SandRay will end my life Pt.5 (LAST ONE PROMISE)

Ray's dad climbed up rankings for me this week honestly. I'm glad they didn't carry out the miscommunication things because I think it would be too long and drawn out. They need to make room for the Boeing conflict which I'm sure will be Boeing asking Sand for another chance, Ray is jealous, Sand rejects Boeing (Hopefully at least), RaySand become official??

when I tell you guys this transition from the therapist to Sand had me Gagged with my mouth on the floor I mean I seriously was speechless. I cannot get over the fact that this is all Ray's imagination; he loves Sand so much that he is the only person he sees in such a vulnerable mental state.

Khaotung once again stunned with this performance. He has made Ray, a character that by all accounts should be hated a little more, seem like such a real, flawed, raw and vulnerable character.

This part really touched my heart.

"Being with me requires some patience."

I think this part in the monologue was very important to Ray's character because he is finally acknowledging some of his inherent character flaws, but also the things that his friends have never been able to give him. Patience, love, care, time and encouragement. Things that only Sand has been able to show him with time.

And he is so scared to lose that.

Can I just say that Ray's imagination views Sand so beautifully. He imagines him as patient, willing to listen, kind and warm. Someone that he can lean against and help him through this difficult time. It's amazing that it took for them this long to understand their feelings for each other when this is how Ray sees Sand.

I don't even know what to say for this. Ray just wants to be loved, but I don't think he understands exactly how to let that happen. While the miscommunication with his dad is one thing, I think the preview for next week gives some more insight.

I really don't believe that it would fit with Sand's character to sleep with Boeing again while he is still with/fighting with Ray. Sand loves him, and I think it would be lazy and rushed writing to have Sand sleep with Boeing, fight with Ray about it, make up with Ray, all in the span of two episodes.

I'm guessing a flashback is what First was referring to when he said he had a love scene with someone else.

Anyways, here we go with one more week of waiting!!

SandRay will end my Life pt.4 (sorry :/)

Ok sorry I really don't mean to make these as long as they are. Like I literally always think "ok small post easy to read blah blah" but here we are lol

Ok listen y'all I'm not saying I'm relieved that they finally had the apartment fight...

But I'm relieved they finally had the apartment fight.

I only mean this in the way of we've all been so anxious to know if this would happen during ep.11 (cursed) and how they would come back from this. But I'm glad that it finally happened so we could still have time for them to fix things and finally get this part of the story moving.

I can't be the only one who hates the whole miscommunication trope because honestly it's the easiest one to use when you want to create conflict between two characters.

It makes sense I suppose in this context and with this couple because Ray has huge trust issues and mixed with his addiction it makes him an easy person to mislead. But I still don't love that he didn't jumped straight to "you never cared about me all you want is money" when this whole show has set up Sand as someone who doesn't want Ray for money and who is his emergency staff.

This part broke my heart a little because we see the extent of how much Ray cares about Sand. Especially with the intimacy between them, and coming straight from last episodes confession. But what's also painful is that that was probably a very cherished moment for Sand too, and Ray completely dismissed it without a second thought because of his anger.

First and Khaotung have some immense talent and chemistry, because this scene is filled with betrayal and anger, but also so much love. Ray loves Sand so much that he is hurt so much by the prospect that Sand might not love him the same, that it might just be all because of the money. But Sand is hurt that everything he's done for Ray has been totally dismissed because of a miscommunication. He did what he did because he loves Ray, he returned the money because he knows he didn't help Ray because of it.

Talk about an explosive ending to this highly anticipated fight. We've literally all known that this would be a very important turning point in their relationship, but I don't think any of us expected it to come in this episode (at least I certainly didn't).

My poor baby Sand:(

We know how much importance Sand places on his plum wine since it's what he uses to fund his life, so him destroying it was really sad to see. All he's done is try to help Ray, and sadly Ray chose to not trust him, even though one could argue Sand is the one person Ray should be able to trust.

Which makes the next scene so important.

