DON’T think about sam with his little flip phone in 2005 logging on to his email and seeing jess’s parents emailing him asking if he’s okay and where he went and what happened because they know this can’t be easy for him either and they want him to know that he has a place to stay if he needs time to grieve and they always liked him and they know jess loved him a lot and they just want to hear back from him because they want their daughter back more than anything but they’re grateful they didn’t lose two kids in the fire and sam forgetting to reply because he’s sewing up a new stab wound from trying to avenge her because you’ll be sad if you do

this would’ve taken canon in an entirely different direction, but i do think it would’ve been cool if the show had gone in more of an american gods direction, and it turned out that the reason all the major events of the apocalypse happen in the midwest/south US is because those areas are concentrated pockets of belief in a revelations-style apocalypse
