Basic Color Theory - “Dawn” (in gouache stroke and Rorschach inkblot)

The project, inspired by nature landscape, features tetrad color scheme: red-orange, yellow-orange, blue-green, and blue-violet. With Rorschach inkblot technique, the image develops further creating symmetry and allowing audience to perceive in their own way.

Finished work: “Journey of the Contenders” Based on one of the most popular TV shows currently, Game of Thrones, the mapping project displays travel logs of each of four main contenders for the “Iron Throne” of the Seven Kingdoms. Drawings of each character guide audience to connect with a legend positioned in the left bottom corner. The order of the drawings from left to right is the Night King, Jon Snow, Cersei Lannister, and Daenerys Targaryen: the order of them in the legend is slightly different from the drawings’ - please be advised with this description. The objective of this project is organizing traces/achievements of each contender from season 1 to lately aired season 7 so that both watching and non-watching viewers can benefit from the mapping display without being exposed much to the show story. Blending three materials(geography, drawings, and composition of patterns) was a great challenge and an experiment yet achieved through meticulous drawing, cutting, and pasting.
