The Trump-Republican budget would be a disgrace under any circumstance. At a time when inequalities of income and wealth in America are wider than they have been in more than 80 years — with the richest Americans taking home near-record amounts of both — the bill is shameful. Billionaire tax cuts are a policy choice. Cutting healthcare for millions is a policy choice. Taking from the poor and giving to the rich is a policy choice. Make no mistake: Trump and the GOP are choosing to do this. It's another reminder that in this country we have socialism for the rich, harsh capitalism for everyone else.
