I lost my 18 year old kitty today, and I'm heartbroken.

While grief is proportional to the amount of love we give, I will never regret giving my entire heart to those in my life. 🐾❤️🌈

Heartbreak terrifies me, but it is a part of life. I find comfort in knowing that it stems from having loved abundantly, fully, and without hesitation.

As much as it hurts, I will never stop loving fearlessly, for it is what makes life worth living❤️

I think sometimes it's just hard for a woman to age because our society has consistently idolized and prized youthful beauty in a woman. Hence, as I've aged, I've really had to redefine what beauty and success mean to me. I've also had to do the work to find my 40's identity.

There has been an elegant fierceness to being in my 40s. It wasn't how it started, but that's where it's been going, and I'm ALL for it. During this decade of my life (so far), I've had this capacity to do things that scare the shit out of me, and I'm really proud of that. 😂

At 40, I worried about the loss of youth--both aesthetically and mentally. The pandemic had reminded me that life should be lived FULLY, because, things can shift in an instant. I wasn't getting any younger so I said fuck it, and tried OF to check it off my bucket list. It was a hilariously fun, irreverent, and thrilling 6 months of random nudity and smut 😂

At 41, I was restless and thought I wanted to retire from work work to travel the world, but then my brain got bored 😂. Then, a series of events happened that led me to decide to apply for a PhD program, just to see if I had what it takes......😂🤷🏻‍♀️

At 42, I worked, got into and started my PhD program (LOVE it!), and traveled the world.

And HELLO 43, I can't wait to see what's in store....😉

Friday non-work attire...

It's has been a crazy crazy few weeks. I feel like I'm under water with work sometimes, but rarely do I feel like I'm drowning in it, like I did these past few weeks. But it's been an amazing sort of drowning (yes, I realize how weird that sounds 😂). It's the feeling where you feel like you're dying a slow death, but are simultaneously learning skills to thrive and blossom once you push through the overwhelm and self-doubt phases.

What I'm really trying to say is, it's been a sweet torturous crazy wonderful few weeks, and I'd do it all over again. After some down time. 😂

I'm finally coming up for much needed air...sort of. I submitted my first few manuscripts, and they are in the hands of the peer-review gods now 🎉🎉🤓

Taking a little time to feel human today and play dress up for an event. I keep saying this year has been a whirlwind....but it's barely April 😂

Work trips and summer trips booked✔️

Counting down to the end of my first doctoral year....in a month✔️🎉

Now, onto hotel choices and brushing up my language skills for travels this summer....and my remaining month of way too much school/professional/personal work.