This WHOLE scene gave me warm gooey feelings. I was literally giggling and squealing like a little child lmao. I love that Sand was waiting for Ray outside of his first rehab session, and didn't judge him for not liking it.

THEY ARE SO CUTE ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

I am loving that they aren't shying away from their feelings anymore and we are finally getting the full out flirting that we have been craving from FirstKhaotung. I thought the back and forth felt so natural, and I'm simply so happy they've reached a point where they can flirt and talk this comfortable.

"I can be addicted to you for the rest of my life, can't I"

Moving on!

Ray having a scene where he is individually choosing to fight the alcohol is crucial to his alcoholism storyline and character development. It's the first time we see effort from his part that isn't prompted by Sand, but rather coming from him having a moment of acknowledgment.

Only for it to be ruined by the miscommunication of Sand and Ray's father's conversation that Ray overhears.

Which sets us up for Part Four!!

I know I'm sorry I keep making these longer but truthfully I feel like SandRay is finally getting the screen time and depth they deserve.

SandRay will end my life Pt.2

I liked the vibes of this entire scene lol

I know they haven't declared that they're together yet, so I'm not even fully sure they're dating, but they give MAJOR couple vibes here and I'm loving it!

I live for them subtly flirting and just hanging out, and I like that they get to talk about important things like this because we don't really see this type of communication from other characters.

Ray ultimately seeing that Sand was going to be brave enough to tell his father about his existence in order for Ray to go to rehab was probably a second declaration of love lol

And I liked that Ray was able to respect Sand's choices and leave it to him to tell his dad instead of forcing it out of him. Right on Ray!

Sand encouraging Ray to go to rehab for himself and not for Sand is ELITE behavior. ATP Sand could do anything and I would still defend him with my life (thank you First Kanaphan!!)

I'm sorry but I can't get over how cute they look. Like they are both so adorable and I just want them to book the first flight out of Thailand and leave and be happy with each other.

SandRay will end my life Pt.1

Ok I'm foreseeing now that this will definitely have more than one part, so lets get into it!!

This week's episode is honestly one of the best ones of this show so far. Not even getting into the development of the whole MewTopBoeing drama, SandRay are finally getting their own part of the story and I'm living for finally being able to acknowledge Ray's addiction, Sand's home life, and their relationship insecurities. Which will inevitable go into next week's episode.

Let's begin!

I think it was really good for Ray to hear all of this rehab information from Sand because (at this point in the episode) Sand is someone that Ray knows has his best interest at heart.

I like that Sand is being brutally honest about the situation that Ray is in. Not letting him walk away and and keeping his eyes open. I think that Sand's persistence and his support are amazing, but it is also important to understand that Ray needs a firm hand.

Ok this part made me laugh lollll Sand is too funny.

But I also thought this was really good of Sand to call out Ray because it also shows Ray that even though Sand knows he is difficult to deal with, Sand isn't running away. He's there, and he'll be patient with Ray through this journey.

Ok this part definitely confirmed the suspicions we all had about Ray's dad paying off Sand to help him. And although I'll touch on this later, I knew from episode 6 that Sand wouldn't actually accept any money from Ray's dad because he cares. It wouldn't have really fit with his character to just be paid off to help Ray.

This scene was really domestic in a way. I liked that they are now comfortable with each other and with flirting without the pressure they used to feel.

Also Sand looks so good (First Kanaphan you are a beautiful human)!

It's really interesting to me that Ray hasn't outright acknowledged his fear of going to rehab and what it means for him. But I find it very on brand for him to want to see an example of bravery. He trusts Sand, and so wanting to have an example of someone doing something scary like he has to must be a comfort of some sort.

I will say I found it a little unfair to Sand to equate rehab to talking to his father, but then I watched the rest of the episode and understood that Ray just wanted to see the bravery, not actually force Sand to do something like that (but more to come on that in part two!)

Will Sand die in Only Friends the Series??

I read someone's post yesterday about the possibility of Sand being the one that gets killed off and not Ray (I couldn't find the post, but if you know who it is pls let me know). At first I thought this was so dumb, BUT THEN the person ended up making some very interesting points.

