February 8th Bug-Fixing Build + Yandere Simulator Anime Opening Storyboard (Review)
Hey to all of you! I realize that I said back then that I will publish WordPress reviews twice a week, but for the past month, that hasn't happened at all. I wanted to apologize because a lot has happened, particularly since I started babysitting more often and was getting ready for Halloween. Now that I'm back, for real this time, I'm prepared to review! I'll be working on the following two here.
These reviews are for the Feb8 and Feb9 updates. I hope you enjoy reading these! Let's begin.
First one is a bug fixing build, which is always a plus. Still love reading these til this day. And the Kokona Tutorial is still one of my favorite things ever. It still astonishes me how well he fixes all these bugs.
One little detail about his bug fixes/improvements list that I have always loved is where he states that one of the things in question will be altered and improved upon further in the future. I think a lot more people should read these postings before assuming anything and concluding that YandereDev is "incompetent" or that something was overlooked because he doesn't intend to repair anything.
Although it is possible to overlook some things, he has seen so many game bugs that it is rare for him to overlook anything. He's pretty smart!
And of course, onto the beautiful Anime Opening Storyboard.
Given all the complexities, years of frustration, and frequent changes associated with this project, it makes sense that Dev wouldn't be able to give name everyone who contributed. Overall, the video is rather lovely! The visuals in the are gorgeous, and the vivid pinks and reds stand out as particularly striking examples of Yandere Simulator aesthetics.
The lyrics flow well throughout the entire song and perfectly go well with the visuals. The final images of Senpai and Ayano took my breath away and I was almost moved to tears. Everything in this would work flawlessly as a cinematic before the actual game begins.
The dedication that was put into this project—Dev included, of course—is evident in the way it was developing. I'm in love, even though this wasn't quite done. The sheer number of individuals who are so devoted to the game that such a thing was made for it touched me. Bravo to all those that took part!
These posts were great. One for some incredibly fantastic adjustments and enhancements, and another for a stunningly drawn video. They are flawless. I adore this game, and the people who work on it are among the most amazing people I've ever seen. Understanding YS's origins and current state truly captures the essence of its extremely modest beginnings. For what it has accomplished thus far, the nearly ten years of work have been worthwhile!
Thank you for creating Yandere Simulator, Dev. I'm always happy to be here!
Until next time!

I will be turning off anons indefinitely due to the sudden magnitude of hate mail I've been receiving lately. Otherwise, I am unable to block users that I am unable to view.
I strongly advise you to read my post again if you haven't already. I've already viewed all of the "evidence" that has been made public regarding this situation, and I've made my own conclusions in said post. You cannot convince me that Dev is a monster or anything like that, and I will not put up with any hate or negativity that attempts to find its way onto my blog.
There was a recent hack on my Discord account (which has been safely restored), which negatively impacted my mental well-being. All because I like Dev and the game he's made. None of you are as holy and just as you think you are.
When I mentioned that I would block anyone who wanted to trouble me over the matter, I wasn't lying. If you are unable to accept my viewpoint, please turn around and leave instead of invading my inbox. You shouldn't be so preoccupied with a stranger's opinion on these topics anyway, because it's none of your business.

A Yandere Simulator “PMV” + Yandere Simulator Character Trivia Video Review
Doing another one of these! I'm very excited to start writing them again. I anticipate doing this twice a week and categorizing everything into two groups: two shorter articles reviewed simultaneously, and one longer piece.
The bigger ones have more information, so I can focus on every last detail much more easily. I can also look at a lot more in a shorter amount of time. So that will be the method I use moving forward! What could be more enjoyable than reading so many posts at once?
Before I get into the two main articles (Feb5 and Feb6), I wanted to mention the February 3rd Bug-Fixing Build post! I've always liked reading about developers fixing bugs and making enhancements. And it makes me so happy looking through the list of all the things that have been promised so far and seeing them all in the final product. Cheers to Dev!
Of course, it's time for the actual review.
I begin.
Dev's PMV editing is far superior to the choppy work I did when I was 12 years old to create something similar. Not only is the artwork in this video very beautiful (kudos to all the artists, this is some splendid work!) but Dev's skillful blending of it all together is a work of beauty!
