The intersectionality of Inhumanism and the LGBTQIA+ community is often ignored but important to understand. Most Inhumans are, by our very nature, sexless beings. With having no assigned gender at birth due to this lack of a perceived sex, we are often left to the whims of our parents.
Many Inhumans learn they're Trans or Nonbinary or Agender later in their life, but are told they're wrong. Many others grow up to not present with the gender their parents arbitrarily chose for them and are condemned for it, being treated like it's their fault that their parents chose to label them as one thing despite them growing up to present differently.
When sexuality gets brought into the spotlight, it's even more complex. What does "straight" or "gay" mean to someone who exists outside of human gender expression?
Labels become muddled for us because of what we are, but they're still the labels we use. Inhumans have been a part of the community for as long as we've existed and by keeping us out of it, you're fully adding to our erasure.
The Queer Inhuman Pride Flag
[ID: A flag with three sections. The left has a triangle divided in two. The top has six vertical lines made up of vibrant rainbow colours in the order of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. The yellow stripe is thinner than the others. The bottom of the triangle is made up of four horizontal lines, the top three being in descending order of white, pink, and blue and the last stripe, which is twice as thick as the others, is yellow with a purple ring in the center to resemble the Intersex pride flag. The triangle sits on top of another flag made up of four horizontal lines. The lines in descending order are white, light brown, vibrant orange, and vibrant red. /End ID]

I've decided to go ahead and discuss some of these terms.
Demonic: An In/Nonhuman that resembles any creature that the culture they were born into would deem demonic or a demon.
Living Doll: An In/Nonhuman that resembles something like a mannequin, a puppet, a stuffed animal, or any other anthropomorphic toy that could be described as a doll.
Living Plant: Similar to Living Doll, an In/Nonhuman that resembles sentient plants.
Deity: An In/Nonhuman who is godlike either in appearance or power.
Godly: The micro label used to address those who are gods
Demigodly: The micro label used to address those who resemble gods and may have some power, but not gods themselves
Feral: An In/Nonhuman that resembles an animal.
These terms are not mutually exclusive and they can, rarely, cross over with each other. I would like to remind you to not use these labels on anyone who doesn't already use them on themself.
Inhuman microlabels are a controversial thing in the community due to their origins. They were made to separate us and box us into categories, a way to mark some of us as evil or as weapons or as things that need to be destroyed. We have luckily managed to break away from these but some Inhumans and Nonhumans still choose to use them. I'm under the belief that if you really feel like a label describes you, you can use it.
That said these labels should be a personal choice, not that of any human friends nearby that decided to call their mannequin friend a "Living Doll Inhuman" because they heard the term and decided to label them. I personally dislike being labeled as I fall under "Demonic Inhuman", something that has often been used to excuse my abuse as fine under the religion I was born into.
Inhuman microlabels are only reclaimable by Inhumanity itself, not by humans.
#oc#oc roleplay#inhuman activism#inhuman terminology#ive met a handful of inhumans who used the labels#never any nonhumans though

The Inhuman gene can come accompanied with a particular mental illness called "Inhuman Spectrum Disorder". The term was coined in the 1930s to explain what was "wrong" with Inhumans, as at the time labelling them with any human disorder was considered blasphemous so they had to give us something.
Despite the origin, the term is still used today to describe issues/illness/difficulties Inhumans face that don't fit exactly with human disorders. There are different "types" of ISD such as Depressive and Psychopathic, each with their own struggles and symptoms. Sometimes there is no real help for Inhumans due to our different physiology.

Inhumanism vs Inhumanity, Terminology and Definition
When someone uses the term "inhumanism", they're talking about the discrimination against Inhumans and Nonhumans. When someone uses the term "Inhumanity", they are talking about the Inhuman and Nonhuman experience. A commonly asked question is:
"Why does Inhumanity not include Nonhumans?"
It does, but the term "Nonhuman" was not used until very recently while the term "Inhumanity" has been used since the late eighteenth century. Same reason as why there is no "Nonhumanism", just inhumanism.
Inhumanists will always assume you're Inhuman before even considering that you might be Nonhuman and while Nonhuman struggles are often much more isolating than that of Inhumans, they still face a lot of the same discrimination.

Too many Inhumans are abused under the pretense that their differences make it ok.
Telling your Inhuman child that because they heal fast, they're overreacting when they get hurt is not ok.
Telling your Inhuman child that because they have very limited dietary restrictions, they're overreacting when they can't eat the food you made is not ok.
Inhumans are still sentient creatures that require love and affection. Understand your kids instead of mistreating them because you refuse to listen to what's best for them.

When speaking about Inhuman struggles, the plights of Nonhumans is often brought up. I have compiled a list of a few things that have been said to me and my answers to them.
"Nonhumans aren't like Inhumans though, they're second removed and often barely human."
But they're still sentient creatures. Nonhumans are still (more often than not) born of a human parent. Yes, they're one step removed from the human gene due to their Inhuman parent, but that means nothing in the long run. Would you shame a mutt because it's one parent away from being purebred? No.
"How can you possibly speak out for the entire community, you're just an Inhuman."
We often forget that Nonhumans are inherently Inhuman. The specification of Nonhumans was created by governments to shun their existence, to bring them shame for being born of one or more Inhuman parents. I cannot claim to understand the struggles of Nonhumans, I just know that they share the struggles of Inhumans such as myself because they are, inherently, Inhuman.
"Nonhumans are freaks and they shouldn't be given the same care as Inhumans."
I would like to note this was said by an Inhuman. Nonhumans have more developmental struggles due to their Inhuman parent, but it doesn't make them freaks. We as a community should not shun our fellow Inhumans and Nonhumans. We have to stand together if we intend to ever be recognized and accepted as people.

I figured for my first real post, I'd introduce the Inhuman flag
[ID: A flag with four horizontal colours. The top colour is white, the second colour is a light brown, the third is a vibrant orange, and the bottom is a more vibrant red. End ID.]
This flag was created by a young Nonhuman who opted to remain anonymous. The colours are inspired by the oldest known Inhuman goddess, Miyuki.
The white represents the good that can come with being Inhuman, the parts of us that can help others
The brown represents two things: the "normal" parts of us, the things that make us like anyone else despite our appearances OR those of us who are mostly human
The orange represents deviance, the differences between us that make us each unique
The red represents the bad that can come with being an Inhuman, the parts of us that we cannot control but do not represent us
There are other proposed flags such as the Inhuman Anarchy flag originally created by Idew Johnson in the 1920's and the Freak Pride flag created by internet users @/inhumanityrules and @/redandgreen on a now dead web page, but this is the flag I shall be using.
#oc roleplay#inhuman pride#no insult to the other flags#this is just the one that I personally use and feel the most connected to#inhuman activism

Hello! My name is Salute Terri, but you can just call me Ms. Terri (or just Terri if you wish). I am a transfeminine nonbinary panromantic Inhuman who uses she/her pronouns. I am an activist for Inhuman and Nonhuman rights working to help stop Inhumanism.
(OOC under the cut)
Ok, so, hi. I don't know what I'm doing tbh this is just for fun. Context: I ( @null--void ) have a world called The Inhuman Files and Salute Terri is a character in that world. I just wanted to roleplay her a Tumblr blog sooooo that's what I'm doing. Um. If you wanna ask her questions, feel free! If you wanna ask me questions, just say put (OOC) before your ask and I'll answer. Tho these asks will be rarely answered here and you're better off just asking them in my main.
