What is the ALNST cast’s deal with wanting to live inside people

Sua - “heart, that’s where I wanna fit”

Ivan - “I wish to live in you like a parasite”

Till - “to be inside your heart”

I have to be honest with you all...

I have no clue if this song is about Mizi or Ivan .

But my running theory is that this is about Mizi on a surface level, and it's about Ivan on a depthful level.

And with the addition of the "Don't you hate me," line it seems likely that it's probably about Ivan.

You could argue that it could be Till overthinking stuff with Mizi and believing she should hate him for liking her while she likes someone else. But Mizi isn't the kind of person who he knows would do that.

Meanwhile, Ivan came back to a prison just because Till didn't run away with him, so Till can logically and emotionally think that this man would have every right to hate him.

Now I'm just gonna analyse, using this translation by @/whatafruit

I can't say a word,

I turn back around every day,

This could obviously mean how Till gets really shy around Mizi and stutters around her most of the time.

But he also more obviously does this with Ivan. He does not say a word when he notices ivan and often just turns away. The first clear instance of this being the most impactful.

Now the lyrics;

I'll probably get it across to you for sure

Close the distance between us

To be inside your heart...

Initially appear to be about Mizi. He's distant with her, he wants to be closer to her, and have a place in her heart.

But then we get to this;

I get scared again like an idiot

Widen the distance between us

Mi Vida Loca...

And its goes back to likely being about Ivan. He sees uneasy whenever Ivan shows affection, and gets scared from it. He actively widens the distance between them.

The lyrics give a peek into the general mindset of Till as well.

(Ooh!)

They say this is a beautiful song,

and they open their arms wide for me

But more than the countless spotlights I want you

My light is born from you

He says that he is able to create such good music because of the light born from his love for whoever the song is about (at this point, it probably both Mizi and Ivan to some extent (bisexual disaster)). He doesn't want the fame or the fans that come with writing his songs, he just wants the person he loves.

(Oh) Your smile that doesn't love me

(Even so) I'll also smile at me who doesn't love myself

This is the part which stumps me the most.

The second part is easy enough to understand. He will smile at himself, even though he does not love himself.

But the first lyric is easy to connect to Mizi due to her recent comics. She smiles all the time, but there were moments where she didn't truly mean it.

It's harder to connect it to Ivan, who smiles the most around Till. He fakes his emotions alot, so Till could have interpreted that as a smile that does not love him. It's also possible that the smiles Ivan gives Till have a sense of longing that is inherently tragic. Which, again, could have been misinterpreted by Till.

But yeah, this whole song is very clearly a love song, and I have no clue about who it is truly about.

I'm gonna be annoying and hype and non critical of the next life series when it comes out I don't care about your hot takes or 'wahhh it's not vanilla anymore' or 'last life was better' I care about shenanigans and 1 million gimmicks and custom mods and Watcher Lore References and scarian divorce and I hope it gets more complicated and sillier and weirder forever and you all die mad about it. I hope Grian and all his friends get hyped as fuck and never feel bad about having fun. The way Grian has urged people to not get too hyped and reiterated multiple times that he's leaning more into what he and the others find fun rather than what will be the best hit with the audience (which is a constantly shifting collection of people who are always gonna be unhappy with something) just makes me kinda bummed. Bummed that he had to say it so many times and do preemptive damage control for a series that isn't even out yet. I hope he has fun and I can feel his passion for it like I did with wild life. I hope I skip reading every negative post so they don't wreck my viewing experience like the last time. I hope the fan service is insane.

Ok, if Ivan has self worth issues due to perciving himself as an unlovable being, and Till has self worth issues bc of his abandonment issues/anxious attachment style...who's driving the bus

(fr, what a combo. One gives mixed signals bc any attention is good for him in the "I get what I can get" type of mentality where he settles for anything bc he belives he's unlovable, so, why expect something more? The other has been taken away from his loving provider and taken by an abusive guardian, which was a trauma for him. And now he'a within himself he's so insecure about himself that reprimands himself for mistakes he makes and wants a reassurance/certainty (that Ivan wouldn't give bc he's certain that Till doesn't care about him so "what's the point?") but won't say it out loud if not in songs bc he get's scares and runs away. Like, if MiziSua feed into eachother's delusions, IvanTill have issues that trigger the other's issues taking out the "escapist bubble" of MiziSua)

All evidence Till survives (1/4)

I'm way late to making this post, but I've never believed that Till died. Here's why:

Foreshadowing

1. Being Shot

Many fans have heard of the "red tape theory." But did you know Till being shot has been foreshadowed at least two other times, potentially non-fatally? The first time was back in early May 2024 in this art for ALNST Friday:

@crustyfloor noticed the bubble gun pointed directly at Till's head and the impact motion lines of a gunshot on the other side. They speculated that since it's not an actual weapon but a bubble gun, Till would be shot in the future but the wound would be non-fatal.