Although PMV editing has been around for a very long time online, I'm constantly amazed at how far we've come in terms of what we can do with these programs to create remarkable things. Well done, Dev!
And it's wonderful that he's acknowledging his Chinese fans. I knew they were a possibility, even if I haven't personally run into them. I'm so glad to see him making an effort to connect with his admirers who live in a country where viewing his work is practically impossible. Really demonstrates the greatest kindness Dev exhibits when speaking to them.
The next post is about character trivia, and it's one of my favorites. There are so many characters in the game that I wish I knew more about, even if it's just a breadcrumb of new information, and Dev just gave us the whole loaf. I'd love to see more of these for the other students because the video truly makes them seem so much more rounded and alive!
Dev clearly enjoys creating these characters, even the minor ones, as evidenced by the amount of effort and attention that goes into each one. (A shame Kokona's father is still in debt! Poor guy. Poor Kokona, too.)
I personally would enjoy seeing more content like this. Perhaps some trivia on the other rivals! The music is great, the ideas are quite original, and the visuals are really charming. I can't really think of anything to add on! I think it's straight to the point while also looking very pleasing to the eye.
Please make more of these if you can! I would love them very much.
It was so nice reading these and watching the videos themselves. It's clear a lot of love and care was put into it and I just love seeing it being put on display here. Two great videos, and it's all for us fans. I'm so grateful for them.
Good job on all your hard work, Dev!

February 2nd (Status Report) + February 2nd (202X Tutorial Update) Review
I wanted to apologize to everyone who is reading this, particularly Dev, for the current absence of reviews. I haven't had the time to truly be online, much less write anything longer than two sentences, because I've been so busy changing jobs and homes. Now that I've found a home and a job that suits me, I can carry on reviewing YanDev's WordPress!
Yes, I'm going back to Feb2, which is when my next review was supposed to be done. Dev is understandably taking a break from working on the game, thus this is as good a time as any to resume reviewing. I'm hoping that he sees these encouraging words and has something to look forward to during the next months.
I'll review everything having seen (almost) all the updates I know now (obviously), and I'll comment about how much better it gets with time, based on how well I think it was done back then. For the sake of lengthening this post and, well, for Dev's sake as well, I'll be examining the two Feb2 posts at the same time. 🩷
I begin.
I'm really happy that Dev finished the tutorial cutscenes! I'm really ecstatic knowing how wonderfully done it is. It's stunning and fluid on top of that. Compliments to the chef! Dev wants to make adjustments to the animations even after they are finished, ensuring their quality and completion. Knowing how much he was going to do at the moment made me so eager for the massive build that was about to be released.
For the intro animation's adjustments? Hauntingly gorgeous. It's a lovely touch to use the glass fragments as a symbol for how truly damaged Ayano feels. The smallest visual enhancements can make an already excellent animation even better, provided the art isn't compromised. There's a perfect balance of everything here! It's good to see him improve on what's already there; I really appreciate the direction he's taking everything in.
The game's update and how long it will be before the next one is released are covered in the following section. In all honesty, I find it hard to see why anyone would think that tutorials are generally a waste of time. I agree that tutorials are important and shouldn't be avoided, but seasoned veterans of all sorts of games wouldn't understand that! But Yandere Simulator is so complex and detailed that I feel a tutorial is very necessary.
Anyway, it is understandable why he might want to put the update off for a little while longer. Imagine creating a game this size and being prepared to add this large update to it. The game is strongly supported and shaped ever so slightly by the tutorial level, which also gives the impression that the game is getting near to feeling and being more complete! Making a YouTube video is a cool idea, but I can also see why he would be torn on such a significant choice as that. So I can definitely support the last listed con.
Making it the "newest" video on the channel would inevitably draw in the wrong crowd. While I consider the game's tutorial to be a significant achievement, the regular trolls and detractors might not agree. It's the fundamentals—something that introduces you to the game and helps you understand its mechanics. YanSim's growth has been a challenging process from the start. Making this tutorial now is entirely justified. Cut him some slack!
