Is buying a flat with a loan is a good idea?

Last week I went for a site visit to a 3 BHK flats for sale in Anna nagar, Chennai the flat was very pretty penthouse type with a lakefront view & above all near to my office too. But if I go with this house I need to take a loan which has approx of 60,000 Rs of EMI and with interest the total amount which I am paying to the bank is actually double the amount of the flat today. There is also one thing that within these years the rate of the property will increase too, so I am a bit confuse whether to go for this wonderful apartment which I loved and give EMI for almost 20 years or I should save the money living in rent to buy something after some years.....
