safiya’s ecstatic to be back to the hotel. she had done so much over the holidays, from officially selling her house in the suburbs, visiting her mom and step-dad, and helping her grandfather move out of his house, she’s finally ready for the revamp that a new year holds. she’d resolved to work less, live a little more, make new friends and generally find herself again. she’d lost a lot of her younger self when she started her own business. now, she’s ready to get back on the horse again. strutting into the malnati, she gives a bright smile to the familiar face she sees in the lobby. “hi!! oh my gosh how are you? it feels like it’s been forever!”

Hey Beckett! I hope your holiday is wonderful! I was your secret Santa this year, and I kind of went by what you told me! I figured that if you had a guitar and needed a loop petal, that a guitar strap with the marvel hero’s logos on it would be pretty fitting! Along with a loop petal I found is a bottle of Aviation Gin. I’ve heard good reviews but haven’t tried it myself so let me know how it is!

Safiya did not enjoy math class. She had bad teachers in high school and had to do work with her classmates in study hall so that she could learn the concepts and never really had any time in study hall for anything else.

Beau is fumbling through the front doors of the Malnati, legs clad in dirt covered jeans and a white t-shirt with stains to match. He’s not… hungover, but two more drinks and he probably would’ve been. When he comes across the brunette in the chair, half asleep, Beau can hardly hold back a laugh. He shakes his head, “Yeah, you definitely were. Right in front of that giant party that just checked in, too.” Beau propped his hand on his hip, “Last night tired you out too, huh? I know there’s rumored ghosts around the hotel but I’m pretty sure i’m one of them at this point by how my feet are dragging and I’m groaning with every step.” Beau sits down on a table- he’d not even dare sit on a cloth covered chair, “You doin’ alright?” 

She nearly groans as Beau confirms the worst. “Well damn, that’s not at all embarrassing.” Saf sighs before looking to the front desk where he noted the party that had come in. “Would’a been worse if I actually worked at the hotel, can you imagine?” She laughs and stands up, pushing potential wrinkles from her skirt. “Of course it did the whole thing was wild from start to finish.” She laughs and slowly stretches. “Yeah, I’m good. I took some advil before I crashed thinking it might help, and I hope it did I’m not sure if it did or just being busy helped.”

“yeah, kinda.” ana slipped on her ice coffee, flipping through her newest copy of Cosmo. “but its fine–you looked peaceful and i’m not that evil. plus everyone needs their beauty sleep!” she trilled, eyes never leaving the glossy pages in her lap. “also–did you know that orange is making a comeback? i just–I don’t understand. not a single person looks good in orange, not one.” finally satisfied with her perusal, she slips the magazine back in her bag and looks at the woman. “so, what’s got you so exhausted that you’re falling asleep in lobbies? something tells me this doesn’t beat a tempurpedic.” 

safiya looks to the woman, stopping herself from rubbing at her eyes, clearly tired but not willing to ruin her makeup for the sake of brief comfort. “well, if i’d made it to my room i could’ve taken a much more peaceful nap. not to mention a rather... private one.” she notes before straightening herself out. “just last week really and then having a bunch of stuff going on with work and fashion labels coming out with new dresses i’ve been trying to make shows in between meetings so i’m just up early and running around constantly.” she shrugs before completely standing up. she points to the coffee. “where’d you find that?”

“It’s a bit of a mix. It really depends on what I’m being. This year I had a dress made from a friend and really had to go heavy on the body paint and makeup but it was a decent thing. And it wasn’t pre-packaged so, I guess I make my own.”

safiya is beyond exhausted. the week had been getting to her as loads of people rushed to get married before the leaves fell off the trees and the winter came in. but at the same time, there were people who were making changes on their weddings for two months from now, including a couple who wanted to get married christmas day. she wasn’t sure how she was going to avoid that one, but she would see if one of her planners was willing to take it on for her. she wanted to visit her mom and step-dad and that rarely happened as it were. safiya’s not even realized it, but in the midst of her thoughts, she’s dozed off in the chair in the lobby, and is jolted awake by someone in her presence. “god... was i asleep?”