Then, for those who don't know, the "red tape theory" refers to this album cover art from late September last year:

The idea is the tape is meant to symbolize a bandage or perhaps a scar: a treatable wound. The splatter indicates where he will be shot (the same as above).

Next, @rotingdoll noticed in the teaser trailer for Round 7, a crosshair made of light appears, and a moment later that creates a flash of light over Till:

Similar to the bubble gun, it could be argued a crosshair of light is also meant to symbolize non-fatality, since light is usually harmless, just like bubbles. The light passes through him from top to bottom, covering him only fleetingly.

@kitsquared noted the same symbolism happening here as well:

This time, the light isn't even covering him but is behind him. The burst of light is in the same location as the impact motion lines and the red tape: over his branding.

Blood spray from a bullet comes from the exit wound, not the entry, according to @verdantlights. In other words, Till was not shot from the right but from the left, the exact same location as was foretold.

2. Round 5 & Round 7 Parallels:

@cepheusgalaxy pointed out Ruler of My Heart and Blink Gone are the only rounds Luka is a contestant in. As such, Mizi and Till fall prey to the same psychological manipulation that exploits their trauma and grief. In parallel, both Sua and Ivan purposefully lost so that Mizi and Till would win - and therefore live.

@noven-warsh outlined Luka's strategy:

1. taunting them with intimacy

2. reminding them of their dead loved ones

3. and then maintaining his composure as they lose theirs'.

@mikhardwheat noted Mizi and Till are equally overwhelmed, they've had no time to process the deaths' of Sua and Ivan, and are surrounded by reminders of their grief. @cepheusgalaxy pointed out Mizi and Till are both extremely emotional.

They both struggle to focus and engage in the competition.

They look to the crowd and are demoralized by the overwhelming support from Luka's loyal fanbase.

Meanwhile, Till is witnessing Mizi's round, and Mizi is witnessing Till's round.

Even more significantly, as again identified by @cepheusgalaxy, Hyuna has returned to the stage. Ruler of My Heart is the only round no one died.

Not only is Round 7 a replay of Round 5, it's also cyclical. Mizi has returned to the competition. The rebellion is back on the stage again. We've come full circle.

Till, my guy, I'm sensing a pattern, how's the abandonament issue treating you

Here’s how I personally interpret the recent song — as someone who ships both Ivantill and TillxMizi, but sees them as one-sided only (just my own thoughts and theories).

I’ve noticed a lot of people dismissing or invalidating Till’s feelings for Mizi in favor of Ivantill, especially after this song dropped. I don’t think that’s fair to the complexity of his character — the song (imo) carries emotional weight that ties into his dynamic with Mizi - because he is more than round six.

Let me break down why:

“Your smile that doesn’t love me” — This line alone speaks volumes. To me, it suggests that the person he’s singing about doesn’t reciprocate his feelings — and he knows it. This is consistent with recent comic scenes where Mizi explicitly tells Till she doesn’t love him, but loves Sua, especially when he asks her why he’s drawn to her. Yet, despite that rejection, he follows with:

“(Even so) I’ll also smile at me who doesn’t love myself.”

This line shows acceptance. Even in unrequited love, he finds some kind of peace or comfort just by being near her, despite knowing she doesn’t return those feelings.

“I feel so pathetic, Whenever I stand in front of you, I can’t say a word, I turn back around every day” — These lyrics clearly reflect how much he struggles emotionally around the person he loves. We’ve seen him act this way only around Mizi — blushing, stumbling over his words, visibly nervous. He doesn’t behave like this around Ivan, and that contrast is significant.

“(No) My stimulating love explodes, (So) Open up your ears, please understand me.”

He wants his feelings to be acknowledged — even if he’s not expecting love in return, he wants understanding. He’s emotionally overwhelmed, and he just wants the person he loves to know that, because he end up putting the distance between them just to handle his own feelings (probably because he is aware of it being one sided) (he sing about putting the distance).

Now, regarding the xylophone — I’ve seen people use this as an Ivantill argument, but we canonically know that it was gifted anonymously. Till has no idea it was from Ivan, so emotionally, he wouldn’t associate the instrument with him. What we do see is Till playing the xylophone next to Mizi in one scene, which we could assume after the recent round - that while he sees her for his last eight second, he hears the sound that’s comforting cuz he brings him back to the days where he would just sit with Mizi and play while she’s singing.

