Hajime: Even if that’s the case, it has nothing to do with me.
What happened this morning was just an accident. It was a once in a lifetime miracle and nothing else.
〈Spring, when cherry blossoms are almost in full bloom.〉
〈I, Koino Hajime, start my second year of high school today.〉
〈I was a little more careful with how I did my hair, and left the house earlier than usual. 〉
〈I held onto that fleeting hope that something special might happen today.〉
〈But still...〉
〈I am currently running for my life in a rush!〉
Hajime: *Pants* Oh no, I’m going to be late!
*Pant* 8:20 AM! Thank god. Looks like I’ll make it on time…!
(Today is horrible. My favorite keychain got ripped off.)
(And because of that, I had to go back even after I left the house early.)
(At least someone brought it to the police box.)
(Ah… My face is dripping with sweat and my hair’s a mess... Even after I went through all the trouble to style it...)
(But I had to run or else I wouldn’t make it on time! I can’t possibly be late for the first day of class after spring break!)
(I know it’s foolish of me to have such high hopes but...I’m going into a new class and I’m finally used to my new uniform.)
(Whether it’s something special, a destined meeting, or even something tragic...!)
(But of course it can only be found in my wildest dreams.)
(Is this divine punishment for having high expectations? Haven’t I run out of enough luck already?! God, you absolute idiot...!)
...Oh! I can see Yumenosaki town’s six way intersection. Just a little more to the school!
(Still, it’s such a strange path that Yumenosaki town is known for.)
(It’s really hard to see where you’re going around here—)
Ack?!
Ow… That hurts... I ran into someone and fell to the ground... Why is today so mean...?
Eiki: Sorry for running into you. Are you alright?
Hajime: No, I’m sorry too! Thank you—
(Wow...He’s so pretty...! That’s the same uniform— Wait... Huh?)
Eiki and Miki: ...
Konatsu and Mahiro: ...
Hajime: (What?! There’s four people reaching out to me?!)
(U-Um. Which hand do I take?!)
〈Not to mention, these people are—〉
Airi: So what happened? What happened next?
Hajime: Eh? What are you talking about, Airi?
Airi: Well, you said all four of them reached out to you, right? So whose hand did you take?
Hajime: I didn’t know which one to take so I just got up on my own. I did apologize and thank them for trying to help me though.
Airi: What?! Why?! That’s such a missed opportunity!
Hajime: A missed opportunity...? What are you...
Airi: I’m right and you know it. You ran into them, y’know! They’re the school’s—
〈That’s right. The four super hot guys from our school that anyone would recognize.〉
〈The handsome prince of the school that overflows with elegance: Nakaouji Eiki.〉
〈The blunt one who’s actually really kind and cool: Kurose Miki.〉
〈The senpai who’s always popular with women and lives life freely: Asuma Mahiro.〉
〈The flirty and cute devilish angel kouhai: Nekomura Konatsu.〉
Airi: ...super famous guys! That kind of opportunity is rare! You should’ve at least gotten their Anstagram accounts.
Hajime: There’s no way I could have.
Airi: Don’t reply so half-heartedly. Jeez~
Did you know that people from other schools come by just to try and see them? With the way they’re treated, they’re basically like celebrities.
Hajime: Even if that’s the case, it has nothing to do with me.
What happened this morning was just an accident. It was a once in a lifetime miracle and nothing else.
Airi: You never know, it could be a destined meeting.
Hajime: As if. That wouldn’t happen for me, I’m sure.
Airi: Boo~ You’re so adamant about this. You really don’t have dreams, huh. How boring~
Hajime: Isn’t it just you trying to have fun?
More importantly, it’s our turn to order. Did you decide what you want to get?
Airi: Gah! Oh no. I didn’t think about it! What should I get... Um...?
I wonder if there’s still any free seats…
Hajime: Oh, over there! There’s seats for both of us. Let’s go, Airi.
Nice~ How lucky for us.
Eiki: I apologize again for this morning. You’re still okay, right?
