you know, I've been thinking, you might be surprised to know that despite my feral appearance, I would be far better at hiding my animalistic nature from you than you would expect. my day job is about as professional and boring an office job as anyone could imagine, and I hide myself well in that world; these writing skills are unfortunately just at useful for emails as they are for smut

and that train of thought brought me to a very fun idea, which is, having blended in perfectly, the dashing butch professional expertly mingling and enjoying the party just like any other guest, approaching you at a big corporate party, and pressing a knife up to your back

maybe we've met before too, but you've only seen me with claws and fangs out, so you don't recognize me until I whisper into your ear, and it's clear that I have no hesitation about gutting you in front of your employees if you start to make a scene

Sometimes, when you're driving for long enough, you'll start to feel like the vehicle is an extension of yourself. You'll instinctively know how close you are to other drivers. Sometimes you swear you can feel the wind rushing by your sides, even if your body is safely inside the car.

I wonder, sometimes, if this effect would extend to collisions. Would it hurt if I crashed into a building? What about a person? If I forced a girl to stand still as I shifted into neutral at 60kph and let momentum do the rest of the work?

Would I feel her cracking as the hood collided with her ribcage? Would it be my own force that propelled her backwards, as if I had pushed her with my own hands? Could I hear her breathing slow as the precious seconds tick down to the point where calling the paramedics won't help?

And when I step out of the driver's seat, closed the door, dial the insurance company and then the ambulance, would she understand how personal, how intimate it really felt?

Fear is such a useful tool. There's the lesser fear of the knife, the fear of injury, death. And sure, that's lovely. But it's like a spark- burns hot and then it's gone.

I prefer the type of fear that lingers. The fear of starvation, the fear of being forgotten. Of losing status or the respect of a role model. Of everything you've built for yourself collapsing around you like a house of glass cards.

The type of fear that gnaws at you when you're struggling to sleep or looking through your bills.

I’m in my early 30s but also clocked the grade 13 reference and gotta say, I thought I was pushing it but if you actually attended grade 13… damn, hope you’re giving yourself good health insurance as CEO.

I didn't attend Grade 13, but the OAC was still technically a thing. I consider that close enough to Grade 13.
