Last 2 years have been an extremely busy time for me both personally and professionally. Don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining, I learned a lot and am grateful that I was part of such amazing projects at work. However, life was busy and me being the type of person I am, I always have a list of things I want to do, places to visit and experiences to have. One night after an extremely busy day I got home and I started journaling, which in my case was more of a To Do List. I thought if I put it down on paper it will happen! Below is a picture of my top 3 items that in May 2016 I put down in my journal.

· “Visit London”- I was in love with London my entire life. I travelled a lot in Europe but somehow never made it to London. Few months after journaling about visiting the city I booked my flight and has been a regular visitor of this amazing city since then.
· “Learn French”- Well…I still can’t speak French for more than 5 min but one day I will
· “Apply for MBA”- ..and this is what this blog in all aboutJ Few weeks ago I started my MBA at Imperial College of London
I always knew at some point I would like to go back to school to do my MBA, I talked to a lot of people who went through the experience. For me it was all about timing. I wanted to have just enough work experience that I can get the most out of my MBA. By end of Summer of 2016 after coming back from London I was sure that it is now or never! I just had this feeling that my time is now. I attended a Forte Foundation event in Sep. 2016 which was a forum for MBA schools from across the world. I knew for me MBA is about building a global network and experiencing something different. At the Forte event I met Imperial College recruiters and that is how I learned about their MBA program. If it wasn’t because of that event I may have never known about this amazing program! I went back to London in November, applied in January and by March had my admission and an amazing scholarship in hand! There is also a whole story about my decision to change my admission from Full time to Global Online program but what is important is when you really want something you can achieve it and there is nothing/ no one that can stop you. My friend Armin always tells me about power of visualization and journaling and I think now I can say I believe in it. I am by no means a good writer or ever thought in million years I will start a blog, you probably already seen some grammatical errors in my writingJ However, I feel this is a good way for me to document an important stage of my life. I also hope this blog motivates someone else who is in the same journey. When I was applying for my MBA I reached out to a lot of different people and did tons of research, this is my way of helping someone else who is in that process.
While life is going to be extremely busy over the next 2 years I am so grateful for this opportunity. Since June I met so many amazing people from across the world! I have made strong friendships and heard amazing stories. I have always been amazed by different cultures, cities and people’s stories. I am in awe of the great people I met over the last couple of months. In my class we have several parents who are doing their MBAs while have full time jobs and taking care of their families, we have an amazing woman who is working as an advisor in Middle East to help with advancement of women in different sectors.
Life is full of surprises and amazing people with great stories. I will start my MBA with an open mind embracing everything this journey has to offer.
