Hello dear members! We come bearing some bad news, and it saddens us all deeply to have to do this; but unfortunately the admin team simply doesn’t have the time to properly put into the group any longer and we believe that its time to close Salems Point. We all have been struggling with finding the time outside of work / school to dedicate to the group, but we unfortunately aren’t finding the proper amount to focus on the main, as well as all of our characters. We are absolutely amazed and blown away by the members who have stuck with us since the previous group and/or through our revamp, and we completely adored each and every one of your characters. We truly wanted to see Salem’s Point flourish and continue bringing this plot to life, and are all sadden to have to make this post.

Hey, is that AMY ADAMS? Oh, no, it’s LENA PATTERSON. I hear she is THIRTY-ONE and she can be COMPASSIONATE, HONORABLE and CHARISMATIC, though it should be noted that they’re known to be DEMANDING, HOSTILE and DESTRUCTIVE. We’ve heard some strange things about town, but we’re pretty sure that they’re HUMAN.

Headcanons

Being the second youngest child of four, Lena has a hard time coping with her siblings being dead, and probably in a better place. Coming too know that others around her have siblings who are alive, she is quick to change topics.

Lena trying to convince Clyde of having baby. Lena wanted a family of her own, after her siblings have all married off. Lena had trouble conceiving and when she actually did find out she was pregnant and was about to tell Clyde it was when his lips and teeth came into contact with her neck.

Lena was brought back to life by a witch whom she did not know, nor did she know how it was even possible for her to be awake. After her long slumber it took a long while for her adjust, eventually making some friends who have helped her to get on her feet.

Running into Clyde would cause Lena to have an overflow of mixed emotions and she had a lot to say and a reason to be very angry at him.

Adjusting to her knew lifestyle and meeting the rest of her husband’s family.

Smoke was heavy in the air, ash littering the streets of Salem’s Point as the fires still continued to blaze suddenly throughout the weeks. Authorities and the fire department had no new answers to who or what was causing these fires to suddenly appear out of seemingly thin air. Despite the size of the town, it seemed that no one had bore witness to the starting of any of the fires. And it seemed the only witnesses, the men found at the scene of the crime, naked and covered from head to toe in soot, were as confused as the authorities themselves. Lacking in memories, unsure of how they had wound up in the middle of town, on the outskirts of the forest, or in the center of a burned down building, the men were of no help to determining who had caused the fires or why they continued to happen even out of the fire season.

With minds heavy on the fires, worrying if their homes or businesses would be next, the mayor was pacing back and forth. The townspeople needed a relief from the worry, from the torment of going to sleep wondering if they would be next in this path of unknown fires. And so the mayor met with the families, with the authorities of the town and discussed how they could help the townspeople. Which is when the Delore family graciously volunteered, even with the loss of their parents hanging heavy on their shoulders. For the family was as determined as the mayor to resume the good nature of the town, and to remind everyone that this would pass.

And so the annual Halloween event would be set up early this year, allowing for easy and fun times to befall the townspeople, giving them that breath of fresh air while the authorities worked to uncover who was starting the fires and why. The Delore family located an area just outside the town limits, where ruins loomed high and ominous, creating the perfect scene for some Halloween fun. With the help of their magic and some volunteers, the Delore’s turned the ruins into a haunted maze of sorts, with volunteers dressed up as goblins and ghouls to scare those faint of heart. They lurked around the corners, waiting for their next victim to come walking around so that they could jump out and scare them.

With the ruins situated along the tree line, the forest welcomed the many carnival games that were set up throughout the space. From bobbing for apples to pumpkin tosses, the Delores did not disappoint when it came to the assortment of fun games for all ages. The family, along with the mayor, wanted the townspeople to momentarily clear their minds of the fires looming so the fun would last from early morning to late night, with a bonfire ready to blaze on the night of Halloween.

The event will last OOC until November 2 at 5 PM EST.

The event will last IC until November 1 at 12 AM EST.

All festivities are happening either in the ruins where the haunted maze is situated or in the forest where the games and booths and food are set up.

Games can be anything you would find at a typical carnival, with a Halloween twist. So think pumpkins, skeletons, cauldrons, and more.

There are food stands set up from the local diners and restaurants, along with some other volunteers in the town. There are stands for caramel apples, colored popcorn, hot dogs and hamburgers, and more.

The bonfire will be happening on Halloween night, once all the children have had their chance to go trick or treating. ( We will make a separate post once everyone can start posting about the bonfire itself. )

Please mark all starters with both salemspointstarter and salemspointevent.

As well, make sure to answer any starters that are event related so that everyone is included.