Hajime: ...
N-Nakaouji-kun?!
Airi: Ah, Hajime! If you back up in this small space, you’re going to bump into someone—
*Sigh* Of course...
Miki: That hurt.
Hajime: Ah?! I’m sorry, I’m so sorry! It was an accident! I got startled—
Huh? Kurose-kun?! Ah...! This is the second time today! I’m so sorry!
Konatsu: Hm?~ Why is it so lively? Did something happen?
Huh? In the middle of the crowd, the person lowering their head is...from this morning...?
Mahiro: Ahaha~ So where should we go later today? ♪
Hm? One second, everyone. What’s...?
Ahh. It’s the cute girl from this morning.
Eh? Ahaha. Don’t make such scary faces, you’re all plenty cute.
Hajime: Really, I’m sorry...!
〈I thought I wouldn’t have another encounter like this again.〉
〈Something that would have stayed a once in a lifetime miracle.〉
Mayoi: But when I saw Tatsumi, I immediately felt all my worries disappear! As expected, Tatsumi-san is a saint who is always saving someone like me!
Kohaku: Uh, so.
All of us are here to help HiMERU-han?
Hm~ I guess it’s because we had an easier time with yesterday’s shoot compared to those two.
Mayoi: ...
Kohaku: Can someone respond already? I’m getting lonely from how much it feels like I’m talking to myself.
Mayoi: Oh, um, yes! I apologize! Anzu-san sure is quiet!
Since you’re such a skilled producer, there should be no problem with you acting as a superior and giving orders!
Kohaku: And? You’ve been acting suspiciously. Plus you haven’t contributed to this conversation at all and you’re just slowly slipping away.
It must be because you don’t want to help your friend Tatsumi-han, or even the heinous Crazy:B.
Mayoi: I would never! I don’t see Crazy:B that way at all! In fact, I feel as though we’re peas of a pod since our units debuted at the same time…!
Kohaku: I see. Well, that’s troublesome. I know I’m contradicting myself, but you shouldn’t try to get all buddy-buddy with us.
Mayoi: I, um, was actually hoping to get closer to you on a personal level since it would be terrible of me to hurt you
Kohaku: …? I don’t know what you’re going on about but let’s get along at least for this job. Here, let’s shake hands~♪
Mayoi: Kyaaaaaa?!
Kohaku: …Jeez, that scared me. Why are you yelling all of a sudden?
Mayoi: I’m sorry for catching you off guard! My heart and mind were colliding and made a metallic sound!
Kohaku: Your heart is made of metal?
Mayoi: The impulsive thoughts that wanted to go rampant were being held back by my logic that I call restraint! It’s still unreliable and weak though…!
Kohaku: You're unexpectedly a weird guy, I can’t even keep a conversation with you. Didn’t you have an easy time yesterday when you were paired with Niki-han?
So you are someone who can do it if he tries.
Mayoi: It’s not that. I don’t even know why we got the OK yesterday! That’s why I don’t know what to do now that I’m paired with Tatsumi-san…!
Tatsumi: ...
Mayoi: Ah, Tatsumi-san! Tatsumi-sa~n! It’s Mayoi…! It was difficult to talk to these people I don’t know very well while walking with them!
But when I saw Tatsumi, I immediately felt all my worries disappear! As expected, Tatsumi-san is a saint who is always saving someone like me...!
Tatsumi: Mayoi-san…Anzu-san, Kohaku-san. Good morning everyone.
Kohaku: Oh, good morning. Hm? Wasn’t HiMERU-han with you?
Tatsumi: (Sigh) We ran into a bit of trouble.
Mayoi: (Uu… I want to hide behind Tatsumi-san! I want to be enveloped by the kindness and warmth he radiates from his whole being!)
(But if I were to move right now, I’m sure it would look suspicious…!)
Tatsumi: Is something wrong, Mayoi-san? You’re fidgeting.
Speaking of which, even though we were told in advance, you really did get someone to help us, Anzu-san.
