Did you know that JRR Tolkien wrote an unpublished epilogue to Lord of the Rings? It's achingly, beautifully wistful in the way that only Lord of the Rings is. I revisited it recently because I'm guesting on my friends' LOTR podcast, and THAT reminded me that I drew a comic of the epilogue back in 2021 (all text is entirely canon). Anyway I thought folks on this website might enjoy it!

Summary: Bilbo and Thorin were cursed by Smaug upon recovering the Arkenstone. Bilbo sets out to break the curse at the same time that a Blacklock dwarf appears in Erebor claiming to be Thorin's Consort. With friends old and new they must return to save Erebor and remove the dragon's curse from the Arkenstone or Bilbo and Thorin will forever remain...just out of reach.

New Chapter: Chapter 1- Strange Travel Companions

Estel followed him warily. The dwarf still had yet to drop his hood, but given he didn’t have any other choice he thought it best to trust him. For now. They found a cavern that wasn’t too deep, although the dwarf was quite insistent on checking it for traps before they decided to camp there. After they had a fire going and he shared his rations and salve did the dwarf start to ask questions.

“So what are you doing out here alone?”

“I could ask the same of you.” He returned.

The dwarf smirked. “I’m not alone. I have all the company I need right here.” He replied as his hands glided through the fox’s fur once more.

Estel wrinkled his nose, not sure what to make of him before deciding to be honest.

“I was separated from my hunting party.” He admitted.

“Ah.” The dwarf remarked. “Then your best bet is to make for Rivendell. Should only be another two to three days' journey from here.”

“You know where Rivendell is?” Estel remarked in surprise.

The dwarf nodded as he reached for his pipe and lit it. His features briefly were illuminated, but Estel couldn’t make out much other than his short dark beard and his beak-like nose.

“Aye. Been there before.”

“Could you take me there then?” Estel asked eagerly.

The dwarf shook his head. “No.” He answered softly. “My path is my own, and you’ll find that I won’t be here by first light.”

The “destiny knot”, is a east asia legend where two people connected by the red thread are fated to be lovers/friends, regardless of time, place, or circumstances. This magical cord may stretch or tangle, but never break. And you know, whether you like them together romantically or not, you just have this feeling that Thorin and Bilbo really were destined to meet each other that night.

hello!!!! i just got done reading the Percy jackson books and i loved them!! im so happy the show got me into them. i just wanted to draw something with the book description of annabeth <3

Edit!!! since this is getting more traction omg let me talk about what i was thinking. For the design in the back I was kinda tryna go for Athena to her left looking over her shoulder like. Always standing in her mothers shadow her mothers always watching and then I just took inspo the swirls from some Greek vases

edit 2: someone said this was ai on twitter bc the pattern on the shirt and oh boy 🤩 art so good I get my first ai accusation. no I just suck at drawing that dumbass Greek pattern 😭