Again, these are just my personal theories based on the recent comics and the song. I’m always open to discussion and different interpretations — I love hearing how others experience the story! But I just hope we can acknowledge Till’s feelings for Mizi as valid, even if we ship something else and stop spreading misinformation.

those ads for ai integration on phones are so funny bc it seems like they cant. come up with that many use cases that arent already on a phone? "ask gemini to give you recipes when youre cooking!" "use our AI assistant to find the perfect gift for your girlfriend" yeah or i could just like. google it. you've spent millions on a slightly fancier version of an alexa. good job man.

the concept (in reference to your Mizi & Ivan post) is kinda interesting bc so much of that groups dynamic hinges on Mizi acting the way she does (and for the most part she is who she seems like!) and Sua being her confidante (but also someone who contradictingly pushes her into that role) and Till being a friend she admires for his efforts but she doesn’t choose to play with him often (my theory is she found out about his feelings towards the end of their time in the garden, so at first it was bc she thought he hated her and later on bc she was afraid of him thinking she was “leading him on”), and Ivan… that is the big mystery isn’t it? We haven’t got much besides maybe 3 arts where they’re directly interacting, and no serious reflection from either besides in the art book and it’s Mizi thinking Ivan’s so helpful and nice and Ivan thinking that Mizi is pure but that as he’s gotten older she seems “too bright” in their hopeless world, Ivan keeps Mizi at a distance (emotionally) because he assumes her brightness is all there is to her BUT he’s aware that it’s somewhat cultivated by Sua (who doesn’t tell her the truth about alien stage) so it would be interesting if Mizi tried to open up to Ivan and Ivan had to decide whether to try and encourage her naivety or would he go against Sua’s wishes and tell her the truth of their world, I’m wondering what your thoughts about it are?

HELLO OMFG THIS WAS LEFT FOR SO LONG??????? i'm sorry 😭😭 okayy so, i have a lot to say on this matter!!

okayy, honestly your whole thought process is actually pretty much nailed on the coffin—except, Mizi does know about the truth of Alien Stage, (it was in the recent comic release, tho you probably do know that by now, didn't when you sent this ask), She knows people die. honestly, in my opinion, it was her desperation to get away and experience atleast a semblance of what it means to live is what drove her to behave the way she did.

Though if it comes down to how they behaved with eachother, i'd say it was Mizi who felt at ease when she was with him. ofcourse that doesn't mean she'd let her guard down completely, because regardless of how uncaring he was about her conventional beauty and the concept of hetero relationships in general, he was still a guy. But, it was also because he was a guy and this was (probably) the first and only male human around her age who took her as a person instead of a potential "mate", and so, even though she kept her distance (kept a facade), she was happy or maybe even somewhat excited that she can act all foolishly and lean on him without any consequences of the "mating" norms that were fit into the brains of the kids at Anakt.

NOW!! as we speak of the said facade she had. i have a hunch that her innocent plays and foolish behavior with Ivan specifically weren't all a pretend. i believe she was actually happy to experience a genuine friendship with a guy her age. And as it may seem, she used the opportunity Ivan's nature had introduced her to, and acted like a child that she was, the child she couldn't be, the childhood she was forced out of. she behaved mischievous without a second thought and had real, genuine fun because it was rare—no, more like it was impossible to imagine, atleast for Mizi. For the experiences she had and the things she was aware of, it was nothing short of a miracle for a guy like Ivan appear in her life.

Also, i'd say that Mizi knew that Ivan had an idea of her pretending, and that made her trust him even more bc any other guy would've taken advantage of that (glares at that particular blonde ass), but Ivan on the other hand just, indulged her. Coming from a childhood of being used and controlled, of having to behave a certain way to please those around her, of being scared of disappointing others, of thinking a thousand times before speaking or doing anything at all because they were capable of hurting her if she even as much as breathed the wrong way—Ivan, alongside Sua was a breath of fresh air. The difference was that Sua allowed her to take control overall but also, she was a girl. Ivan remained nonchalant (and kinda amused) to her little control when they hung out, BUT he was a guy. And that created a whole lot of difference.

as for Ivan, as you said, I'm pretty sure he had a good idea about Mizi and her facade of innocence she always carried around. And honestly I don't think he really thought much of her. it takes just a pair of eyes with 2 braincells minimum to figure out that Mizi was, infact, pretty. but the thing to take into consideration is that he had experienced things similar to her, too. I don't think he ever judged her for creating a faux personality, because honestly, he has no ground to stand on himself. I'd say Ivan knew why Mizi acted the way she did, too. Why she used to cling to him and not on other guys, why she behaved more childish when he was the company as compared to the other boys. i believe he actually took pity on her (aside from empathy of sharing similar experience and similarities in general) he indulged into her antics. And probably saw her as someone—though ruined by the aliens—who was genuinely capable of healing.
