"Minsan May Isang P*ta"

When 21st century literature began many different stories and authors began to arise. These authors and stories have different topics, meanings, basis, and many more as to why they write these stories. These authors base there stories or works depending on what era they are in. One author in particular made a story that caught many eyes and ears.

Now the author known as Mike Portes created a short story known as Minsan May Isang P*ta that explains a certain place or being that went through many adversaries just to make her children appreciate her. The author in his era as he said in the story lived in a place where waste the resources given to them by a place that went through hell and back and they aimlessly waste it just for their own gain. The story Minsan May Isang P*ta plot is symbolic due to it symbolising a mother that cares less about herself and that mother is the main character known as Pilipinas.

The authors relation with the main character is he is one of her sons or children. His center of attention is only on Pilipinas explaining what she's enduring just to provide for her children. The plto of the story begins when Pilipinas began telling her story to the readers that she was an extraordinary beautiful and majestic being that foreigners flock to even allowing three of them in her life and presence just to realise what their true intentions was when she comes to realise after years that they need to go to thus enlisting the help of her children successfully driving them out vut she soon realises even her own children stated fighting over the resources she made by being used over and over again.

The action in the story is external and internal. The problems shown in the short story presents how and what the mother or country is suffering. Now the problems and who are the one affected by it is Pilipinas herself having trouble with her past and with her children constantly fighting each other. The conflicts in the story are man vs society, man vs conscious, and man vs system. The atmosphere in the story is the determinant or conditional to the inhabitants or people.

The author also presented the characters differently. Firstly, Pilipinas was shown as a being who suffered a lot just to for her to see her children fighting, while her children were shown as ignorant and very cruel and cold towards their mother. The main character is Pilipinas as a kind, loving, strong, and caring mother. The secondary characters were her children and the three foreigners. This story takes us to Pilipinas is past life and present life. The author while writing this story wishes for us to open our minds on how we are treating our country and shows us its terrible past.

In conclusion, the story Minsan May Isang P*ta that's author is Mike Portes explained and showed us what Pilipinas has gone through originally being a beautiful being to someone who was abused by three foreigners and goes back to them for help and how her children are ignorant and cold towards her. The short story was very great in symbolising and opening their minds ok how people are becoming ignorant towards their country.

"Miss Universe 2023"

Miss Universe a pageant that we all have come to know and love. Where different participating nations or countries show off their culture and spread it to the masses. A pageant where participating individuals show off their beauty, intelligence, and elegance. Let's talk about the recent Miss Universe in 2023.

But first and foremost what is Miss Universe? Well Miss U or Miss Universe is a popular pageant that many countries have participated over the years. Also Miss Universe started at 1952 and it still continues on until today. Miss U a pageant that's purpose is to entertain the world wide audience and to showcase the different culture and the strength, intelligence and beauty of the candidates from the participating countries and nations. The theme of this pageant is feminism that sought to expand it even more.

Now let's dive into the recent pageant... the miss Universe of 2023 is Miss Nicaryaga. She won and wore the first crown for her country. But many of the audience were not agreeing with the outcome of the pageant due to there was sort of technical and controversy while the pageant was going on. Because of this Miss PH or Philippines didn't even enter the top 5 even though she had an outstanding gown and the awards she received. She still only ended up on the top 10 finalist but many of the audience still accepted the newly crowned Miss Universe 2023 because she still deserved it due to her hard work on it.

In conclusion, We have now acknowledged that miss Universe is not just a competition or pageant that is taken lightly its a place and time where individuals from different sections of the world come together to show off their country or nations culture, traditions, and beauty and for the people from across the world to admire it and bring home and crown for their home country or nation.

"Equality" a poem that was written by Maya Angelou that tells us a very common yet unnoticed happenings in our surroundings on black women. The verses of the poem all show and make the readers acknowledge and see that some if not all of us see black women as lower beings and treat and judge them poorly. Maya Angelou was trying to call out this problem that has been raging on for a long time now and we have done little to fix and make this right.

Now the purpose of the poem was to reveal how black women like Maya herself is seen and treated. Black women based on the poem and the verses in it says that black women are used and seen as just for pleasure and their ways are better than wanton this is seen in the verse "You announce my ways are wanton, that I fly from man to man". It is also said that they are mere shadows to us that means that they are always falling behind and getting left out.

This poem has the theme feminism. The several issues have been presented by the author Maya Angelou one of those issues is inequality towards black women. Black women are shown in this poem as mere slaves and tools for pleasure even stating that they are mere shadows to us that always feels different. Also she have highlighted certain historical references in the lines of "We have lived a painful history, we know the shameful past" basically saying that back then in the past white people treated black people very poorly treating them as slaves and livestock that can easily be replaced if they want to.

