In Toad Houses in New Super Mario Bros. 2, Toad sometimes produces treasure chests containing items for Mario to pick. Interestingly, the code allows him to produce any number of them between 1 and 360, with the footage showing 10, 30 and 360 chests.
Together with the fact that the chests have a rudimentary collision allowing them to stand on top of each other despite this never happening in regular gameplay, it suggests that this might have been deliberately programmed and the designers could have at some point considered making Toad produce an absurd amount of chests at once as a visual gag.

Can I have everyone’s attention please? Especially Australians
Sign Petition EN7163 - Asylum for Gender and Sexual Minorities from the United States
There is a petition imploring the Australian government to take in LGBTQIA+ refugees from the USA. Given the rapidly worsening political situation over there, I want to at least give this a go. I don’t have any illusions that it will get through to the people that need to see it but I want to try anyway.
The petition closes in 8 days; if you aren’t Australian, please do me a solid and pass this around. Reblog this if you can. Thank you.

“We dropped different numbers of balls at different rates, different heights. We had a ramp. The ramps were at different angles, trying to get the most out of the balls as they hit the actors. After doing the tests, we figured out 35 feet above the deck of the ship was the height we needed our nets. We had these three big nets that held almost 80,000 per net. The balls dropped 35 feet into ramps that projected them towards the stunt guys. It just knocked them over. It was pretty spectacular.”

“It’s amazing to see a bunch of 40 and 50-year-olds turn into three-year-olds all of a sudden. Everybody had to pick up blue balls, hit the other guy in the head. It was like, ’Is it time for the parents to come pick up the kids?’”
-George Marshall Ruge, Stunt Coordinator for Pirates of the Caribbean

Not telling your kid they have a learning disability, chronic illness, mental illness etc. so they can “feel normal” actually does the opposite. They will not feel normal if they do not have the context to understand that their normal will be different from that of their peers.

The title screen of Super Mario All-Stars employs a silhouette graphical effect to show a group of characters with the "lights out" before the lights come on and the group is revealed.
This "lights out" effect has actually been programmed in such a way that it can be applied to the entirety of the game by simply changing a single variable in the code at runtime. Here it is being applied to Super Mario Bros. gameplay, showing the beginning of World 1-1.
