This is a small thing, but I find it so interesting that the lyctors wear iridescent white robes. The text describes them as being the color of an oily sheen on water, and there's symbolism there of course, but a thing I've discovered (while trying to do a TLT cosplay) is that white iridescent fabric is always polyester. Plastic-based, terrible-for-the-environment, beloved-of-fast-fashion polyester. It doesn't breathe. Every time you wash it, it leaves behind microplastics in the water (which is maybe something to be examined about the Mithraeum's water recycling system). It's a major product of the oil industry, an industry which is heavily contributing to, if not spearheading, climate change.
And I think it's just so incredibly in character that John - the man who was given the power to save the Earth but instead started WWIII, trapped Her soul in the body of a Barbie, and has used Her as his personal power source for a myriad without a care for what She wants - picked a polyester fabric as the symbol of the First House.
Likely, he didn't even think about it.

Autism acceptance includes accepting all autistic manners of communication.
That means supporting autistic people who talk in a "very childish" way. (I do this a lot irl)
Autistic people who do "TV talking" (this means talking like a character from your favorite media, basically talking in quotes and copying their speech patterns,as far as I know)
Autistic people who use echolia.
Autistic people who are very awkward/quirky when they communicate.
Autistic people who are overly technical,or have very sophisticated and articulate speech.
Autistic people who mumble.
Autistic people who talk really fast.
Autistic people who can't control their tone of voice/inflection.
Autistic people who talk in a monotone voice.
Autistic people who use different kind of sounds,or body language to communicate.
Autistic people who talk slowly and draw out their syllables.
Autistic people who use a lot of sentance fillers.
Autistic people who use Aac devices, communication cards, etc etc.
Edit: acceptance of nonverbal autistics is also necessary. Nonverbal people deserve love, respect, acceptance, accommodation and support.

I hate hate hate hate how dog friendly everything is in the city now. Barring medical necessity, there is no reason to bring your dog to a restaurant, there is no reason to bring your dog to the grocery store, there is no reason to bring your dog to the nail salon. Dogs do not need to go everywhere you go why am I being forced to be around dogs all the time

While we're at it: using language that downplays genocide is a form of genocide denial.
Joe Biden isn't doing a bad job, Joe Biden is providing material support for genocide.
Israel isn't handling the situation badly, Israel is committing genocide.
Employing euphemisms minimizes the reality of this genocide. It's disrespectful and dangerous.
If you are more uncomfortable with the word genocide than you are with the reality of genocide, then you are not prepared to be part of any serious discussion. Work on that on your own time.

The school system is bullshit, they treat kids who have special needs and/or medical issues like shit just because they can.
My mother had to threaten my 2nd primary school with lawsuits because they refused to let me reapply suncream.
In the middle of summer.
I have vitiligo, the autoimmune condition that is literally triggered by the sun.
Said school continued putting me at risk.
SUNSCREEN MENTION
I'll fucking kill them. Its just all about control and teaching kids their needs dont matter.

too tired with people to say in " nice " way .
R slur is slur . R slur was previously diagnosis , that become slur , because people so violent hate intellectual disability . is insult by compare to intellectual disability , because think intellectual disability worthless .
can not speak for literally all others with intellectual disability , no , but in general from what see and who talk to , very few people with intellectual disability actually want see this word , and often think not even worth take back .
so . be quiet about right to " take back " R slur with autism , with ADHD , with anything other than intellectual disability . many actual people with intellectual disability do not want this word to even exist anymore .
where other groups might have movements to take back words , intellectual disability movement is to remove that word . both movement types can be right - which one work better depend on group - and should respect .
so . honestly , just want people forget word even exist .

So, there's a lot of USians around who are very clearly fucking fed up with their political choices this election cycle, and planning to sit it out.
And I get it! What's the point of voting if there's no one to vote for?
The thing is, I'm Australian. In Australia, voting is compulsory. We don't get to sit out our elections, and I'll be real honest with you - we don't exactly get better choices than you lot. So how do you vote if there's no one to vote for? You find someone to vote against. And there's always someone to vote against.
Now, we have the pleasure of preferential voting in Australia - We get to rank every candidate from 1 to X, and I'll tell you, there's something so cathartic about putting the biggest bastard of the lot at the very bottom of your preferences. I understand that USians don't get that option - you get to mark one person, and that's it.
That means that you get one shot, so aim it at the biggest bastard of the lot. The candidate you most utterly detest. Put your vote in the worst possible place for them. Don't even think about who that vote's going towards, that's not the point. Remember, every vote is a vote against someone. Make sure you fuck up that someone's election day!

It's easy to focus on what was going on with John and his friends in their lab and forget about the huge encampment of well-armed conspiracy theorists outside...
John describes there being a "shantytown" of "thousands" outside the lab when he first reveals his powers. When he puts up the cow wall, it covers two acres. That's about two football fields. (He later laments that he didn't make the wall out of the conspiracy theorists, as people would have been less upset about that than cows).
After he starts a cult, they're up to "a couple thousand" and the situation is apparently so concerning that UN Peacekeepers are flown in again the wishes of the government.
The deaths that make John realise he can eat death energy happen because the authorities exchange fire with armed would-be cultists outside.
When he kills everyone with a gun outside of the cow wall in a kilometre radius, there are over 100 of them - which suggests the scale of what they were facing in John's compound.
And by the time things hit the crunch point, John's followers turn on him:
you’ve got to keep in mind is that we’ve got hundreds of cultists on both sides of the cow wall, and quite a lot of these guys are One Nation nutbars who think they’re going to see out the end of the world in a bunker and live to build a beautiful paradise that looks a hell of a lot like The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress. And those guys have illegal semiautomatics. We’ve still got Wi-Fi, more’s the fucking pity, and those guys are talking to their people on the outside, and they flip. So while me and the others are having this massive fight, we get the message that a hundred of these guys have changed their minds about us, and they’ve surrounded the inner building with guns and we’re going down. They’ve taken a hell of a lot of the other cultists hostage, so if I start killing anyone the hostages are dead meat.
Apparently it took John until then to realise that being a popular online personality with a trendy red meat diet might attract a crowd who are not interested in your forthcoming paper on 'phthinergy'. And thus the lab gets stormed by several hundred ex-cultists, who break through into the building with molotov cocktails (this is around the point that John suggests that the "next cult" should be teenage girls), and proceed to shoot most of John's friends in front of him.