Of course the misdirect would be that we think Ray will die because of his history with death, drinking and mental health. So it would be an epic plot twist if Sand was to die.

The biggest point that was made was about the conversation that SandRay had before having sex in the camper. Ray keeps talking about if people would cry for him if he died, and what he thought about in the crash.

Sand literally says "I don't want to die yet. I have dreams."

IS THIS A FORESHADOW?? (hehe like the enhypen song)

Because then also First said that Khaotung's best acting happens in episode 12. So if the kill of Sand at the end of episode 11, beginning of episode 12...

Ugh I mean ok I'm pretty sure it won't happen but wtf what if it does!!!! I don't think I could forgive the writers for that. The author of the post even added to the pain by saying that Ray's ending would be to travel to all the music festivals and fulfill Sand's dream.

I mean are you kidding me I'm literally so sad and this hasn't even/probably won't happen yet.

This is The Last One *I promise*

ok I seriously swear this is the last one omg

But we're going to tackle my Favorite moment of this whole episode, and one that all of us SandRay fans have been waiting for!!

I'm living for the candid conversations that are happening on this getaway because seriously they would not have even admitted they found each other attractive in the first three episodes and now they're talking about what would have happened if Ray had died.

I wonder if Sand is sort of beginning to see part of Ray's insecurity towards how people view him in this conversation. Sand doesn't think Ray is necessarily a shitty person (even though he can be a bit of an asshole), so it is interesting to see that Ray thinks his friends wouldn't mourn him because they view him as shitty.

This bit was so cheesy and romantic and I LOVED it. It's important for Sand to realize that Ray has taken off the rose colored glasses for Mew, and is seeing the real world and the realness that is Sand's love for him.

I know a lot of people have been saying that Ray only went after Sand because Mew didn't want him. But I think Ray went after Sand because he realized he was wasting his time on someone he doesn't even feel much for anymore. He couldn't waste another second letting Sand slip through his fingers.

This was just fucking hot I don't even know what else to say.

Ok I'm kidding, I think this scene was beautiful, and it captured the build up of feelings from both of them. Ray wanting someone who can take care of and love him. Sand wanting to be loved and take care of someone.

First and Khaotung have got to be a little bit in love with each other because people do not have this much chemistry, and not have some sort of feelings for each other I mean seriously.

This little cheek kiss moment just blew everything out of the park. It felt very much like a silent promise and reassurance. Ray telling Sand that he is here with him, he's chosen him, and he chose with his heart and not the expectations he used to have.

This whole episode was a 10/10 and I'm so happy they at least had one episode of momentary happiness.

We still have the apartment scene to look forward to, which I'm guessing is tied to whatever Ray's dad asked of Sand (eek) but I still have hope that whatever fight they have, it'll make them stronger and they'll come out together in the end!

What Just Happened Pt.3 (still going omg)

Alright I'm seriously hoping this is the last part but there is just so much content idk what to do. Hopefully if this finds you it's because you enjoy reading all this stuff while you wait for the next episode to come out LOL

From last week's preview we already knew this was going to be an important conversation for this pair because this whole show we have been needing both of these to start communicating properly. I thought this setting was perfect honestly because there's something very relaxed and open about being in nature.

I think throughout this interaction it's interesting that Sand is really just calling stuff out, while Ray sort of tries to placate him. But at the end of the day, Sand isn't an idiot, and with the way Ray has been brought up, he needs clearer boundaries and open communication.

Ray is very capable of saying thank you, apologizing, and admitting when he is wrong, but he needs to be with someone who cares about him enough to keep him in check.

It's exactly this type of conversations that Ray needs in order to help process his feelings, and learn how to take care of the feelings of others. A lot of this show has been spent with Ray feeling like he owns Sand, but that is not the reality.

Look at Sand expressing his feelings and finally putting it out there that he likes Ray. I think both of them have been waiting for this, and it shows a lot of progress from Sand that he is able to set his boundaries while also expressing himself.