This makes a seamless segue into the next post, in which he announces his decision to refrain from posting a video about it to his main channel. Well played, Dev! Moving it to your secondary channel, where all of your other content is posted, is much smarter. It fits in well. (Thanks Cameron for providing the tutorial's audio! You were outstanding in all you did. I'm proud of you. Your work is fantastic.)
As someone who has completed the 202X tutorial, I can tell you right away that I adore it. It's well-designed and a lot of fun to do. Despite the fact that I already knew how to play the game, I found it to be a truly enjoyable experience, especially after a brief break! It was also wonderful to see Kokona in the spotlight once more! She's always been one of my favorite characters, so seeing her again made me quite pleased.
I have always wanted to make a game, with a tutorial to boot. And after being in numerous classes and doing all the research I possibly could to see where I could start out, seeing the tutorial of this game inspires me! Dev couldn't have released this at such a better time. A solid tutorial all around. Easy to understand, control, and finishing it didn't feel frustrating or overly-complicated.
Making a game, with a tutorial to boot, has long been a goal of mine. And after being in numerous classes and doing all the research I possibly could to see where I could start out, none of them truly inspired me the way this game does. This release by Dev couldn't have come at a better time! A strong tutorial overall. It was easy to understand, control, and complete; it didn't feel difficult or needlessly complicated.
(The idea of a custom level maker similar to that of the Final Test sounds like such a great idea. I'd play the hell out of it if that was ever a thing. The possibilities and videos on that would be endless.)
I have gushed about 1980s mode for so long. Still do. The prior rival introduction cutscenes were enjoyable to watch, but I always pondered how it would have seemed with actual cutscenes. I used to constantly experiment in my head with numerous angles and possibilities. And it appears that my wish has finally come true! These brand-new, diverse scenes are all exquisite, with amazing attention to detail! I frequently replayed the mode to see if I had missed anything in these sequences, and I'm always amazed every time I do. The quality and the passion are both present. It's genuinely excellent!
(I'm also impressed with the volunteer's work with the "Senpai meets Amai" cutscene. Feels really good, refreshing, and brilliant. Props to them as well!)
To me, the concept of a small town prototype has always been, well, huge to me. I've always found it fascinating to imagine exploring a town as Ayano and seeing other people interact. Sadly, I am unable to locate any concept pictured that I recall drawing at the time. But? I do recall Dev's post on Feb25 where he had a what-if idea of what it may be like to wander around a small town, and I just melted! I couldn't have asked for a finer picture of what it could be like.
New animations, enhancements, and bug fixes follow from here. For all of which, Dev deserves all the praise! Thanks to his diligence and perseverance, everything feels tidy and well-done. Dev has often demonstrated to us that effort and dedication are crucial, especially with significant updates like this. Congratulations to everyone, including Dev! He gathers everyone and does his share to ensure that everything is well-organized and, in the end, stylish and beautiful.
This update is enormous, magnificent, and wonderfully imaginative! I'm happy I waited since I absolutely adore this game and how it's being developed. I'm excited to go through all the other posts and give it the attention it still deserves. Endless acclaim and appreciation, even for small achievements.
Until next time! It's good to be back.

Since I was in middle school, Yandere Simulator has been a favorite game of mine. I started following and later playing the game at a period when I was having trouble being who I truly was and starting to like darker things. Although the game occasionally made me feel frightened (what I get for playing it so young, lol), with time, I came to appreciate it for what it was because of its dark, atmospheric nature.
I chose to get into darker media after I started watching gameplay for other games on YouTube. I noticed that there was more substance to it, and that there were more people who enjoyed it. So? Yandere Simulator has become my obsession, and I've made the decision to immerse myself in the community. I got to meet many other people, one in particular who helped me realize my dreams.
YandereDev himself.
A man with whom I don't speak to very often. But when I do, it's genuinely like meeting a famous person; I get the honor of actually speaking to my idol. Even if he occasionally becomes dissatisfied and frustrated with his own endeavors, this responsible, knowledgeable man loves his audience and what he does. He made it possible for me to understand that I have the ability to turn my passions into reality, even with just reading his WordPress posts and playing his game. I haven't regretted a single message I've sent him, and I only feel joy when he approaches me first. Even if we aren't close, I'm just glad to have met him.
