Hello friends, you may or may not be aware that the kinds of Moash fanfic out there are vast and varied. Turns out people have conflicting views on him for some reason. This is fine, people are allowed to write whatever they want forever, but it does make navigating the Moash tag on ao3 a special kind of hell if you like Moash since it's often completely unclear if a fic is going to write Moash in a sympathetic/nuanced way or just make him a physically abusive shithead to everyone around him.

So if you write Moash fanfic and actually like him while you do it, consider using the tag "Nuanced Moash"

It doesn't mean that Moash is a saint that does nothing wrong in your fic, most Moash enjoyers like that he's a bit Like That, just that you aren't making him gleefully kick babies into the ceiling. Even if all Moash does in your fic is suck dick you can use the tag, the point is to signal what your intentions are with Moash's character and make fics Moash likers would enjoy easier to find. Okay bye PSA over

i think kaladin might just be one of the best characters with depression i've ever seen, because... well, because he's depressed. he's depressed from the moment we first get his perspective, and he doesn't stop being depressed after five books worth of being the main character for over 5000 pages. there's never a point where he magically gets over it. in fact, magic pointedly can't fix him. and he has ptsd, too, which interacts with his depression and complicates how he handles his depression. he's deeply flawed, he wants to try his best, but he struggles with it so much. how many other fantasy protagonists are still having mental breakdowns four books into their arc? progress isn't linear, depression doesn't disappear, and kaladin isn't perfect. it's beautiful.

Welcome to the 2025 Stormlight Queer-A-Thon!

Hello! This is the blog for a Stormlight Archive multimedia fandom event spanning the month of June, run by @arborplasm! Its focus is on queer writing and art for, you guessed it, the Stormlight Archive.

Here's how it works: the current plan is that on Saturday, May 24, I'll be posting a list of tropes and prompts for the good people of Tumblr to get some inspiration and begin working on their projects. This is an extremely open-ended endeavor: you can of course use tropes that don't appear on the official list, and you can pick any Stormlight characters you like. Any length, any word count, any way you'd like to create. *Smut IS perfectly allowed, but nothing NSFW will be on the official prompt list. Feel free to get as kinky as you like.*

When the event officially begins on Sunday, June 1st, you can begin posting your creations! Anyone who wishes to join in is absolutely welcome!

Make sure to properly tag book spoilers and content warnings where applicable; let people know what they're getting into. I'll make a collection on AO3, and linking to your newly published fic on Tumblr is encouraged so I can reblog it here --- you can mention this blog in your post and/or tag it with #stormlight queerathon 2025 to help everyone find it.
