How did she know that her own hubris, and someone else's deadly calculation, would lead to her untimely demise?
got/asoiaf meme ♕ [3/6] costumes | wedding dresses (part 4)
Since her introduction, Margaery Tyrell’s style has always been distinct, with each sartorial choice having a particular motive and message. For her wedding to King Joffrey, her wedding dress checks off every style box that she had previously employed. It is backless, sleeveless, and cleavage-baring, but it is also, at first glance, approachable and soft. That is, until you look closer. The dress is a very light blue, a paler take on Margaery’s signature colour, and printed with a subtle leave pattern. It is also covered with a plethora of fabric roses and metal thorns. The crown that she wears features stag horns and roses intertwined, but as well as representing the union of the Houses Baratheon and Tyrell, it also represents Margaery’s creeping influence on Joffrey. This, coupled with the use of the Tyrell rose and thorny vines that decorate her gown, and the elaborately styled curls piled atop her head, conveys an unmistakable and triumphant message: the new queen is here.