And so when the recent drama came about, that's when I realized I had to solidify my decision.
Imagine that you are me and that you suddenly notice the most recent instances crop up at midday when you wake up. You then instantly head to WordPress to see if you can find out more information. Of course, it was certainly a surprise.
But the message I read was the most straightforward and honest I've ever seen. Well-written. Well-stated. And very sincere.
Admitting these kinds of things is difficult, especially if the public already holds unfavorable views of you and has done so for a long time. Making a game is challenging enough; having people laugh and point at you because of made-up disputes and faux accusations may make it seem nearly impossible.
He isn't a "failure of a human being" or a "sick bastard who doesn't deserve anything." He's human, just like the rest of us, and I refuse to put down another fellow human being.
He needs all support he can get during these trying times more than ever. It would be unacceptable of me to turn against him or use abusive language toward him. Everyone is making every effort to put the events that have occurred behind them. We can't keep clinging to the past because if we do, we won't be able to go on and develop the capacity to support others who have admitted very private things.
Because what you're doing right now is instigating more and more drama on top of drama. And that isn't fair.
I'm sick of holding grudges against people and never forgiving them. I will be blocking anyone who wants to bother me about it. Even if I am just another name in the crowd, I will continue to support Dev and his game. When I've struggled, his game has always been there for me. I can't just stand by and let this happen while being able to step in and lend a supportive hand.
Thank you YandereDev for everything. And thank you for developing Yandere Simulator.

February 1st Status Report Review
I'm getting close to 1 in the morning, and YandereDev just published a fresh blog entry. Let's analyze.
The finish line is in sight! I am very eager to see what the Tutorial build has in store. Kokona being there definitely makes me happy. Of course, she is a fan favorite, and she is also one of my own favorites. It is wonderful that she will be the focus of the tutorial.
I can see why he would want to change a few things in the cutscene. With such a sizable build, we wouldn't want any errors, or changes left to be desired. I adore it when developers always take care to identify every tiny error and address it appropriately. Dev is really skilled at figuring out what needs to be done and which bugs need to be fixed because every small detail matters.-
However, the new feature or overhaul he is referring to really grabs my attention. Is it a  weapon? Elimination method? I'm quite curious.
If you are reading this, Dev? It's ok to occasionally have to push off a new build. It's crucial that you ensure the product is in good condition. What you are doing is trying to make sure that the build comes out in the best state that it can possibly be in, and I'm proud of you. I wouldn't want you to put yourself under pressure! And check out that snazzy preview!  Perhaps Kokona will start to ask Ayano for a favorite of some sort? At least, that's the impression I had after looking at this. (There it is again, sleazy YouTube. Naughty company!)
But that second video is what really grabs my attention. The lovely setting and voice… It took me a few listens, but I'm interested in what will happen just based on that! However, I have a slight suspicion that it could be involving Amai. Hmm…
35 bug fixes and 24 improvements! What a tremendous lot of work! I must admit that YandereDev's efforts on these adjustments and modifications is really outstanding. Although I am aware that most people prefer to scan over or simply ignore the bug sections, I have always enjoyed reading them. Despite the fact that I did not personally experience any bugs, I love knowing what was fixed. It will be so much fun to read that WordPress post!
I eagerly await the build and will be patient, whether it comes tomorrow or over the following few days. I've been following along on the Trello website and seeing as each goal is gradually check-marked. And each time, I've been astounded by what has been accomplished. I'm really pleased of YandereDev since he is giving this Tutorial part everything he has. Even while Osana's segment is already fantastic on its own, it is good to have a Kokona tutorial placed in behind it.
Until next time!

YANDERE SIMULATOR TUTORIAL (VIA TRELLO)
The Yandere Simulator tutorial appears to be almost finished, based on the Trello page. There are only a few more stops to make before it is done. Dev and the volunteers are putting all their blood, sweat, and tears into this project. I couldn't be prouder!
There is no better candidate than Kokona to be the tutorial rival! I can hardly wait to see where this goes.
