Card Captor Sakura Clear Card anime - Episode 1 screening at NHK Broadcasting Center
Director Morio Asaka and NHK chief producer Keisuke Tsuchihashi must have felt the baddest trolls on earth when today, during the screening of Clear Card episode 1 for the media & relative press conference, they casually joked about “Syaoran being the last boss” and “Is there going to be a happy ending? who knows, I’ll dodge the question with a smile”
You might fool Kumai-san (poor woman was very worried about Syaoran’s development) with this shit but I see through you!! The happy ending is just a given!!
The more serious developments as we go along are very welcome though, thank you very much.
Interesting bits of this press conference:
- Ohkawa has written the script for 22 episodes already, but it’s unclear if that’s the whole episodes count or if there’ll be 4 more
- Morio Asaka will be in charge for the development of the series finale (which might differ from the manga, again)
- There will be an aquarium date episode, it’s unclear if that’s how they will portray Syaoran and Sakura’s first date (instead of the botanical garden), however the interesting bit is that the guard of the aquarium will be the very same of the previous series, LOL (he was in the mood for spoilers)
-EDIT: It seems like the SyaoSaku reunion scene will play with an instrumental version of Platinum as background music. You’re welcome. Now you know you have to get ready those tissues, at last. (thank you Eri for the heads up!)
- As stated in previous events, the voice actors didn’t know they were going to be acting again in this sequel until the very end, and Syaoran’s Kumai-san said that even after seeing that all of her colleagues were offered the part, she believed she might not get it due to Syaoran probably changing his voice now that he’s in middle school!
Luckily she’s on board like everybody else. The feeling I get is that everyone, voice actors and the staff, is very nervous about making everything absolutely perfect and not wrecking anything from the previous series.
With the press conference we can finally say it:
IT’S AROUND THE CORNER!
26 DAYS LEFT!
Ps. special thanks to @jaidesu for confirming bits here and there!
