SSM19 Day 23: Departures

It was originally from a vine but one day I saw an edited Naruto version of it, so I had to. Naruto sings GO!!! by Flow

“Sakura…who…did that to you…?” - Sasuke  “Sakura! You hair-” - Naruto 

Sasuke’s reaction to seeing Sakura beaten up by the sound ninja compared to Naruto’s reaction to seeing Sakura beaten up is deafening. Especially since out of all her injuries, Naruto decided to focus on her hair rather than the fact she was covered in scratches, blood, and dirt. Sasuke took one look at her and broke Zaku’s arms for what he did. Sasuke didn’t just look at her hair and say “Why is your hair like that?” he fucking said “POINT OUT THE BASTARD WHO BEAT YOU UP SO I CAN KILL HIM!”. 

Then Sasuke doesn’t say anything when Sakura completely lies about what happened while he was unconscious and shares the same look as Ino. Her best friend. He’s not an idiot or oblivious to Sakura’s emotions, he knows she’s just putting up a front so Naruto doesn’t freak out unnecessarily. 

I’d like to use this scene as a comparison of Naruto & Sasuke’s feelings towards Sakura at this point in the story. 

Naruto still has a school yard crush on Sakura but he’s not actually invested in her mental or physical well being as one should be. Even if you’re not technically a couple yet, you must take notice of your crush’s well being. 

Sasuke on the other hand took revenge for Sakura by breaking Zaku’s arms and he would’ve killed him if Sakura hadn’t stopped him. He took one look at her scars and the blood on her and flipped out. Then he respects her decision not to worry Naruto over what just happened but knows she’s not as strong emotionally as she makes herself out to be to their teammate. 

Even at this point in the series: Sasuke’s feelings for Sakura were a lot stronger than just a school yard crush like Naruto’s.
