’ve also joined the ballroom dancing team at school...haha...omfg. I also help organize monthly art events at the downtown art theatre...hAHAHhaaaa
But...I’ve also been writing and thinking a LOT MORE too. I’ve had to write 2 poems and gotta bust my butt to write essays for my writing workshop class!! It’s wonderful. I’ve always had some type of trouble writing consistently, but- this year and this semester has been and IS THE TIME TO BE CREATING SHIT. I’m thinking more creatively now than I ever have before and it is FUCKING AWESOME. So...to kill two birds with one stone (the fitness and creativity thing)... it’s fucking awesome :).
I still have my bad days and hard moments, and...that’s all there. But also, I’m recognizing the fucking BEAUTIFULNESS OF LIFEEEE I HAVE and it’s really fucking cool.
P.S. THE TWO YEAR FUCKING ANNIVERSARY OF KORRA FITNESS is on Wednesday. :’)

Happy 2-Year Anniversary to Korra Fitness! 10/16/2019 :D
stHaha, I meant to post this on 10/16, but now it’s 1:19 AM on 10/17/2019, oops.
Happy 2-Year Anniversary to Korra Fitness! <3 This movement started 2 years ago because some folks in the Korra fandom wanted to get fit and here we all are, 2 years later. :) I cannot- CANNOT- express the amount of joy and support this fandom and movement have given me, and how fucking happy and PROUD y’all make me.
To all of you who have stuck around for this long- thank you. thank you for continuing to get fit and working hard to improve yourselves- that’s a really tough task to do and you are all fucking amazing. there are no words to express how much this all means to me, to see everyone STILL getting inspired by something. i wanted to make Korra Fitness to help myself get fit, but it’s become- and still IS- a WONDERFUL place for the community to come together and support/motivate each other on their goals. thank you for all the love and inspiration that you all show, it’s so <33
I can’t describe how much it warms my heart to see a post or to hear that y’all are inspired by this- i can’t tell y’all how much it’s taught me about being a leader or to spread one’s light and energy everywhere. everytime you post a simple workout log/progress post, you’re not only inspiring yourself, but you’re inspiring an entire COMMUNITY of people. and someone might be inspired to work out too, and they might start posting their own progress- which might inspire someone else too. in whatever form, you’re inspiring others by being yourself and that’s something that should be celebrated, 100%. :)
I’m fucking PROUD of our movement and everything we’ve done so far- so, let’s keep on improving ourselves, in whatever form that is. :)
@avatarmuscles thanks for fucking STARTING this with me and being my #1 on this. you’re amazing :)
@valiantalpacapeach you’ve been posting from day one and are still doing so. your commitment is fucking amazing and we love you all so much
i cannot tag everyone because…oh man there are so many people LOL but here are some shout-outs to just some people I love here <3
@slowdissolve @ryeceps @beahealthybee @korra-comics @kat3302 @somonebeatmetoit @ryeceps @korrafitness @beastlygreen10 @disasterfitness @otterwater @threehoursfromtroy @korralifts @theroguegallerie @avatarstrong @avatarfan139 @just-another-korra-fit-gal @peerielifter @lostbeifongchild @astrodoesart @healerstrength @gotnoaim
there are so many I can’t name all..but…thank you to everyone in the legend of korra community. :’) i love you all dearly.

New workout–Deku
He is soft! He is strong! He KEEPS HIS IDEALS! I am r e a d y for season 4 and hope you are, too!
Deku is the only shonen protagonist I absolutely loved from the very start. He’s an underdog and he’s dedicated, but he’s at his best when he relies on others for help.
He’s also often a dumbass who gets himself too injured to fight.
So between that and the fact that the risk/reward ratio of bench pressing is too great for me, I decided to make this an upper body, machine-based workout with cardio at the end b/c I pretty much always do that. Why machines? I wanted to get acquainted with some more of them and I feel safer doing some movements on machines rather than with a barbel or dumbbells (also, my overhead press just won’t increase unless I’m able to safely add more weight and the machines will help with that strength).
Yes, Midoriya got ripped without machines, but his growth as a person comes from a strong support system. It’s a metaphor, maybe not the best but it makes sense in my head.
Anyway, the focus is strength so I’m generally targeting lower reps with higher weights. I increased on the last set in most exercises and will probably make that the fun pattern to this workout. Probably by the third or fourth time I do it, I’ll know exactly where I need to be on each exercise.
All that said, here’s the format!
4 sets
5 shoulder press
5 chest press
5 lat pulldown
5 assisted pullups
9 leg press
5 seated leg curl
10 weighted ab crunch
cardio
---
What I did
5 shoulder press x 4, 50lbs. I did 2 reps at 60lbs but failed beyond that.
5 chest press x 3, 50lbs; 5 chest press x 1, 60lbs
5 lat pulldown, 70lbs, 85lbs, 95lbs, and 100lbs
5 assisted pullups x 1, 100lbs; 5 assisted pullups x 3, 85lbs
9 leg press x 3, 90lbs, 9 leg press x 1, 95lbs
5 seated leg curl 60lbs, 70lbs, 75lbs, and 85lbs
10 weighted ab crunch x 4, 80lbs
30 min. elliptical, 7 resistance, 5.05 miles
I’ll probably go higher on the leg press and ab crunch and decrease the reps like I did with everything else to make it fit better in this workout. It’s a nice foil to For the Honor of Grayskull, which has everything in that higher rep range.
I gotta go to bed buuuuttt if y’all try this, I wanna hear about it! Keep your ideals!

Back to Fitness!!
So I’ve been working out periodically even after my PT test, which is good! But I haven’t been super consistent and I’ve slacked on eating well. So I’m back to 147lbs which is shitty BUT I know I can get back to 141lbs again.
I’m trying a “bro split” work out for a few months instead of the usual full body 3 times a week. I’ll let ya know how it goes! Also back to counting calories cause honestly that was the best way I lost weight.

don’t compare yourself to professional athletes. i found myself recently obsessed with “why don’t i look like that” or “why can’t i run that far or lift that much”. and then i realized. i’m just a normal girl who does her best to eat healthy and exercise while also studying, socializing, and participating in a million other things and still get 8 hours of sleep. professional athletes make their livelihoods by fitness. they literally get paid to run, perform, etc.
while you’re sitting in class or studying or at your job, these athletes are exercising and getting professional advice about nutrition, work outs, etc. so no, you shouldn’t feel like you have to look like a professional athlete because you’re not one. you’re you.
