I designed a new pride flag because I needed to replace the torn-up one that I was using, and I wanted something a little more sparkly, magical, and Art Deco-inspired than the standard stripey ones this time.
(no shade towards either Gilbert Baker's OG rainbow flag or Daniel Quasar's later chevron version btw, they're both really good designs! I just have a very particular design aesthetic that I wanted to go for. However, I will say that reading Gilbert's autobiography Rainbow Warrior gave me some fantastic insights into his design process and inspirations, and it really helped my solidify some of the different choices I was considering, on top of just being a wonderful book)
A huge thanks to everyone who voted in my poll and helped me figure out some of the tougher design decisions along the way (especially @talesinprogress) - I don't think this would've turned out half as good without all your input. Thank you.
take a good majority of ‘personal safety’ tips you see online with a grain of salt, but that seems reasonable
