The idea of two stager mons that don’t much evolve into new creatures but rather just metamorphose, keeping the same name was just revolutionary for me.

i'm not entirely sure. something about SI, or maybe filling a void left by leaving religion. there's also an aspect of Snoopy being the original bean-faced dog, so a god in some way
