their love is so special to me. something about accepting someone regardless of their flaws and loving them as they constantly change. their unwavering courage to fight for one another, and steadfast loyalty is incredibly envious. i crave a love so passionate and true, this movie has left a mark on me forever.

I can’t for the life of me remember Naomi Ackie’s character’s name (Nasha!) but that shot of her comforting Mickey in the isolation box while holding him and telling him he’s okay makes me so emotional 🥺

what if u were a sacrificial lamb who died and died again and again until it was nothing more than a joke to you and everyone around you but someone loved you so so so much that whenever they could (which isn’t often, but it is every single time they could) they sat with you and sat with the reality of the ugliness and the grief and the pain even though you were made to die and made for nothing but dying

this scene was a standout for me and unexpectedly very moving. Nasha fiercely recognised Mickey’s humanity. Something that he’d been alienated from by his role as an ‘expendable’. After every death and reprinting Mickey was met with either cold indifference or the type of curiosity afforded to a lab rat. Mickey’s deaths were played as flippant and humorous till we saw how horrific and torturous they’d been. He would die and be reprinted repeatedly but she knew he held the memories of every death. Even though there was nothing she could do to stop this death, she did what you do when someone you love is dying, she comforted him. She got right in there with him to witness it so he didn’t have to die and remember this one alone

thinking sooo hard about Mickey being like “i pushed a button and it ruined my FUCKING LIFE”

and then at the end, 18 pushed a button to end his life and 17 pushed a button to destroy the printer and start living again

the fact that sex played such a huge role in Mickey 17 isn't just a fun hot little addition to a good movie about antifascism - it's intrinsic.

They want your sexuality repressed unless you're procreating the "right kind" of babies.

Nasha wants Mickey to be able to grow old with her so that she can suck him off for the rest of her god damned life. Nasha wants to know the name of every sexual position so intimately that her sopping wet boyfriend and her can use the names as a secret code in public. Nasha wants to have sex to feel ALIVE and full of joy. Nasha is going to break federal law to have a threesome with her boyfriend and his clone and she's gonna be high as a fucking kite when she does it. Sexual expression IS resisting fascism because the joy of fucking connects us and gives us something to fight for. Nasha is a hero and her sexuality is intrinsic to it.

everyone has been saying nasha was the only person to not ask mickey what it was like to die, but no one is making the connection that she didn’t have to ask bc she already knew. on presumably 3 or 4 occasions, nasha held him as he died an agonizing, horrid death. she was the only person who even thought to give him comfort in those moments. she’d never ask him how it felt, she knows.

I’ve said it already but Nasha is the character of all time. Girl found out her boyfriend had a clone and her first thought was to have a threeway. She kissed both of them in front of an anti-clone officer and told him to suck it. She even gives him this look when they meet in the movie:

Girl looks like she’s about to eat him alive while he looks like a prey animal. I love her.
