Exhibition I am really pleased with how everything looks setup. It has been a really exciting and fulfilling project for me. I have evaluated my exhibition space in depth in my sketchbook.

These are my final photos that I have taken for the exhibition. Each photo has a room and some use gels and a torch for colour to add to the mood. I am really oleased with how these came out. I had a lot of help and advice from my photography teacher which I am grateful for.

Here I am testing how the photo cut outs are going to stand on their own. For this method I added two small card stands onto the feet, cut a slit into the paper and then slid the stand under the paper.

Laurie Simmons - ‘Interiors’

I like how a traditional girls dolls house is the main focus for these works, which all question the woman’s roles as a housewife and mother. Using a traditional method adds a sense of irony to the piece as it contrasts with the expected meaning. Symbolic?

These are some test shots that I took of the rooms whilst trying to work out their layout. It was comforting to see these images and that my idea is working and coming to life slowly.

This is the stage my boxes are at now. They look a lot better after two coats of white paint. I have started to put in the floors and wallpaper.

Making the rooms I had a lot of help and advice from my dad when building the boxes that would form the rooms for my dolls house concept. In these images we are cutting the wood, cutting the acrylic mirror on the tile cutter and cutging the windows.

I decided to base my final piece of the dolls houses and the dream house that I had seen at the exhibition. After planning, the idea I have decided on is to put a different memory in each room which follows the story of my parents break up.

I visited the v&a museum of childhood for some inspiration for my final piece. The most exciting thing I came across was the small stories exhibition, exhibiting dolls house from different generations

Polyblock prints My favourite of these is the print on fabric as it gives a really ghostly effect. I have evaluated each of these in depth in my sketchbook.