Kohaku: What do you mean?
Tatsumi: Um, well. As you may be aware, yesterday our pair—HiMERU and Tatsumi Kazehaya—were struggling and couldn’t get a single good take.
So in the end, we couldn’t complete our job.
Kohaku: It sure looked like it. We didn’t know what HiMERU-han was so embarrassed since he didn’t want to tell us anything.
Tatsumi: Fufu. His pride gets in the way of consulting his friends for help.
As for me, I told ALKALOID everything yesterday.
Mayoi: You sound…oddly happy to say that…?
Tatsumi: Fufu. That’s because if there’s something you can’t do, it means there’s still room for you to grow.
It’s especially important for ALKALOID to know because I’m often seen as “the big brother who can seemingly do everything” with them.
I feel better knowing that they understand that’s not how I actually am.
Mayoi: Uu…too bright… You’re so optimistic, Tatsumi-san. Even when you’re having problems or feeling worried, you never let it show. Ah…I want to rely on you…!
Kohaku: But isn’t this situation technically not your guys’ fault? It’s all up to the higher-ups on whether or not they say a take is good.
Tatsumi: Yes. This troublesome situation was unexpected. Even with all the time we had yesterday, we got nowhere despite our best efforts.
So we decided to consult Anzu-san yesterday since we realized our efforts alone wouldn’t be enough to get over this hurdle.
HiMERU: ⸺We’re not close friends! He doesn’t understand why the friendship points keep increasing despite him not doing anything!
Tatsumi: What are you talking about?!
You really are acting strange, HiMERU-san.
HiMERU: You shouldn’t be concerned. Just in case, HiMERU went to a doctor who examined him thoroughly. HiMERU was told there was nothing wrong with him.
(That’s right⸺There’s clearly something wrong so “I” had the family doctor examine “me” at the hospital where “HiMERU” sleeps.)
(That doctor is certainly reliable and trustworthy. “I” would never entrust my precious “HiMERU” to someone who wasn’t.)
(Not to mention, that doctor knows “HiMERU’s” body more than HiMERU himself.)
(For “HiMERU’s” sake, we’ve spent lots of money on repeated check-ups and the like.)
(That doctor has a lot of data on “HiMERU,” and of course, this means they have “my” data as well.)
(Despite that, the doctor said there was nothing wrong after examining HiMERU.)
(But even so there has to be something! HiMERU doesn’t even want to think the doctor could possibly be a fraud!)
(To make sure, HiMERU went to different clinics and hospitals to be examined but they all said the same thing! Whether it was in regards to his mental state or his body, they couldn’t find anything wrong!)
(This means that HiMERU is either 1: Imagining it.
(Or 2: He contracted a new disease that no one knows about.)
(As of now, the chances of either are 50/50. But it’d be horrible if it was the latter. HiMERU wouldn’t be able to continue working as an honest and respectable idol.)
(HiMERU wouldn’t be able to stay as HiMERU!)
(That version of HiMERU is detestable!)
Tatsumi: Are you really okay, HiMERU-san? It looked like you were going through something. Are you in pain anywhere?
At the very least, let me pray for you.
HiMERU: ⸺Don’t treat HiMERU kindly!
Tatsumi: Huh?!
HiMERU: He’d prefer you not getting too close and bothering him!
Tatsumi: I…I see. Sorry for making you uncomfortable.
HiMERU: So you finally have some self-awareness.
Tatsumi: I’m sorry?
HiMERU: Nothing. Don’t worry about it. You didn’t do anything and HiMERU is fine.
Tatsumi: I’m worried because it doesn’t look that way to me.
HiMERU: Why do the friendship points keep going up?! Even with the way HiMERU is acting!
Tatsumi: I still don’t know what you’re talking about!
If you have any troubles, feel free to consult me, HiMERU-san. It wouldn’t be about our relationship, would it?
HiMERU: We’re not close friends! We’re total strangers!
