Sankofa NYC has evolved... Its evolved to being a collection of beautiful black women I respectfully think are awesome.... I like to look at this collection of photos and think that these women are all very different, but share a similar attitude, strength, style, and aura.... The Diaspora, History, and NYC are still on my mind. Peace...

Jay Leno just said "Marry the person you wish you could be" interesting. I've definitely been with people I wish I was more like... Heard this a bit too late. But Idk man would I have rose to the occasion? Or just been sad still lol

At some weird point... I had this scary realization that like, I couldn't escape the American dad'ness of existing here as an adult male. Now listen this is a wild exaggeration and simplification of things. I have been OUTSIDE OUTSIDE for far too long, and have traveled all over and seen all the art and so on and so forth. But you know in tv shows like in the Sopranos, there's always a dad that just sits in front of the tv watching the same thing over and over. For Tony it was WW2 stuff. Or like Al Bundy, idk, there's just this image of a man on the couch watching the same old sports highlights or whatever. Anyway at one point a few years ago, I realized I was watching the same shit over and over and I was like "oh shit, I'm that older American male" lol.... Now again I was all OVER the place, having too much fun, making too many great memories, so I'm overreacting alil but still thats why it's a feeling like you can't escape it. Like you will go through a moment of boldly sitting around watching the same shit again and again and again. I don't mean like for a week or two. I'm talking an era lol but yes it feels hard to escape going through that. But as I type this I think why do we even have to? Why were we taught on tv shows and stuff that a man sitting on the couch watching his lil show is such a bad thing. Lol like damn let that nigga watch his show, why is the camera judging him. But I also thought that we only see a moment in those characters lives, cause clearly they go on to watch other shows, just like we have lol. But I also thought maybe this is just a world thing at this point. No gender or nationality needed. Maybe we just don't associate it with older women. I grew up in a world where women would still "watch stories" or soap operas but those were still new shows. But I'ma assume we may all be in on this now, having a rewatch moment... Or not... Maybe I really did fall into a pit that was crafted for me by America at one point lol.
