I stand in the kitchen, halfway to madness, dreaming of Hemingway's Spain.

Your Innovation is Showing
Your Innovation is Showing
Disruptive innovation is the impetus behind most technological luxuries that we enjoy each day. We have cars, smartphones and Netflix all thanks to our collective desires to assess our daily objectives and decide there is a way to accomplish them better and faster. That could be said for nearly every innovation out there, but disruptive innovations are those that create a concept that completely…

Let's Scream Beyond Ice Cream
Let’s Scream Beyond Ice Cream
The saying goes that, “we all scream for ice cream.” But what could ice cream scream for? For Ben & Jerry’s, the answer is for inclusion, equality, and human rights.
Who doesn’t love ice cream? And who doesn’t love ice cream with a social mission, amirite? Ben and Jerry’s, one of the most popular pruveyors of this frozen delicacy,…

What's That Brand Again?
What’s That Brand Again?
Effective marketing relies on a very key factor: defining the customer and targeting them. For many brands, the audience is rather clear and the jumping off point is intuitive. For others, research and trial & error are necessary in order to define this persona. And others still keep trying, but struggle to find the exact purchasers of their product. So what happens to these brands that can’t…

[KIND]a Killing It
Walking down the granola/snack bar aisle of your local grocery store can be one of the most overwhelming parts of your shopping trip. A thousand brands with a thousand varieties touting a thousand different benefits when all you want is something to bite into. But one brand has managed to carve itself out a special place in that aisle and has an ever expanding influence over the food world.
When…

Beyond Books
Back in the day, Barnes & Noble and Border’s were the behemoths of book selling, bullying smaller shops into submission by courting consumers with coffee shops and bargain baskets. But those days are long gone. Border’s has bitten the dust and Barnes & Noble is finding it harder and harder to keep their doors open. Largely a victim of convenience, shoppers began purchasing their books from…

Julien composed this cover of "Bad Romance" over a number of evenings while I slept on the couch, as I am oft to do.
I dig it.
It's only in GuitarPro now, but hopefully those duders in Saturnalia will get their act together and record it with some real instruments. Or, you know, whenever they get the time. Julien DID quit the band in its previous incarnation ;)

Google Image Search: Sarah Morrison
You have got to be fucking kidding me.
Even though images like this are decidedly more badass, Google still assures me that digitally constructed nipples attached to my name are still floating around the internet.  Whatever, "Sarah Morrison."  You enjoy existing vicariously through your Playboy feature and I'll just look down my shirt and know who's really got the goods.

Google Image Search: Jesus and Koalas
When Google searching Jesus and Koalas I expected my results to yield only the former or the latter.  Imagine my surprise and delight when I beheld, in front of me, a stuffed koala viewing a rendition of the Madonna holding none other than infant Jesus.
My faith hath been restored.

Tom Waits: I Don't Wanna Grow Up
My sentiments exactly (you know all the right words Mr. Waits), though I may feel differently if anyone would be so kind as to employ me.

Lady Looks Like A Dude
Upon playing with My Heritage's Celebrity-Look-Alike function in the midst of procrastination, I have found it disconcerting that with every picture I upload, at least five of my results are dudes.
Should I be upset over my 76% resemblance to Heath Ledger?

I'm happy to see that doctors are finally being allowed to move past the stigma that the government has placed on hallucinogenic drugs.  Whatever your take on recreational drug use, the implications that their use could have for psychological purposes is largely under-researched and potentially extremely effective.  I hope that they'll also soon resume (if that haven't already) the use of MDMA as a treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder.  Under controlled conditions, that too proved to be a beneficial addition to therapy until various governments were blinded by recreational drug use crazes and ceased research.
Perhaps one day these evil drugs will be recognized as being not so evil after all.