Tatsumi: Oh, um, I don’t even think we’re close⸺
HiMERU: (Ugh. It’s useless taking it out on Tatsumi. It’s his fault for doing things that piss HiMERU off. But venting my frustration out on him wouldn’t do any good.)
(If HiMERU believes in the theory the doctor came up with, that means he’d have to consult Tatsumi after all⸺something he is reluctant to do.)
The truth is…
Tatsumi: Yes?
HiMERU: This is hard to say but… Currently everything HiMERU sees is like a game.
Tatsumi: Huh…?
HiMERU: The doctor said it was a side effect of spending too much time in a realistic world with the SSVRS.
Now HiMERU cannot distinguish reality from game.
Tatsumi: I remember you saying something like that earlier…
HiMERU: Yes. The SSVRS tricks all your senses into thinking the game is reality.
Playing continuously for long periods of time causes negative effects.
Tatsumi: I didn’t know it was so dangerous…
HiMERU: Generally it’s okay to use. They wouldn’t sell it otherwise.
It seems as though HiMERU is suseptible to outside information. The doctor concluded all this stems from HiMERU himself.
Tatsumi: What do you mean?
HiMERU: HiMERU can’t explain in detail but please understand that HiMERU is not in the right state of mind right now because of the SSVRS.
Tatsumi: Okay.
HiMERU: The doctor suspected that it won’t go away until HiMERU clears the game.
It’s vital that his brain recognizes the game has been completed. And when it does, he will be freed from the clutches of the game world, almost like how he’d wake up from a dream.
But of course, this is all just speculation and might not even work.
Tatsumi: Hm… From what I know, Love★Star is an app game.
So there isn’t exactly a way to “beat” the game.
It’s not like Super M*rio where you just have to defeat B*wser and save Princess P*ach.
HiMERU: It’s unpleasant hearing those words come out of your mouth.
But you’re right, an app game could seemingly go on for eternity without ending.
However, in Love★Star, there is technically an ending.
HiMERU: (Seriously what is this? A hallucination? Surely not. It looks scarily too real to be fake...)
〈The next day. HiMERU’s dorm room〉
HiMERU: (In the end, we ran out of time yesterday and still couldn’t get an okay take.)
(ALKALOID, still being pushed forward by ES, has to attend to another job. Tatsumi had to go there instead.)
(Despite Crazy:B being left with spare time, HiMERU does not want the others to know that he couldn’t finish his job and had to stay behind to continue experimenting.)
(HiMERU could tolerate all of Amagi’s teasing but he could never deal with the thought of Shiina and Oukawa treating him like a helpless toddler.)
(Because of this, HiMERU ended up using the SSVRS headset to play Love★Star all day yesterday.)
(He had to play it in order to figure out what kind of game Love★Star was. By doing this, he can get a rough estimate of what the producers want to see from him.)
(He needs to figure out the producers’ “right answer” and grasp it.)
(To have male idols HiMERU knows flirt with him endlessly is nothing but pure agony.)
(HiMERU will just think of this as a necessary hardship he must endure in order to maintain his image of the “perfect idol.”)
Tetora: HiMERU-san. HiMERU-san!
It’s morning~! You gotta get up or else you’re gonna be late for school!
Actually, hold on. HiMERU-san, you don’t go to school, do you?
Arashi: It’s hopeless, don’t wake him up like that, Tetora-kun. HiMERU-chan was messing with something late into the night so let him rest a bit.
Tetora: Ah, now that you mention it, it’s like you could hear HiMERU-san monologuing to himself in bed. I’m starting to get a little worried too on whether or not the guy’s getting enough sleep.
Arashi: Surprisingly, you’re the kind of guy to get worried about stuff like that, Tetora-kun. Seems like you’re the nervous type.
Tetora: Yessir. I’m kinda jealous of you though, Narukami-senpai. You’re always doing things at your own pace.
Arashi: Oh, are you implying that I’m inconsiderate? Well, I was in such a deep sleep anyway.
