Idk if anyone else has this issue but I seem to have a flavor of autism induced awkwardness that seems to cause a 50/50 split among people where:
half of the population sees me as a threat (I’ve nearly had the cops called on my by neighbors for just standing outside my own home too suspiciously), and then the other half is disarmed by me to the point said people will sometimes approach me in public with a baffling amount of trust to tell or ask me stuff they wouldn’t ordinarily say to anyone else?
I had an old dude very confidently waltz up to me once in the middle of a craft store paint aisle, whispering and asking me what brand/type of gold paint would be good for covering up scratches on a handful of watches he stole so he could re-sell them? I obviously assumed he was fucking with me about the stole part but he said it more than once and had a profoundly weird off putting demeanor that led me to almost believe him
