Motor Controller: How does it really work?

The basics of motor controller

There are two flavors of electric power: AC and DC. While the DC normally flows in the same direction, AC will always go from the negative to the positive many times in a second. The AC motors are powered by an AC current. When the current switches direction very fast, the motor spins faster. With an AC controller, the currency frequency changes to be able to control the motor speed.

Making DC

The AC power is what is normally applied on motor controllers. The power which comes into the controller is at a frequency that is set. When the AC is in its positive half phase, the opposite tends to happen and the AC flows to the positive wire.
