Biography

One hundred times Gilberto Almeida made Liam write and rewrite, "He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: Therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips". Eight year old Liam didn't quite understand what he had done wrong, but he knew by the tone of voice that his father had that he couldn't tell his mother again what his father was doing when she wasn't around.

Three years later, Liam's mother, Maria, walked into his bedroom while he pretended to be asleep. As she brushed his hair from his face she whispered, "I wish you had told me. I'm going to fix this." Sometime later that night, Liam awakened to the sound of shouting. He got out of bed to find his mom to complain to.

As he walked through the hallway, he heard a sudden thud, and as he rounded the corner he saw the limp body of his father with blood dripping from the candle holder his mother was holding.

"Shh baby. It's over. Let me get you some warm milk, and I'll tuck you in." Maria dropped the candle holder, and walked Liam to the kitchen and then back to his room with the cup.

Once in his bed, Maria kissed his forehead. "This is all a dream. A secret dream okay? Do you understand?"

That was the last night that Liam ever saw his father. The police questioned both Liam and Maria, but neither admitted to knowing anything. Maria moved the two of them from Brazil to Brighton in England. There she met a new man, and everything seemed to get better for Liam.

Keeping and knowing secrets had managed to save his life, and so Liam learned that the greatest power was to know and keep secrets. He traded secrets in high school for knowledge, and in college, he traded some secrets for power without betraying the people who told him those secrets.

A year into college, Liam met the antithesis to himself. Isaura told everyone everything about herself. There was nothing about herself that she hid away. She loudly talked about her bad relationships, she giggled about the strange things her parents did, and she shared all the knowledge she learned along the way from her life.

She had no secrets that Liam had to hold within himself, and somehow that made her easier to talk to than everyone else. She was pretty in a way, and his friends said the way he talked about her sounded the most like love he had ever sounded. He asked her out, and within six months they were married.

Life was easy from then on, or it seemed that way to Isaura. They got a beautiful home, they both were quickly growing in their field, and they each had friends they were close to. For Isaura, everything was how it was supposed to be when one was in love.

Well, except for one minor thing.

Liam on the other hand slowly found his gaze wondering. There would be conversations when he was alone at dinner with certain friends where his heart would race and blood would rush into his face. Texts from one particular friend would make his whole day brighter just to hear from him. At night, Liam would dream of holding his friend's face so close that he could feel his breath.

He felt this intensity with that friend, but he felt nothing with Isaura when he laid in bed with her.

The fear of this reality was too much, and he gladly accepted the offering to work at Sapphire Lake Hospital. Isaura couldn't join him until her contract ended, so for a year Liam is on his own.

Biography

Life was supposed to be easy for Leo Navarro. His mother was a world renowned singer, and his father was a producer who had his hands on many albums in the Billboard top 100. Due to this, they both had the collective assets to make sure that Leo could do anything that he ever wanted to. They made sure he got private tutoring before preschool age. Every summer, he got to pick any country in the world, and his parents bought his way into the nicest hotels in the world.

With a large donation, his parents had him sent to Aiglon College when he was only five. Switzerland felt worlds away from Los Angeles in California especially when his parents vowed not to respond to any texts or calls but only letters to make sure that Leo was forced to adjust to the new life.

Alone in an entirely different country, Leo began to bounce from friendship to friendship. He was charming enough to make plenty of friends, but he was too naive and young to keep them long. People became fleeting joys that came and went.

The one thing that stayed stable in his life was science. He changed interests in science over and over again, but he always found himself gravitating towards the subject that provided meaning to the world. He wasn't the smartest kid in school, but he was the most dedicated to whatever he was focused on.

After high school, he spent several years traveling the world on his parents money before finally eventually heading to Tulare University. There he barely kept good enough grades to graduated, because he spent most of the time there partying. He slept his way through men, women, and everyone between. He drank until it was a week later, and he couldn't remember when he had started. And he earned a reputation as the man to know to find the hottest spot to be at.

After getting his Bachelors, Leo didn't know what to do with himself. Partying couldn't pay the bills, and frankly it was starting to lose it's shine by that point. For years, he leaned on his parent's guilt money after the two of them spent the years previously fighting publicly about their divorce.

Eventually, to get his mother to leave him alone, he enrolled in college once again to chase a medical degree. This time without any other distractions Leo managed to graduate with honors.

Wanting to get away from his parents' names, Leo headed to Sapphire Lake.

Biography

Everybody wants to rule the world, and no one knows it better than Austin Laird. His birth handed him an empire of dirt that his father could only barely manage. The only way to keep the Laird name alive in Scotland was to cut the pay of the workers, buy their homes, and make them pay the rent back. That's what everyone around him told him, and he learned from that day on that you have to do whatever it takes to survive.

His younger brother had to be disowned, his sister married off to someone that he approved of, and he had to keep a tight grip on his own mother's spending to make sure that she didn't go behind him and try to take the empire he built with his own hands. Once she was old enough, he made sure she was comfortably locked up in a nice home in rural Scotland where she couldn't contact anyone but her nurse and Austin of course.

Once his empire was in control, Austin decided that he wanted a job that was more hands on- specifically hands on women. Austin realized that the women around him paid a lot of money to try to look more beautiful, and the doctors giving them that profited greatly off of this.

Getting into the university of his choice was easy due to a 'donation', and he never had to worry about his grades too much when he could buy his way through any problems. Eventually, he graduated, and he took a job at the Sapphire Lake Hospital to get away from Scotland and enjoy a life of opulent private luxury.