And Ray finally admits what we all knew from the beginning. People talk a lot about how much control Mew has over Ray but let's talk about how wrapped Sand has him around his finger. Ray never stopped chasing him and wanting to know him even when he was "chasing" Mew.

I think the ending of this scene was incredibly symbolic.

Turns around to wait for Ray

Ray is wobbly and a little unstable in the water but moving forward nonetheless

Sand reaches his hand out to him to steady him

What Just Happened pt.2

Continuation on the mind-blowing events of the latest episode of Only Friends the Series. I seriously cannot even because I've watched the episode like 5 times now and I still can't process.

The whole sequence of Sand and Nick trying to hook up was hilarious lmaooo. I honestly forgot that this show can be funny too and this had me on the floor peeing myself. Especially when they just started laughing they were so unserious.

^^^This had me peeing my pants. As someone who has kissed close friends of mine, it is honestly just so fucking funny.

BUT THEN.

RAY SHOWS UP!!! HOMERUN!!!!!

Listen we already know this show is toxic and morally grey with questionable characters and whatnot, BUT I AM A SANDRAY SUCKER NO MATTER WHAT!!!😩

Ray showing up and crashing this had me ready to throw a party

Nick being one of the SandRay captains (along with his co-captain Mew) was one of the funniest parts of this scene. Nick was passionately defending himself and it made me love him even more. Even though him and Sand are both a little pathetic, he still wants to give Sand his best chance with Ray.

Ray INSERTING himself in between Sand and Nick to mark his territory had me HOWLING and Ray suggesting a Threesome for the THIRD time this show was so on brand for Ray.

THIS WAS THE FUNNIEST FUCKING THING THAT HAS HAPPENED IN THIS SHOW. I CANNOT STATE ENOUGH HOW HARD I LAUGHED.

This was peak bestie energy and I loved Nick's face I was laughing so hard.

What Just Happened Pt. 1

Episode 9 of only friends is THAT BITCH!!!!!!!

I don't know if I can fit everything I want into one post but we're going to try. I'll go scene by scene and insert my thoughts and reactions, as always, all opinions are valid, this is just mine!

Also I didn't screenshot everything because I'm lazy, but I got what I thought was most important (hehe)

Starting off with Ray going to talk to Sand to clear things up after everything that went down at the party and Sand looking at him LIKE THIS^^ had my jaw on the floor and my nerves quaking

This whole conversation was tension filled from the moment that Ray walked into that music room. As much as people try to analyze Ray's and Sand's motivations, I'm a simple girl at heart, and I was honestly just kicking my feet and squealing because I live for angsty romance. The distance between them, the simmering anger, the love that bubbles underneath it all IS TOO MUCH FOR ME!!!!

I loved Sand's sarcasm, and the honestly it was a little out of pocket for Ray to go to Sand after everything and say that he "thinks" he understands his feelings more now. I too would've been like ok and???

This part had me in shambles because LOOK AT SAND'S FACE! The man he loves is a total dipshit but also the cutest thing alive (Khaotung privilege is real).

LOOK AT SAND WHEN RAY SHOVES HIM!!! I let out an actual scream because wtf was this like they have such insane chemistry I could feel it in my feet. Pushing each other away, but also not being able to stay away from each other. POETIC.

This was so chef's kiss I can't even begin to explain it. Like this is literally what people write about in books, being so desperate for someone that you kiss like you'll never get to kiss them again. I had to rewatch this like 18 times to get it through my head. (clearly because I've never had this LMAO)

This was then OBVIOUSLY interrupted because in what universe are they not interrupted lol. I will however say that I slightly agree with Top here because Mew and Ray haven't at all communicated on where they stand, but also it's implied that they're "together."

Overall this was an angry, desperate, HOT and important make-out for everyone involved.

Sand and Nick's Bestie Getaway was honestly one of the highlights of this episode for me. I think a big part of the plot of this show is how all of these "friends" are not actually very good friends to each other. So it is really heartwarming to see a healthy friendship between these two.

