Out of curiosity does anybody have a (YouTube) content consumption system? Because my friends told me it’s weird… I don’t blame them.

<<My System & Rules>>

1. Find the genre/overarching theme. Then a sub-genre if there is one

[EX] Genre: Music (subgenre: kpop, jpop, etc.)

Watch order:

Art -> Horror -> Art -> Food ❌

Music -> Games -> Video Essays -> Animation -> Art -> Horror -> Music ✅ (a spaced rotation)

2. Watch channels and creators within that genre

Watch order:

Channel A vids -> Channel B vids -> Channel A vids ❌

Channel A vids -> Channel B vids -> Channel C ✅

3. Video number quantity

✨Perfect✨: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 15, 20, 25, etc.

⭐️Good Enough: 9, 12, 14, 16, 18, 21, 22, etc.

❌Bad: 3, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, etc.

If the videos are a part of a series, watch chronologically and to its recent/completion. Nulled if the videos of a series are stand-alone videos.

Keep up to date on in-progress series till completion. If interest is lost for the series, stop at an even number.

If the series is an odd number, it’s permitted and the odd number is nulled. OR add another video from the same channel to make it even, as long as the video still matches the genre or segways into the next genre.

But if the series is long, evenly split up the videos as seen fit [EX: 20 total, split into 10 & 10]. Watch the chunks separately (preferably days difference or a full scroll’s difference in the watch history on phone)

Watch video to completion (ie, red watch bar) and like it. DON’T leave a watched video incomplete or unsynced with the liked playlist

GENERALLY, If I don’t like/disinterested in the video I’m watching, I remove it from my watch history

To rewatch videos, pause watch history or go to alt account

I do follow these rules most of the time. It makes sense to me. But I’m not too strict with it though and do bent them occasionally (though I feel slightly weird abt it in the moment).

I’m not diagnosed with anything at the moment btw :D