HiMERU: …Good morning to the both of you.
Arashi: Oh, you finally got up.
Tetora: Sorry for waking you! It’s fine if you head back to bed~ We already got ready and we’re heading out soon!
HiMERU: ⸺I was wondering why I could hear everyone’s voices but couldn’t see anyone. It seems as though I had fallen asleep with the SSVRS headset on.
I was playing Love★Star in bed and fell asleep. It was an accident.
Tetora: Love★Star?
Arashi: Ah~ It’s that popular game. I don’t like it because of how they changed my character to be different from me.
Tetora: Umyuu. I kinda guessed you wouldn’t like seeing yourself fall in love with women.
Arashi: Well since it’s only a game, I won’t let it bother me since I know the difference between what is and isn’t real considering there’s no correlation to real people anyway.
HiMERU: …
Arashi: ? What’s wrong, HiMERU-chan? You’re staring… I’m sorry, I don’t mean to make anyone feel bad for liking Love★Star.
Or rather, no. I don’t want to make you feel bad for liking it.
It’s not the first time I’ve been treated like an ikemen idol.*
HiMERU: Actually, HiMERU wasn’t playing Love★Star because he liked it. It was because⸺
big fan of marriages of convenience. marry your best friend for tax benefits. marry your roommate for college tuition breaks. "marry" your love interest for plot-contrived reasons at a fake wedding, then accidentally fall in love & get married for real in the epilogue. so many possibilities!

Still laughing at the concept of pretty 5. Who started it? Who decided the members? Who invited Aira?
Some point they just decided yeah this is a circle for pretty people where we're gonna be pretty together and do Girl Stuff. No we're not accepting new members, read the name.
hello~ sorry for the sudden question, but do you think you'll ever finish romantic date? if i'm not mistaken, you were the one who translated the first 2 chaps but gave up bc someone else finish it, right? but the person vanished and so did the translation, so i was really hoping for someone to finish it ;u; it's cool if you don't have plans for it, just asking bc i'm curious :'D
hi, thanks for the question. i think i definitely would like to finish it since i don't like leaving it unfinished but it might take a while. though if you want to read a completed translation that's still just as good, check out azurecrystalz (also on tumblr)!
Tatsumi and Mayoi Convo TL (from Cross x Mark scout)
Tatsumi: ...I see, so that’s what happened.
Mayoi: I’m sorry for clinging to you in tears. You’re the only one I can talk to about these sort of things…
Tatsumi: It’s alright. I’m honored that you rely on me. So to summarize: You want to help Nazuna-san but you can’t figure out how, and you're losing to the concept of “pretty”.
Mayoi: Yes. Because Anzu-san and Narukami-san are there, I feel as though I am unneeded. I couldn’t stop thinking about these horrible feelings so I ended up leaving… Uuu…At this rate, “pretty” will start appearing in my dreams.
Tatsumi: Fufu. It’s like you’re saying “pretty” is some sort of living creature. In any case, don’t let it bother you too much. Everyone will understand that you are at a different pace than they are. Besides, in my opinion, you are pretty as well, Mayoi-san. And as I’ve said before, you are lovely. Anzu-san is Anzu-san, and Arashi-san is Arashi-san. And your “pretty” will be able to support Nazuna-san.
Mayoi: I am…pretty…?
Tatsumi: Are you doubting me?
Mayoi: No. You’re always guiding and aiding me after all. This time…I’ll believe you and do my best!
Tatsumi: That’s the spirit. May God bless you guys. Amen… ♪

Tethering a colorless self-consciousness
Shisen Hold me tight (Eyes on me, hold me tight)
An ambiguous territory blending into the darkness
More, deeper into those eyes
Your secret side
(Please capture me)
Reflecting the lonely love calling out to each other (Into your heart)
I want a stronger, more definite outline
While being forgiven everytime I ask (Into your heart)
Pierce me with your passionate gaze, Hold me tight
Burn it so that it leaves a scar