I honestly laughed a lot, and I like they're not part of the main friend group because it creates a good comparison.

(I'm treating everything in this part as "one scene")

I loved seeing Sand once again put his foot down. He is having fun with this bestie and he doesn't want to see Ray. TBH it was also just funny watching Ray get shut down but also get incredibly determined to find and see Sand.

This whole part made me laugh hahahah The face Ray makes when Sand hangs up on his is priceless.

I will say, in an absolutely batshit crazy episode of television, my underrated yet absolutely favorite part was Ray's "but Sand, think of the orphans!" to score a date

Quick question for those watching only friends:

Do you guys think RayMew will break up before SandRay go on their little trip away??

I just think it would be beneath Sand to get with Ray knowing he’s still with Mew after everything that went down at the Halloween party🤔 Like the whole conflict is that Sand doesn’t want to be #2… so would he sleep with Ray while he was still with Mew??

Ideally for me:

We pick up right after episode 8 left off

RayMew talk the next morning and “break up” (are they even really dating??)

Ray goes after Sand and classroom scene happens BEFORE the trip

Mew’s moms come to town and him and Top begin to reconcile SLOWLY (top must grovel)

Boston does whatever he does

I actually think SandRay might end up “together” at the end of this episode in order to set things up for the conflict remaining in the last 3 episodes🤔

Weren’t people saying his ex was going to come back? And whatever Ray’s dad has to do with it too?? Idk how they’re going to theoretically fit all of that in just three episodes🧐

The love triangle needs to end now to give that space to breathe before whatever the last episodes have in store for us.

We shall see how my predictions did on Saturday🙇🏻‍♀️🤌🏻

The chuckle I let out in the middle of the grocery store because of this was too much😭

I was trying to figure out why this scene had so much power to it and I realized this is the moment Ray figures out Sand’s feelings for him. It is so beautifully written and executed… I have so many thoughts on this:

Firstly, Sand is the one to bring up the elephant in the room that is RayMew. This is not surprising, given Ray’s lack of accountability and avoidance of serious matters.

What IS surprising is Ray’s immediate reaction to this - he completely discredits the seriousness and validity of RayMew’s relationship to Sand:

“… we need to see if it’s gonna work.”

He’s (consciously or unconsciously) trying to reassure Sand that he’s not entirely unavailable - that him and Mew are just “trying things out”. That there’s still room for Sand and this thing between them.

He follows that discredit with a comment that can be read as direct criticism and comparison of Sand’s own “just friends” boundaries during their time together:

“At least he let me cross that friend zone line.”

At least HE did, at least HE let me try.

Sand returns this thinly veiled snide comment with a double entendre of his own:

“Good. You can finally end the secret crush.” To which I don’t think Ray picks up on Sand’s true meaning until Sand finishes with “Such a waste of time, right?”

THERE. RIGHT THEN. THAT MOMENT is when Sand’s true feelings finally become clear for Ray.

Because why would Ray’s secret crush be a waste of time if it worked out and he is now with Mew???

Sand is talking about himself… and Ray knows it.

You can literally see the lightbulb moment clear on Ray’s face. Sand likes him, Sand has a crush on him, Sand doesn’t want them to be only friends, and possibly never did.

But Ray didn’t know that before, how could he? And how unfair that he finds out now, finds out RIGHT as Sand is telling him that he’ll end his secret crush on Ray, and that he’ll let Ray go now that Ray has Mew?

All of the times Sand said he would never take Ray as his boyfriend or lover - insisted that they stay friends and nothing more. Possibly even hurting Ray with these words during the brief time when Ray was properly trying to move on from Mew.

And now that the man Ray has loved for years is giving him a chance - now that it’s seemingly too late, Ray is figuring out that he was wrong - that Sand did want him, like him, love him.

You can see the wheels turning in his head - trying to figure out his next move - and in that moment, he can see himself in Sand. Because at the end of the day, Ray understands loneliness and rejection better than anyone.

