We need a sinners prequel
I want to see more of Annie and Smoke, the Choctaw and how they met Remmick, Remmick’s backstory of how he became a vampire, and how he got to America (I know the movie kind of tells us but I want to see it in detail)
Sadly I don’t think we’re gonna get one
I don’t know if this is true but I’ve seen people saying that Ryan Coogler said they won’t be making a second movie
I’ve also seen people saying they’re working on a second one without Ryan Coogler but I haven’t seen any evidence of that, and it’s from TikTok so it’s probably not true

Imagining Remmick surviving that night at the juke joint and then deciding to become a crackhead looking cult leader lmao

Most of my posts are about Remmick, but my favorite character was actually Delta Slim, and people are definitely not talking about him enough
Delroy Lindo played this character amazingly. He was a comedic relief without it feeling very out of place which is a pet peeve I have with movies. A lot of movies have someone as a comedic relief (which isn’t the issue) but they’re usually very unrealistic and unnatural a lot of the time
You can also see how good of a person he is, especially when he was encouraging the men who were working while they were driving through the fields and then sacrificing himself so Sammie, someone he didn’t even know until that day, could escape and live.
People don’t talk about that enough and I really think Sammie wouldn’t have survived without Delta Slim, because Smoke, Sammie and Pearline (am I missing someone else from that scene?) could barely fight off Remmick alone, imagine ALL the other vampires on top of that

the way that the reveal at the end, sammie continuing to play the soundtrack we've been hearing all that time, implies that he's been telling this story to an audience through his music - expressing the pain and horror and despair through music, as blues so often does and did before him. the way it's his pain but it's the pain of everyone who didn't survive, and you can feel it. the threads. the threads. the threads.

There are some people being rude to me in my inbox (anonymous of course) for my post where I was wondering about the lore of the vampires and getting some things wrong
My sincerest apologies for not remembering every single second of the movie and misremembering some of the tiniest details
If you comment/inbox something rude I’m just gonna delete it because it’s weird

Currently watching sinners for the fourth time
I’ll never get tired of this movie
Also, in the beginning, they call people from Ireland with the musical ability Filí, I wonder if Remmick had that when he was a human
That aside the beginning artwork was really pretty, does anyone know who made it?
