summer is coming up lads..

#I've been in both #genuinely dry heat feels less hot then humid heat #there's no escape #you move at all and suddenly it's so much worse i hate having to walk anywhere in it #dry heat? sure ok it sucks to be outside in it #it's hot it feels like an oven #sure #but you can get away pretty much fine with a handheld fan #it's not so horrible I'd dread to go outside. I can wear loose pants in dry heat. i cannot othetwise because I'll overheat #I'm someone who overheats easy abd i can still wear layers in dry heat

shows should have 22 episodes a season again where half of them are low stakes silly fun shit happening. this i believe with my whole heart

#“oh this show that has 15 episodes in a season has too many filler even though half or more are action”#“wow why are all these shows nowadays so fast paced like i can't care about characters”#that!! is the point!! of filler!!#“filler” episodes are to show how thecast interacts without plot and threats happening #filler is for them to be happy #or to put them in different situations that aren't necessarily entirely plot related #exvept maybe a few details that build up and you get to go oh!! that!!#you need it so it doesn't feel rushed or too dramatic and so people can actually get attached to these characters #it helps woth the plot! adds stakesif we can see how much these relationships nean!#“oh the bad batch has too much filler with them just going on missions”#the missions that are still plot relevent #that we know they need to do for money or info you're calling that too much filler #“x of the week” shows turning into plot related and epic things is such a common amd good trope do you hate fun #have you no whimsy?#same people will love older shows that have so many seasons #the 25 episodes and so much filler and yet get mad at this #filler is fun! and also! important plot device!#8-10 episode seasons routinely get “rushed” complaints because they have nk room for filler! that's why even when goid they're never great!

Since the r-slur is making a comeback (you know, the word that starts with R, has six letters, and ends in D), I'm gonna make a little PSA:

Yes, it's an ableist slur.

Terms like "asshat," "head-up-ass," "up their own ass," and "high on their own farts" exist. There's also words like crap, dogshit, half-assed, assclown, and chucklefuck. And on the less vulgar side, there are terms like ridiculous, nonsense, train wreck, pointless, insipid, self-absorbed, pretentious, annoying, boring, contemptible, vile, and disgusting.

Substituting words like restarted, poptarted, brain damaged, smoothbrain, etc. is still ableist, because either 1. you obviously still mean the r-word, or 2. you're still using disability as an insult.

every time someone talks about someone "faking disability to live on welfare" or anything to that effect i think about how my mom worked in law and directly knew of a case of a guy who had terminal brain cancer with an estimated few months to live and got rejected the first time he applied for disability income. like, he was 100% going to die and that wasn't disabled enough to not have to jump through a million hoops and get lawyers involved. non-disabled people "living off of welfare" is such a non issue because i cannot bring myself to care about the like, 3 people who maybe successfully do it compared to the thousands of people rejected who need aid
