Conspiracy theorizing is a disease that affects people smart enough to detect a pattern, but not smart enough to not get fooled by random arrangements.
However, the only thing dumber than believing in conspiracy theories is believing in none.  The inability to recognize that people in power plan to do things, cover it up and use PR strategies to conceal the truth (also known as a conspiracy theory) is delusional.
