Like my problem with wkbz it's that having watched the movie when i was a child/teen (and being really hit by it) i cant avoid making comparisons. In my perspective the series doesnt have the same strenght and despite having more time to dwell with characters it feels superficial and too busy making scenes that look like a magazine photoshoot... but i feel that my thoughts are tainted by the previous knowledge... Did you watch the movie or read the book before watching the series?

no! id never even heard of christiane f before stumbling across the series, so thats why i cant really comment on the whole book v movie v series debate. tbh i watched the series bc benno is played by an actor i like! when i said i was waiting for the series to blow up, it was mainly because i was thinking of the character dynamics and pretty cinematography/symbolism....rather than the weight of the storyline itself

man im just waiting for wkbz to blow tf up,,,,its an astounding show if you go into it without any contextual knowledge of the book/previous movie or any expectations. an amazing (although heart-breaking) watch with characters you really end up rooting for despite their massive flaws. so much more could’ve been done, but the sheer amount of symbolism is enough to keep me satisfied for now lmfao.
