do people not understand the concept of consent anymore? when the whole debate on AI voices started up and voice actors were saying it was bad, everyone started going "ummm but what about Hatsune Miku??" like it was some gotcha, when no, actually, Hatsune Miku is not bad because she was made with consent. the issue is not "people's voices are being used to make art and that's bad", the issue is "people's voices are being used to make art WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION, AGAINST THEIR WILL. WHICH IS BAD."

if somebody at work steals your food, the issue is not that somebody ate your food, the issue is that somebody ate your food WITHOUT ASKING YOU AND OBTAINING YOUR PERMISSION FOR IT. if they ASKED you, and you said sure you can have some, then there is no issue. and JUST AS IMPORTANTLY, it ALSO means that it is an INSANE leap to assume that this means from now on everyone should be able to take everyone's food whenever they want because there's nothing inherently wrong with it and "well this person said yes so I'm going to assume everybody else will also say yes". my god. do we all collectively need to sit down and watch a dvd on how to learn to share and gracefully accept when people say they don't want you to do something

graduation cap design i’ll be wearing for my uni graduation this week. Despite the time I’ve spent here, it’s difficult to feel pride for my school when administration responds to nonviolent student movements for Palestine with aggression, intimidation, and blatant misinformation.

Most importantly, let’s not forget the reason for these protests — the liberation of the Palestinian people, and a demand to end our involvement in genocide. We will keep the strong momentum we have going and lend the brave people in Palestine our support.

Fellow Northeastern graduates (and any students, really) are more than welcome to use this design on their caps as well. I created a free high res PDF for print here. 🍉🎓

hi friends! I don't usually do this but my girlfriend is currently in a very tight spot financially due to not being able to work because of her fibromyalgia and the fucking French government withholding her disability financial aid without any explanation.

she created a ko-fi if anyone is able to donate; we are mostly just trying to get her some groceries + food for her service dog.

She is an incredible writer, able to edit texts and do any revisions that you might need, as well as being able to translate between French and English and vise versa.

We do not have a set goal, just anything helps to get them food.

I do hope to stop talking about the fandom eventually (probably soon since it doesnt affect me as much as it used to) but I never appreciate people trying to police my feelings on the whole ordeal.

What I experienced genuinely traumatic, probably the worst day over a design I was just working on for fun. Not helped by these people not only refusing to apologize but doubling down by spouting off vile things my way. terrible fandom, terrible community is only going to continue to get worse and eat itself into oblivion if it cant get its shit together

Although I do think the Lady Dimitrescu complaint was funny like what bizarre criticism LOL

I must not mock Gen Alpha. Mocking Gen Alpha is the mind killer. Mocking Gen Alpha is the little-death that brings total generational solidarity obliteration. I will engage with Gen Alpha lovingly. Ya know, as someone who has been in this fandom for nearly 2-3 years, I have seen so many people jump at other people for being critical of OL when there are very obvious fuck ups that the game devs should have taken time to correct instead of letting it stay and fester.

For example:

Terry's step 4 design in general and how grossly sexualized it is when he's a trans man

The inclusion of white supremacy through one of the LI's parents

Cliff never having a set enthicity and therefore letting people decide what race Cove should be so they dont have to worry about confronting their feelings on dating a mixed man

I can go on and on about this, but you can enjoy a game and criticize aspects of it that wasn’t handled well. You should, at the very least, be neutral on when people criticize those aspects because each criticism is an improvement that the devs can take forward to their next games
