Please don't take this as an attack, but as someone who was in the Dream Team fandom, don't you get where they were coming from? I mean, not the ragebait cause that's insane, but the people saying it's hard being a fan of something - there's genuine harassment in a lot of spaces. It's not oppression by any means, but rolling your eyes at someone saying it's hard to be a fan of something is a little harsh, don't you think?
no bc im not going to compare toxic fandom cultures to systems of oppression ive had bad experiences as a dream stan ive had to threaten ppl with police but i would not say my life is hard bc im a dream stan and i think if you’re experiencing difficulties that are affecting the quality of your LIFE because of the interests you have then you should remove yourself from those spaces bc thats literally not normal like it’s not normal to experience things so bad that it’s affecting your LIFE in fan spaces . being a dream stan can be frustrating and it can make u angry at times bc of the way ppl treat him but i don’t think you can say it makes life difficult to the extent where you’re willing to compare your experiences with systemic oppression unless you’re really parasocially involved in the fanbase

i hate prom season bc i have to see everyone else in pretty dresses but the pretty dress i bought only got worn at one fitting bc my prom got cancelled due to covid and then my mum sold the dress without telling me . when she did tell me she basically told me it looked better on the other girl too so i should be happy for her . i want to wear pretty dresses >:(
