FANNY AND JESSY w/ SPACE COWBOYS. live sets from Spashh and Nod Your Head
Fanny and Jessy, the east end fashion queens of cool, launched their online shop with a party at SALON. Hackney-ites descended onto Mayfair and the club became a busy scrum of leggy models and scruffy haired antipodeans. Amongst these greasy haired lunes were the new hotly tipped 'it' band of the moment SPLASHH (luvluvluv records) who performed songs from their album, including my favourite the 'All I Wanna Do' - the song casually and quickly written by Toto and Sasha in their bedrooms, which managed to cause a stir and the attention of Luv Luv Luv Records who swiftly signed them
These fours lads, 3 part aussie, one part brummie, create a summery sound that is destined to be the the album of next summer, and hopefully this years Indian summer *crosses fingers*. Their new video 'Vacation' was launched today (in fact I think I recognise a glimpse of supermodel Georgia Frost in the video, also spotted head banging last night at SALON) and is a sunny pop banger that is reminiscent of The Strokes and even the Stone Roses with the bands style to match this - skinny ripped jeans, ill fitting tee's and greasy mops, complete with the front-man Sasha wearing cheap sunglasses (worn indoors of course - how Rock and Roll).
The only thing we need is an Indian Summer...

Diary of a DJ: LFW highlights
After an exhausting first day of shows & DJ gigs the rest of London Fashion Week was a bit of a blur for me, but here are some of my personal highlights... I was invited to the Todd Lynn show and not really knowing what to expect I was extremely impressed by the collection and the overall presentation for Spring/Summer 13. The Apocalypse Now inspired jungle theme informed green khaki shirts, some stunning prints and muted green suede pieces which paved the way for all-black evening dresses, pencil skirts and laddered fabric revealing glimpses of flesh not to mention the sumptuous shoes by Louboutin. The collection was entirely sleek, empowering and sexy and with its atmospheric tribal soundtrack by ex-Libertines drummer Gary Powell it was one of the more cohesive and accomplished shows of the season.

Another pleasant surprise was the Rag & Bone presentation produced by My Beautiful Fashion which was housed in a specially created marquee right in the middle of Sloane Square and opposite the brand's new flagship store. After a slight delay due to the unprecedented level of demand for the viewing, the presentation was originally scheduled to run once through but was shown twice to accommodate all that turned up, I entered the transparent structure greeted by eager champagne waiters and took a seat. The presentation consisted of models, including British darlings Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn, lining up and turning on the spot in front of wall mounted body-length video screens that acted as mirrors giving a direct and concise overview of the varied but entirely cool collection, which debuted earlier in New York. It was slick, feminine yet edgy, sporty but elegant and completely wearable.

London design trio Sibling, consisting of Sid Bryan, Joe Bates and Cozette McCreery, hosted a delightful afternoon tea in the lounge of London's exuberant W Hotel hosted by PR guru Mandi Lennard and attended by some of London's coolest cutting edge trend-setters. Running on loop in the hotel's screening room was a short film of the latest Sister by Sibling collection shot in the hotel's opulent disco-ball adorned glittery rooms by up-and-coming director Gabriel Gettman. The film encompassed a John Waters influenced retro quirkiness filtered through a Sofia Coppola-esque soft focus that looked like a high production affair showcasing the sparkly and colourful knitwear that the brand has become instantly renowned for. I'm a big fan of Sibling and Gettman's film revealed yet another side to this fun-loving and exciting brand.

Other highlights of the week included the Vivienne Westwood after show party at Salon, which I had fun DJing for. A sea of influential fashion industry insiders, celebrities, press and fashionistas partied until 3:30am, suffice to say I was a little exhausted for the remaining days because of this and Ella Dror's Fred Butler party the following night! Another favourite fashion moment for me was Ada Zanditon's Tarantino-inspired SS13 film entitled The Tigress, not least due to model Yrsa Daley-Ward's striking look and some high-speed car chase antics in the desert. Until next time...