But was the author successful in showing and persuading her readers and the people? Well I can't say that because now a days racism and inequality especially towards black women and even men still happen in todays time and little is being done in solving the problem or issue.

In conclusion the poem "Equality" by Maya Angelou was written and made to open the masses eyes on the way black women like herself are being treated and seen as. And after reading it I find myself asking what have I done when presented with these situations? Who do I even side with? Or do I merely stay quiet or even be the ones causing such inequality? This poem has made me realise it from the context, the structure, and the verses.

Israel and Palestine Conflict

"War" a word that many of us have come know and fear. Uttering these words carelessly could cause distress and panic. War or warfare has always been a part of our worlds history that has severely affected our lives and especially the people who were affected and involved. Nowadays wars have eventually occurred once again that includes the Ukraine and Russia War and two countries who have a long line of conflict the states are Israel and Palestine

Their History

Believe it or not the war started when the state of Israel declared its independence on May 14 1948.It all formally begun when in the end of the British mandate for Palestine at midnight on May 1948, Israelies Declaration of Independence had been issued earlier that day and one of a military coalition of a Arab states enters the territory of the British palestine in the morning of May 15th.

Geography of Israel and Palestine

The country of Israel is located in the Eastern Mediterranean section of the middle east, bordering Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. All of the nations have had military battles against israel since its declared its independence in 1948. Now due to Israel geography and relatively small size have been some of conflict between itself and surrounding nations. Meanwhile Palestine area of the Eastern Mediteranean region, including the parts of modern Israel and the Palestinian territories of the gaza street (along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea) and the west Bank (West of the Jordan River). Both of the geography area designated by its name and political status have changed it over the course of some three millennial. Its region (or atleast part of it) as also known as the holy land and it is held sacred among Jews, Christians, and Muslims. It has been the main topic of claims of the Jewish and the Arab national movements and the conflict it brewed has led to the prolonged violence and in several instances of open warfare.

Who are the HAMAS? And what role do they play in this War or conflict?

The HAMAS or is which an acronym for Harakat al-Muqawana al Islamiya (Islamic Resistance Movement) is the largest and most capable militant group in the Palestine territories and one of the territories two major political parties. At the beginning of the first Palestine inftifuda (uprising) in the late 1987 the HAMAS was formed. It originated in the Palestine Branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, and it is supported by robust sociopolitical structure inside Palestine territories. This group of individuals is known for its establishing of an Islamic Palestine State in place of Israel and they reject all agreements made between the PLO and Israel. PLO stands for Palestine Liberation Organisation it is an organisation that is formed to protect and to represent the Palestinians that seeks to establish an independent Palestine State. Most of if not all of HAMAS strength is allocated and concentrated on the gaza street and areas of the Western Bank. HAMAS military wing also known as the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades that has initiated many anti-israel attacks in both Israel and the Palestinian territories in the 1990s. The attacks that have been included are large scale bombings against Israelie civilian targets, improvised Road explosives, small arms attack and rocket attacks. HAMAS still continues to to not cease or renounce the violent resistance against Israel and Israelies. In the early 2008 HAMAS has conducted suicide bombing, that took the life of one civilian. And as well as multiple rocket and mortar attacks that had caused injuries to civilians. However in June 2008 HAMAS entered a six month agreement with Israel massively reducing rocket attacks. Following the temporary calm, HAMAS once again begun their rocket attacks, which affected a major Israeli military operation in late December of 2008. After decimating much of HAMAS infrastructure in Gaza street, Israel has declared a unilateral cease fire on January 18 2009. In July 2014, the once uneasy calm between HAMAS and Israel broke down completely when three Israeli teenagers were kidnapped and killed in the West Bank in June and when a Palestine was killed by Israeli settlers in retaliation. In retaliation towards this HAMAS militant wing and other Palestine militants in the Gaza strip had escalated into the longest and most lethal conflict with Israel since 2009.

The current state of the war

On October 2023 war broke out between Israel and Hamas. Hamas fighters unleashed rockets and attacked southern Israeli cities and towns across the border of the Gaza Strip, hundreds of soldiers and civilians have been takened as hostages, some have even been injured and killed in the process. This attack took the state of Israel by surprise but they quickly initiated a deadly retaliatory operation. A day after the attack on October 7, the Israeli cabinet finally declared war against Hamas, followed by a directive from the defense minister to the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) that they carry out a "complete siege" of Gaza. Ever since then these two sides have constantly traded rocket fire on a daily bases, because of this Israel ordered more than one million Palestinian civilians to evacuate ahead of time because of a possible ground assault. Meanwhile Gaza is now running out of water, supplies, and fuel amidst an Israeli aid blockade, and the conflict has risks of spreading as cross borders strikes escalates in Lebanon and Syria.
