She had a new playmate entering her territory. She’s quick to get on her feet and walk towards her visitor. Lavender eyes gaze at them as her smile grows, her hips sway from side to side as she starts her little game.

❛ Well, well. What do we have here? Such a handsome little one coming to visit me. I can’t imagine it’s for free. Tell me, what can I do for you? ❜

‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒  AFFAIRS OF GOVERNMENT SCALE KEPT the elder Kamisato sibling busy on most days , reducing his time spent within the household for leisurely activities. To have his one chance to have a simple day to himself swept away by the matters of importance resulted in a frown tugging at his features for seconds, much to the chagrin of his staff. To have his precious seconds tainted by her misdeeds felt like a slap to the face, but he should have truly found it admirable that she managed such a stunt in the first place.

      To one who shared his bountiful harvest (mora, food, medicines) with those he watched over, to have her practically stealing resources from his clan would call for concern, a larger sentence would be thrust on to lesser important beings, but even those wouldn’t grate the nerves of one such Yae Miko, he could assume. With a life like hers being so closely linked to the Raiden Shogun, doubts crept into his mind that he could manifest punishment that could contain her to a cell or be viewed kindly upon by the very archon that still ruled.

      Lengthy sleeves would hide his arms, keeping them folded over his chest as he mulled over how to begin, her sharp words cutting through the atmosphere. Exhaling through his nose, Ayato would finally speak, ❝ Now, now, Lady Guuji ; you decided to waste my time already, so it’s only fair that yours be wasted as well, hm? ❞ Smile had already returned to his features, though he wouldn’t dictate if this meant it was genuine or attempting to deceive her into a false state of hope. ❝ As for your, no doubt, insult, I must say that it’s quite a show to put on for someone deciding your punishment. ❞

❛ 𝐎𝐡, 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞. All I did was ask some of your people to help me out with a small project. We beat up some treasure hoarders near your estate and stole their mora. With the perfect divide, I managed to buy a bulk of fried tofu. Are you truly this angry over me helping you? ❜ A gentle hand rises to flip her hair. She’s really not the type to have any fears of punishment. Especially if she feels like she’s in the right. The Guuji sighs, before continuing.  ❛ I didn’t have to do anything, but I preferred your home safe and my tummy full. But fine, go on. Punish me, if you want. ❜

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞. By no means is she willing to settle on the battle between them. Victory is all that swims through her little mind yet she feigns defeat. The woman is an honest-to-god nightmare in his hands. Then another idea of how to advance on the metaphorical chessboard pops into the kitsune’s mind. A sly smile graces her features as she executes her new plan.

❛ So, would you rather think of some arbitrary punishment and waste even more time or ... join me in enjoying a delicious meal? ❜ Yae stares at the man, eyes blinking cutely as if she was merely a pet waiting on her master’s begrudging pets and affection. She had been naughty, but wasn’t she so cute? Right?  ❛ Pretty please? ❜

𝐍𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐭. Abusing her power was something the Guuji was more than used to. This had been a small miscalculation. A thoughtless action that had rather deep consequences. So now she sat, eyes big and puppy to try to get out of this. What had she done? The fox had been brave enough to ask The Kamisato Clan for help with the setup of one of her many brilliant schemes. The scheme, however, was to produce a rather ridiculous fruit. Fried Tofu. She had removed valuable resources to get fed. Once word got to the correct pair of ears... She was forced to explain herself.

Yae was a little upset by this. Not for her actions, really. Or even the fact that she was in “trouble”, no. This was wasting her time. These were precious seconds being put to waste by the head of the Kamisato Clan. She’d never forgive him for this. Her head tilted back, pink hair flowing with the movement.

❛ Can we move on with this? I’m sure we both have better things to do than sit here worrying about such trifling matters. Wouldn’t you rather be eating the tofu or fighting some beetles with the Oni? ❜

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲. No, no, no. This certainly will not do. Yae Miko sighs in exasperation as the boredom catches up with her lack of patience. Was she going to have to make her own fun? It sure seemed that way until a ray of hope crashed right next to her. Beautiful crimson leaves dance with the petals of the Sacred Sakura tree, revealing a figure surrounded by a gust of wind. 

Ah so, it’s him. How curious of him to come by, but there it was. A prayer of hers answered just in the nick of time. She’d have to play nice for the moment. Maybe, he had news that she could use. Maybe, even a story that could crush boredom for a few hours. She turns to him with a smile, hands behind her back as she leans towards him. Couldn’t have things be entirely tease free, that’d be much too nice. 

❛ What brings you here, samurai? Have you ached for your home so much you had to come pray? ❜