And so finally, he decides to next ask Sand the question he wishes someone would ask him:

“Are you okay?”

I may be Team Top??

As promised in my last post, I'm making a diary entry for TopMew!

I'll start by saying that I have not been a fan of this couple throughout the show, but I did like their characters separately. Something that I felt a lot throughout the series was the lack of chemistry and awkwardness surrounding TopMew. Mind you, I've watched "A Boss and a Babe," I KNOW ForceBook has chemistry.

In saying that, episode 8 has officially changed my mind on the TopMew train hehe.

Specifically this scene

Mew's revenge era is honestly what made me like him the most... Unpopular opinion maybe, but I found it really relatable that he is doing things he normally doesn't do and becoming someone different. Top did a really shitty thing to him. Despite him being "perfect," being a virgin, having good grades, and being respectful, Top still cheated on him. It opened his eyes to the fact that no matter how "good" he is, people are still capable of doing shitty things to him.

So why not do all the things you've never done in the name of being hurt. No matter who he is, people can hurt him no matter what, might as well go out with a bang.

The bathroom scene was interesting because it's the first "civil" conversation they've had since the whole fight blew out. and Top is now seeing the effects of his affair with Boston reflecting on Mew. Even with Mew rubbing Ray in Top's face, he still is only worried about Mew and what is happening to him.

It's honestly slightly refreshing that Top isn't taking the jealousy approach because he knows that at the moment he's lost that right. He can't blame Mew for running to Ray because Top set him on that path.

Top was presented to us as a selfish character, one who is used to getting what he wants, and not having much to work for (a little bit like Boston). Him going to Cheum and voicing his concerns for Mew, even taking a little bit of heat from Cheum (you go girl), shows character development on Top's part, and honestly gives me a little bit of hope for their end game.

I want to touch on Mew for a sec, and his "relationship" with Ray.

I think it is so intentional the way that they have framed this phrase for Mew and Ray. How Ray is someone that Mew "should" love, but obviously doesn't, because Mew loves Top and knows deep down that Ray will never fulfill that role in his life (the same way Mew can't fulfill that role in Ray's). Even hesitating to kiss him when they are alone is evidence enough that Mew is pretending.

Curving Ray's kiss and saying they should go and have fun is ultimate "get me out of here" behavior. Mew doesn't want Ray. Simple as that.

I also need to call out the fact that the next time we see RayMew kiss is because Mew is trying to prove a point to Top. Only then does he use Ray to make him jealous, but isn't actually willing to do it in private.

Top's face during this whole scene made me sad tbh. I really felt for him, he was manipulated by Boston and thrown under the bus by Nick. Overall, he did a shitty thing, but that doesn't mean he didn't love Mew or want to be a better person for him.

This scene called to action the fact that Mew is still jealous over Top. Calling him and Boston out for sitting next to each other and telling them they're free to hook up again was funny but also important to TopMew's relationship.

Top still being there for Mew, helping him when he was throwing up and then sitting next to each other on the floor gave me MAJOR SandRay Episode 1 parallels. But also look at Mew :(

He's asking Top why he has to be an asshole because he still loves him. He is in love with an asshole :((((( and I'd like to point out that this scene was the MOST chemistry that I have seen from these two thus far.

Both of them are hurt, and are hurting for the other. I think deep down, Mew wants to make amends, but also he needs to do this for himself. He needs to spiral a little bit to realize where he is headed. he needs to make Top hurt a little (as sad as that may be).

Top on the other hand is hurt because he did this. He caught feelings, and then messed up the person he loves. He doesn't know how to fix what he broke, but also knows that they are meant to be.

This is what really changed my mind on them. Before it felt like both of them had masks, and didn't really see each other, but now they're both at low points, and seeing each other for the first time. But still loving each other from afar despite the turmoil they're going through.

Top taking care of Mew after everything at the end of the night was so heartwarming. A man who probably has never been one to take care of others, spending what little time with Mew he can get.

I'm really looking forward to seeing where these two go, and huge props to ForceBook for the amazing acting job they're doing!