Scarlet is the product of several abusive relationships, almost everything she does is something that was carried over from a previous relationship where she needed to be organized or where she wanted to be loved but was scared to. Her home is immaculately cared for because she doesn’t want anyone to see a weakness.

Scarlet has a five year-old daughter as a product of one of those said relationships, Scarlett named her daughter Angel because she learned how to be a better person by putting Angel first above any relationship, and when relationships turned manipulative or violent she pulled herself out of them by thinking about Angel first.

Despite her past Scarlet is very good at remaining sweet and happy, and her mask of happiness rarely ever cracks. Whether it is in her work or play she is always able to find a light happy side, and currently she is studying to become a doctor so she can help other people the way doctors helped her so many times.

Scarlet’s favourite treat is fudge, she can’t help herself when she’s near fudge, it’s like an instant attraction, but even though she loves fudge she can’t stand marshmallows, and if a fudge is made with marshmallows she will spit them out again, she’s pretty sure it stems from being told lungs feel like wet marshmallows.

Scarlet’s parents own a herbal dispensary from home for witches so she is quite often helping out with that while she’s also looking after her daughter, studying, and attempting to have a social life. While she comes from a well to do witch family she needs to pull her weight around the place as well, as to her parents getting pregnant at seventeen does not qualify for well to do, despite her parents loving Angel with all their heart and knowing how she was conceived in the first place.

Hey, is that BRANT DAUGHERTY? Oh, no, it’s TRENTON ‘TRENT’ GAUTIER. I hear he is THIRTY (1000+) and he can be LOYAL, ADAPTABLE and CHARMING, though it should be noted that they’re known to be VAIN, DISTANT and ENVIOUS. We’ve heard some strange things about town, but we’re pretty sure that they’re an ORIGINAL WEREWOLF.

Headcanons

Doesn’t necessarily hate his older brother for what he did and had them turned into, but Trent has a greater respect for him so what he truly feels is never turned into words. Unless the courage to speak up to him were there, then Trent would speak up and tell him how horrible of a mistake it was.

Of all the things in Trent’s life, the one thing he can say with sincere honesty is his passion for traveling. Makes the best of immortality, only ever returning home in between travels, staying long enough to get reacquainted with everyone before packing his things once again and seeing what else the world could offer him.

Anger isn’t much of an issue for Trent, however, if his buttons are pushed the wrong way or someone messes with one of his siblings; he isn’t afraid to get a little dirty.

Who do you think would fit the Gautier aesthetic better: Brant Daugherty or Dean Geyer?

Hello love! Truthfully, both Brant and Dean would fit the Gautier aesthetic perfectly. If you’re having a hard time choosing between the two, I would suggest seeing which of them has the most resources for you to use. Personally, I would love to see Brant on the dash, especially as one of the Gautier siblings.

As well, we’ll leave this open for our members, so that they may be able to assist you with deciding! Members?

Evening guys! We just wanna preface this post by saying that we’re extremely happy with the activity and plotting that everyone is doing and the inspiration you’re all getting for new characters as it’s you guys that bring Salem’s Point to life! This place couldn’t run without you and we’re extremely happy to have you all with us. With that said, there are some minor housekeeping rules that we want to go over to make sure everyone understands our expectations as admins, and keeps this place running as smoothly as possible for both us and all of our members, current and prospective! 

As far as posting on the dash goes, we want to make sure things are kept as clean as possible, as it makes the flow of everything on the dash easier to read and honestly, who doesn’t love posting that looks nice?  While it’s not necessary to use gifs in long para’s, we’d like to see them used as much as possible to effectively convey the feeling and atmosphere of the thread itself, and if used they should be small to medium gifs only, as large gifs often clog the dash. If the faceclaim you’re using is lacking in small to medium gifs, we’ve found that using ezgif is a great way to resize gifs.  In addition to this, using small text is preferable. The easiest way to do this is to highlight the piece of writing and press ctrl + shift + - and this should shrink the text to suit the rest of the dash. Here is a guide for further instruction on how to do this!

As well, since we want to keep the dash clean in all prospects, we wanted to touch lightly on smut. While we encourage our members to develop their characters in every way possible, we want to urge you all to not focus majorly on smut and / or ships for your character(s). While these can be fun outlets for your muses, we also encourage the build of friendships or even enemies, as well as self development. Though this is certainly not a huge issue, we simply wanted to take a moment to touch on it and include it in our post.

And to finish this up, we wanted to inform you lovely lot that we decided to update the guidelines page for the group. You can find the new and improved page here! Now since that is done, we will focus our entire attention on finishing up adjusting the lore page and making this a brilliant place for you all to bring and develop your characters!
