Sage looked at Cleo. "I can't imagine what you and your friends are feleing right now, but just know you have my support to do whatever you want while we're there. Hell, everyone will more than likely support you."
"I don't know who the fuck runs Gossip Girl, but I'm about to track them down and fight them. The fact that she thinks any one of us wants to go back to North Carolina is fucked up." @ggstarterblog

"Thank you, Brittany." Sage smiled at her. "How are you doing though?"
"Oh God." Brittany's eyes widened at the thought of being awake during any kind of surgery and she shook her head. "Nope, fuck that." She laughed. "I...I give you props, Sage."

"Years or practice and just school and knowing that this probably won't be the last time it happened." Sage laughed and looked at her. "Thank you, Quinn. How are you doing?"
"how the hell did you manage to stay calm?" she asked and shook her head. "i would have broken down and cried. you are a true wonder, sage."

Sage laughed. "It wasn't always like that, when I was in college, we fought about some rando guy I was dating." She admitted and looked at her. "Oh gosh, that is honestly the worst." She shook her head. "Just tell her you're having fun here with men, women, everyone." She laughed. "Yes! Here's to them!"
Hanna smirked, resting her chin on her hand. “That is the most aggressively wholesome argument I’ve ever heard.” She laughed, shaking her head. “Meanwhile, my mom’s trying to convince me that setting me up with her friend’s son is a ‘fun surprise’ and not a total ambush.” She raised her glass in mock salute. “Here’s to moms and their very unique definitions of helpful.”

"You don't have to apologize." Sage promised. "Honestly, someone waking up before their anesthia wears off is more common than people think it is."
"That's just...that's distrubing as fuck." Jordan shook his head. "I'm sorry that happened to you, Sage." He added. "Hopefully that never happens again."

"So, I'm used to doing surgeries on patients who are awake, so it wasn't like it wasn't a common thing, but this patient was supposed to be asleep and as much as I wanted to freak out, I knew I couldn't."
"Oh that is..wow, I really don't know how I'd react to that situation." She admitted and looked at Sage. "Are you okay though? I know you said you had to stay calm, but that has to be a lot of pressure and a mental fuck load."

"Some types of brain surgery, you have to be awake, that way we can get accurate readings, but this was one of the surgeries where they had to be put completely under." She explained. "The one that I was doing was what's called an Asleep Craniotomy."
Brittany shook her head. "Is that normal though? Like I can't imagine them just waking up and staring at you."

"Oh trust me I know." Sage said and looked at Serena. "There have been days when I've had to reschedule an appointment because I was so burnt out, either emotionally, physically, mentally or spiritually and I just knew if I did the surgery, then I wouldn't be the best person to help my patient and that is the last thing I want."
"Yeah but it can also be a bad thing." Serena pointed out. "No one wants a burnt out and tired surgeon opperating on them."

"Honestly, I wish I could get into text wars with my mom, but the only thing we actually argue about what book I need to be reading so I can come off my book buying ban."
Hanna's eyes widened, and she let out a disbelieving laugh. “Okay, that’s officially the wildest thing I’ve heard all month.” She took a sip of her drink, then pointed her glass at Sage. “You’re out here casually saving lives while I’m just trying not to get into another text war with my mom.”

Sage laughed. "So you and Jenny haven't reconcilled and that was you smiling at a different blonde like she held the whole world in her hands?" She teased him.
"That's because it is all lies. Whoever is running the Gossip Girl account has really lost the whole fucking plot of Gossip Girl if you ask me."

"Of course I stayed calm, I'm a pro after all." She said with a smile. "I had to continue with the surgery, it was already almost over anyways, maybe another hour left."
Jordan's face blanched and his eyes widened when he heard what happned to Sage during her surgery. "Holy fuck. I can't imagine...how the fuck did you manage to stay calm? Did you stay calm?"

"They did indeed wake up, yeah." Sage nodded and looked at her. "Not fully, but they were concious and we had to soothe him while I was doing the surgery. It doesn't happen that often, but when it does happen, it's not fun."
"i'm sorry you said they woke up? like came out from under the anestetics and everything?" she asked and shook her head. "fuck that. i would not be okay."

"Yeah they did, it fucking sucked and was scary, but I had to finish the surgery and I did so thank God for that."
"I'm sorry they actually woke up?" Brittany raised a brow and her jaw dropped. "Nope, fuck that, I would cry." She laughed.

"I wanted to cry and throw up, but I had to keep my cool and I'm glad I did because one of the med students almost had a breakdown and one of the nurses had to quietly calm her down. So there was chaos but thankfully the surgery was a success and the patient is recovering."
Roxanne raised a brow. "That is...wow." She said and shook her head. "I can't imagine the fear that either of you went thorugh when that happened." She admitted. She had to give Sage props for her job, it wasn't something most people would do, or could handle.

"No, I wish I was kidding." Sage said and looked at the other blonde with a laugh. "I did, yeah. One of the med students was about to pass out so it was a bit of chaos at one point, but on the plus side, the surgery was a success."
Hanna blinked, half-laughing, half-horrified. “Wait—are you kidding me? That’s straight out of a horror movie!” She leaned in, her voice dropping to a mock whisper. “Please tell me you didn’t just keep talking to him like it was totally normal.” Then, shaking her head, she added with a grin, “Only you would have a story like that and still look this calm drinking champagne.”

Sage swirled the champagne in her glass, a rare smile softening her usually composed features as she leaned back into the plush velvet booth, savoring her day off and the familiar comfort of catching up with an old friend amid the polished elegance of an elite Manhattan restaurant.
“I had a patient wake up mid-craniotomy last week. Eyes wide open, staring right at me like we were having a conversation instead of, you know, me holding part of his brain.” @ggstarterblog
