Title tag
What is the title tag?
The title tag is HTML code, an element used to define the title of a website. The title tag does not appear in the content of your web page. It appears at the top of the browser tabs and in the search results.
Does the title affect SEO?
The title tag is hugely important for SEO . It helps search engines and anyone looking to understand what your page is about.
The title tag also has a big impact on whether you get visitors or not. The title is the first impression a searcher gets from your web page. In other words, a good title can determine whether the searcher clicks into your page or not.
Should the title be prioritized?
Yes, the title is one of those, small, individual measures you should review early in your seo work. You should review all the titles on your most important pages and ensure that they are of high quality.
What should I be aware of?
As with everything else related to SEO, you need to try it out. But, some good rules of thumb are:
Keep your title between 30-40 characters long.
Studies show that titles that are between 15-40 characters long have the best CTR (Click-through-Rate) . We would recommend you bet between 30-40 characters. You want to get as much information as possible. But be careful about writing for long titles. If the title is too long, it risks being cut in the search result which is not very nice.
Place your primary (most important) keyword as early as possible.
When writing your title, try to start with your primary keyword. On the internet, information is foaming so it is important that your message is clearly understood. We read from left to right (in the western world) which means that the earlier you have the keyword, the more chance it is that the searcher actually sees it.
By placing the keyword early, you are also telling Google what your page is primarily about.
Write a unique title for each page
Customize the title for each page. This helps search engines to understand that content is unique and valuable.
Write for the reader - not the search engine
The purpose of the title is that it should lead to a click. Write informatively and make sure your message is valuable. It should be accurate (match the content on the landing page) and positive.
But avoid Click Baits, you'll lose it in the long run.
Meta Description
What is Meta description?
Meta Description is a brief summary of a web page. It often appears in search results, just after the title tag. The meta description can have a high impact on how many people actually click into your page.
Does it affect SEO?
Since 2009, meta description is no longer part of Google's algorithm. So it no longer has a direct impact on how well a page ranks. But the description can have an impact on whether you get a click (visit) or not. So it can have an indirect impact on your SEO.
Should Meta description be prioritized?
Given that the description can contribute to more visitors, it may be worth putting some energy into writing good meta descriptions. By turning on your description, you have the opportunity to increase your CTR (Click-Through-Rate) and in this way get more visitors to your site.
What should I be aware of?
Match the content
Avoid Click baits or the like that spur false hopes. This will only lead to high bounce rates and Google will lower your ranking.
See the description as a selling summary of your site.
Between 120 - 145 characters long.

Nine times out of ten, it is best to write your own, unique description. But sometimes it might be better not to write one, but instead let Google choose which description to display.
This is great if you have a larger page that targets multiple, strong keywords or long-tail keywords.
Does the headline affect SEO?
No, the title tags are no longer a ranking factor. Previously, the main heading was a ranking factor, but it is no longer true. According to Google itself, H1 and other headlines no longer play a major role from a seo perspective. They are useful but not critical to SEO. Their crawlers should now be so good at understanding a page's content that headlines are not as important.
Should headlines be prioritized?
It depends on.
From a seo perspective, this is no longer necessary. But not necessary is not the same thing as bad. Headings still play a function and are valuable. Clear headlines improve readability, make it easier for the reader to skim the content and quickly find the information that is of interest.
We would say that if you have an existing website today, with many pages, you do not need to prioritize the headings. You probably have other aspects to address that are significantly more important. The exception is if you have several, long articles that completely lack headlines.
These articles are probably difficult to read and for that reason you should review the text, divide it into paragraphs with appropriate subheadings. But you don't have to spend energy switching from h4 to h3 on existing texts.
However, if you build a new website or write a new article. Do right from the start. Our thesis is that a structured heading hierarchy can help the search engines. Just because they understand a text "anyway" so a little help on the stack can probably help.
What should I be aware of?
Only one H1.
Yes, this still applies. For the simple reason that it is completely illogical to have more than one main heading.
Think hierarchically
H2 relates to H1. H3 to the latest H2an etc. The headings help the reader (and the search engines) understand how a text is structured, what sections are about what, and help the reader quickly find exactly what they are looking for.
Write descriptive headings
Think of the reader. Use headings that describe and summarize the paragraph. Make it easy for your readers to understand your content and find your articles.
Alt tag
What is an alt tag?
The alt tag, or the alt text, is an html attribute used to describe an image for, among other things, crawlers. The text is displayed when an image, for various reasons, cannot be uploaded to the screen.
Visually impaired people who use screen readers get the Alt text read separately to describe the image.
Does alt-tagging affect SEO?
The Alt tag is an attribute that can affect whether or not images appear in the search result. Since Google's crawlers can't "see" images (yet), they used the alt attribute to understand what the image shows. In other words, the alt-tag has some influence on seo.
There is also a value linked to ease of use. A website with manually written alt tags can be considered more user-friendly than websites that do not have alt tags.
Should the alt-tag be prioritized?
Again, it depends. If you have not written alt tags before, we recommend that you start with this. But, if today you have hundreds of pictures on your site that have no alt-tag, don't worry.
The alt tag is a detail that should definitely be overlooked but in itself it is not the most important ranking factor. Probably there are other measures that are more important to prioritize.
What should I be aware of?
Keep it short.
Try to keep the Alt tag between 3-5 words. More than that, it is rarely necessary.

What is body text?
Body text is content. The running text that is on your web page is counted as body text.
Does the body text affect SEO?

For Google, this is the text that applies. It is through reading the text on the website that the search engines understand what your website is about.
Should text be prioritized?
Yes, the content is important and it becomes more and more important. The biggest changes Google has made with its search algorithm in recent years have all been linked to content.
It is also logical if you think about the user, those who visit the website. If it is filled with good content, information that is valuable and relevant to the reader, it is a good website. The type of page that Google wants to show up in search results.
What should I be aware of?
Think of the reader, not Google
As you write, try not to think too much about Google but think of the reader. If you write a well-written text, with clear paragraphs, subheadings and supplementary images, Google will award you.