okay ngl im kinda mad about that one post about labru cannibalism symbolism being racist or whatever. like its not. why does everyone keep acting like shipping labru or even enjoying kabru in any sort of way is racist or whatever this is literally so dumb. op literally said that he was south asian coded “but ohhh same thing applies” like well that just changes literally everything you brought up oh my godddd if you want more poc in media to be appreciated stop holding everything to the same boring ass fucking morally correct standard. let kabru be a little freaky abt it
“oh you only ship labru because you want laios or whatever you’re making kabru’s only trait as being obsessed with a white guy” 1. why would you assume that. are poc not allowed to be gay anymore. whatever. 2. its the other way i around i want kabru and i kin laios like i like laios but whatever. 3. also i think their relationship is interesting asf like even outside of shipping lr whatever
ofc theres racist dumbfucks out there but in general i think people should be a little bit more lax. like people are so scared of falling into stereotypes and stuff they’re terrified of even approaching making shit about poc. just fucking relaxxxx people oh my god

Ik the episode was full of "Fellas is it gay to--" moments with Kabru and Laois BUT THE FACT THAT Kabru was studying Laois close enough to tell that Laois pupils were dialated???????? Holy shit???? Fellas is it gay to be so locked into your hyperfocus of a man crush that you can immediately tell that his pupils are dialated and why all while intently listening to him ramble about his special interest?

Okay so this is gonna have manga spoilers so please don’t read if you’re anime only and don’t want spoilers BUT:
My hot take is that I don’t think Kabru ever wants to kill Laios. There are definitely times where he thinks he has to because he’s so deeply afraid that Laios may accidentally or inadvertently create a similar situation with the dungeon on the island as what happened in Utaya, but we see him trying to convince Laios away from that path enough times without resorting to violence that (to me) it doesn’t read as actually wanting to kill him.
Like yeah we all make jokes about how Kabru wants to kill Laios, but I really think killing Laios is a ‘plan c’ option for him on how to prevent another situation like Utaya. He wasn’t the one to come up with the idea to kill him and he never attempted it either. I really don’t think he ever hated Laios at any point or wished death on him, he always thought he was fascinating and wanted to get to know him.
Here’s a guy who loves monsters (Kabru hates monsters) and he wants to know why this guy loves monsters (Kabru was told as a child he might be a monster) and he wants to be friends with this guy who loves monsters (he was told as a child he might be a monster).
And like, again, I love me a lil “haha kabru wants to kill laios” moment, but like… Kabru never actively wants Laios dead what he wants is to protect the island from a potentially horrible fate. I just feel like thats a pretty important distinction I don’t see as often as I expected. (And a distinction that surprised me when I read the manga)

important ! In recent years especially this year I’ve noticed a lot that the internet language picked up so many Islamic phrases and, from a muslim perspective, it makes the internet a little more welcoming. the thing is, a lot of the time with Islamic phrases you have to be careful about when and where to say them they hold their own weight and demand their own respect so here is a list explaining each phrase and some notes about it.
In sha allah
It means “ If God wills “. Muslims say it because we’re unaware of what future holds it’s actually blasphemous to claim to know the future, so saying so means “ If it’s the will of god it will happen if not it won’t “ and you’d say it about future events. side note, it’s also a polite way of saying No. for example, someone asks you to do something and you say in sha allah. Technically you’re not saying yes or no, and if it’s not in god’s will it won’t happen.
Ma sha allah
It means “ this is what god intended “ and it’s a compliment. Saying so is like saying WOW! But it’s also kind of a prayer of protection? If I see someone with pretty hair I should say “ Ma sha allah your hair is very pretty “ the ma sha allah protects the person from the evil eye. By saying that I’m also saying I’m not jealous I’m genuinely enamored and I don’t wish any harm to go to it.
Astagfurullah
it means “ to god I repent “ or “ from god I seek forgiveness” it’s usually used when you make a mistake but people also use it when they see something bad or when they want to avoid saying something bad. Like once my card refused to work and I’d say that so I won’t say any curse words and to calm down my anger
wallah/wallahi
okay this one is important. This one shouldn’t be used so lightly. It means “ by god’s name “ and it’s basically swearing in Allah’s name. You are only supposed to say it if you genuinely mean what you’re saying. It’s such a heavy word that I only say it very rarely and if you say it and don’t follow up on what you said you have to fast for three days as repentance.
One more note is that with the name of Allah you should also be careful it’s not supposed to be written on papers that’ll get stepped on or lightly used in art because it also has its own weight it’s regarded heavily. Like even in home decorations it should be elevated and not overshadowed. If I have to throw away a paper I have to sit down and color over the name of Allah or burn the papers so it won’t get thrown in trash.
another note is that those phrases aren’t Muslim exclusive. Some Arab non-Muslims use them as well. This is only my explanation from a Muslim perspective.
Another another note is this is what I can remember at the moment but if you have additions or enquiries let me know
