How-to/DIY’
- How to relax after online classes
- As this time of pandemic, many of the students felt a great impact of stress and anxieties due to the pressure of online classes. Many of us somehow manage to simultaneously do both our academics and responsibilities within the household, but never manage to clear the minds of everything at it. So, here are a few tips to ensure your mind is at rest after a long day of online classes.
1. Reduce screen exposure- By reducing your screen time on your gadgets, you’re also resting your eyes from the radiation containing from your screen. It also helps on avoiding dryness of your eyes, headaches, etc.
2. Take naps- As due to online classes, sleep has been the great reduction of it, as somehow, many students can’t take a full 9-hours of sleep due to the workloads at hand. So, after online classes, if you have a chance to take a nap for a few hours, you’ll replenish your energy and getting enough of 9-hour of sleep, only dividing the time.
3. Take Breaks- Just like naps, you must also take a few minutes break as online classes can be draining. Don’t take breaks by revolving around gadgets, you must get back some energy to prepare for the next classes. I suggest eating some healthy snacks of lying down WITHOUT ANY GADGETS AT HAND, to ease up your tension for the next classes.
4. Unwind from time-to-time- As the pandemic continue to occur, unwinding is one of the best ways to ease up your mind. As huge load of requirements and responsibilities at hand, you manage to not take up rest from it, so unwind your mind for a whole day, distancing yourself from the stress that you build up this week, and take a breather from it. Visit some places that are allowed, or hangout with your loved ones, and having a time to forget everything will help you out.
5. Coping mechanism- As stress builds up, there are ways for us to cope with it; to reduce the stress that we’re experiencing with it. Your coping mechanism will be dependent on how you relax, either exercising, long walks, small time of gaming, or just hanging out. As long as you still have the senses to remember the things need at hand, you must also have a way to relax the stress that keeps building you up.

Travelogue
- Throwback Travel: Bisita Iglesia of Grade 9 – St. Benedict
- Back then, my school had planned a small trip where we will visit some famous shrines and churches here in Laguna. And it’ll be the last time for our section as grade 9 students, even though we’re still gonna be the same classmates when we get to grade 10, it’ll be the last time as the advisory class of our science teacher, Sr. Lowell Melicio, the head of the Campus Youth Ministry or CYM. Though I couldn’t remember the names of these places, but I do remember each of their details at hand. The first trip was at a hill located shrine, where a large monument of Mary under construction, the inside was quite under construction but there are other rooms that are accessible for us to pray and mourn for it, after that they let us take pictures for a few and let the drivers and jeeps take rest as they waited for us early morning. After that, on our way to the next location, some of the jeeps got broke down due to the over heat of its engine while the other one somehow got slide to a nearby river, somehow, luckily thanks to the soft hill, the tire manage to sunk in before the jeep crashes down unto the moving river. The next location was a close campus to the association of our school, and somehow the inside was the most beautiful one I ever seen. The ceiling contains art that shows the faces of children who got terminally ill and along with it, God was in the middle of it; the parish priest told us that the paintings cost them around 1 million pesos, which some says it’s the cheapest of its price range on a parish that wide. The next one was a simple church, located inside the school, as it gives us the moment of silence to thank for this trip and everyone is safe along the way. And the last shrine is located to a famous teen singer who competed in the Voice Teens around 2019, and I think it’s already declared as a National Shrine. Inside, the structure was similar to a church in Manila, with a mass ongoing, then some of us go to some images that represents the station of the cross, another is a large figure of Jesus who’s similar to Sto. Nino and many touched it and pray for it. Even though my memory of this trip was vague due to how long time ago, but somehow, I manage to remember some bits of pieces of the trip. Many of these places contain a lot of scenery that makes it a great tourist spot for visitors and followers, as well as being a great spot for schools to come-by when they got the chance of it.

- The Sudden Emergence of Businesses during the Pandemic
- Due to the pandemic, many workers, businesses, and establishments are force to close down due to the huge reduction and loss of income. As many of them are dependent to their loyal customers, who always visits and purchase one or two items in their shop, many of these businesses have shift their way to online business. Online business has been prominent since social media has been a mainstream use for advertisement, but now due to the pandemic, many individuals and groups are now to resolve their loss of income to online business of their choice. The most common business some may seek is the food business; foods coming from comfort, trendy, or even meals that satisfy the customers for their cravings. Some individuals may resort to offer their services in specific events, due to the limited capacity and operation, some of the events are pick and dependent on the allowed rules according by the IATF. Other are resort to sell products that eventually may took an eye or interest to the buyers, either for collection, fashion, or need as support for the family. Majority of these businesses are the way of support as income for the family’s needs as many expenses in this pandemic has increase due to the low rate of employment. So, please, support your local business near you, either an online, a food industry, a reselling of products, or a need for income, there’s nothing more satisfying than to buy products and items that will satisfy both the consumer and the seller.

Personality sketch
From City Brat to Humble Probinsiyano: The Story of Christian Gonzales
I am a boy who grew up in the city, the city where many people believe opportunities will come, and take it for granted; a quote that anyone who lives in the province thought so. Both of my parent grew up in the province of Laguna, and knowing for the fact they wanted a better future for the family, so they move in to Manila, the capital region in the Philippines where most of the cities are founded. As I grew up, my parents always gave me their whole attention, spoiling me with rewards, and praising for always being their favorite. But as time pass, everything changes from a single moment. My parents decided to move-in their province of Laguna, where we will start living there; and the moment I learned about it, it devastates me; not because were moving to a place where we’re familiar with, but for me, I am the only one in the family who feels out of place when we’re at the province. As I grew up in the city, getting used to the city life, easy finding of needs and wants, as well as high quality of its education, living, and recreation. But now, in Laguna, I struggle to socialize with other families and friends that my parents had, knowing for a fact that they only knew me as their son and nothing more. But once I started my school year, things change for the better. My start at school was a bit hard, as many of my classmates are familiar with each other, and only two transferees are part in the class which is me and a new girl who’s familiar in the class thanks to her cousin. But once all of us get to know better, I somehow manage to slowly blend in the class, getting out the self that wanted to express in public, the extroverted and quirky Christian instead of the disciplined and well-mannered person who was a cold personality to others. The out-going who always wanted to socialize and meet new people instead of the shut-in person I am. And finally, as the times passes by, I somehow change myself for the better; instead of me being the top and best in the things I can, I manage to become the humble self, who’s willing to help out anyone who’s in need, the person who will give his best efforts, the person who will live his best years of his life. Maybe I am better to be this way instead of who I was in Manila. And I can say for granted, that I’ll stay here until I can achieve my dreams.
